Chris Wallace's elitist declaration

Chris Wallace has had a difficult fall season. His popularity started dropping when he pretended to be the moderator of the first presidential debate. His ratings have dropped ever since he tried tag-teaming with Joe Biden against President Trump.

Wallace's slippage continued yesterday when he "interrupted Health and Human Services Secretary Alex Azar on Sunday after Azar referred to Joe Biden as 'vice president' rather than 'president-elect.'" It started when Secretary Azar said "We welcome Vice President Biden to the club. Since the middle of April ... the president's guidelines have called for - " That's when Wallace inserted himself into the conversation:
"He's the president-elect, sir. He's the president-elect."

I guess that settles it. Chris Wallace insists that Joe Biden is the president-elect. We don't need the Electoral College to meet. President Trump's legal team should withdraw their lawsuits. the DOJ should stop its investigations. Chris Wallace has declared this race over.

What chutzpah. There's a reason why FNC's ratings are tanking. Chris Wallace's partisanship is major reason why. Of course, it didn't help that their Decision Desk called Arizona way too early.
Wallace's elitism drips from every word. If FNC wants to become MSNBC, that's their decision. If they think that someone won't replace what FNC used to provide, they're kidding themselves. People drive markets, not elitists. There's an old saying that goes like this: When the people want something bad enough and they scream for it long enough and loud enough, the people get what they want. That's precisely how markets work.

Chris Wallace can make all of the declarations that he wants about who is or isn't president-elect. When the Electoral College certifies the election, then we'll have a president-elect, not a minute before.

Ilhan Omar's money machine

Ilhan Omar's money machine hasn't limited itself to nepotism. While getting paid $2,780,000 from his wife's campaign , hubby Tim Mynett also "received $134,800 from the Paycheck Protection Program and $500,000 in Economic Injury Disaster Loans." Apparently, Democrats aren't satisfied with just nepotism. Apparently, they're into playing the victim, too.

Think of whether this sounds ethical:
Between July 23 and Sept. 30, E Street Group received $1.1 million from Omar's campaign for expenses related to advertising, digital consulting, video production and editing, travel and more. The $1.1 million in payments accounted for 70% of Omar's third quarter disbursements.

Omar defended her campaign's financial relationship with E Street Group in a March statement, but announced in November that she is cutting ties with her husband's firm. "So we've decided to terminate our contract with Tim and Will's firm," Omar wrote in an email to supporters, referring to her husband, Tim Mynett, and his business partner, Will Hailer.

Omar isn't the only Democrat using the nepotism hook to benefit her family:

That's before talking about the millions of dollars Hunter Biden made when his father was vice president. Democrats should change their name to All-in-the-Family Grifters. That's who they really are.

Mitch McConnell and Elaine Chao? MN CD1, and leadership pay to the GOP party head? Known as double dipping, it happens. The spoils system exists and it is proper to question all instances. What's Clarence Thomas' wife Ginny's business? Joe, and Hunter and Jim add to such bipartisanship tradition.

Comment 2 by eric z at 08-Dec-20 10:22 AM
Gary, have you looked at multi-millionaires Nancy and Paul Pelosi? Is there a story there, or not? AOC, Tlaib, Senator Warren, progressives each, squeaky clean. Stauber and Emmer seem to not double dip. (Yet.) Two parties, one practice is the bottom line, and it is a troubling practice which some avoid.

Personally, I like E Street Band more than E Street Group, but such a value judgment admittedly is subjective. Each is a business. Each sells a product.

The Christmas police visit Minnesota

Apparently, the Christmas Police are being asked to visit St. Anthony, MN this year. This isn't quite a 'War on Christmas' article but it's close. According to the article, "An unidentified St. Anthony, Minnesota resident has received an anonymous letter on Monday chastising them for their Christmas light display."

From there, the article quotes the anonymous letter writer, saying "The idea of twinkling, colorful lights are a reminder of divisions that continue to run through our society, a reminder of systemic biases against our neighbors who don't celebrate Christmas or who can't afford to put up lights of their own. We must do work of educating ourselves about the harmful impact an outward facing display like yours can have."

That sounds like a liberal's writing. It also sounds (perhaps this is redundant?) like it was written by someone who doesn't like the Constitution. The "twinkling, colorful lights" aren't "a reminder of divisions that continue to run through our society." They're a reminder of the night Jesus Christ was born. From Luke 2:
8 And there were in the same country shepherds abiding in the field, keeping watch over their flock by night. 9 And, lo, the angel of the Lord came upon them, and the glory of the Lord shone round about them: and they were sore afraid. 10 And the angel said unto them, Fear not: for, behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy, which shall be to all people.
11 For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Saviour, which is Christ the Lord. 12 And this shall be a sign unto you; Ye shall find the babe wrapped in swaddling clothes, lying in a manger. 13 And suddenly there was with the angel a multitude of the heavenly host praising God, and saying, 14 Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace, good will toward men .
15 And it came to pass, as the angels were gone away from them into heaven, the shepherds said one to another, Let us now go even unto Bethlehem, and see this thing which is come to pass, which the Lord hath made known unto us.

This is a time of celebration for Christians. Should Christians sit silent while their Saviour is born? I think not.

Here is the letter:

To me, that letter is attempting to shame people into not exercising their faith. It's an attempt to use different tactics to limit or restrict the First Amendment. How un-American.

How stupid. "St. Anthony is welcoming of all people" ... unless you want to put up a few Christmas lights.

Comment 2 by eric z at 08-Dec-20 09:59 AM
The practice of lighting up the Solstice dates to primeval times and superstitions; so quelling the follower of such clear pagan tradition has a basis. A basis which is apart from pagan tradition preemption by later folks, the pagans had the idea first before it was retreaded. Similar to planting and harvest ceremony being retooled. Just change the story-line and some folks get drawers in a bind.

Comment 3 by John Palmer at 08-Dec-20 02:16 PM
It is too bad that some people rush the season and unfortunate that some try and impose their opinions on others. I do not think the letter writer was concerned about rushing the season and skipping Advent.

The religious Christmas season for non Orthodox Christians begins after sundown on December 24th. Western Christians are in the second week of advent and at my house we are lighting two candles on and advent wreath. To show the world outside our home two bushes are lit each night this week. Each additional week of advent will see one more candle and one more bush lighted. On Christmas Eve an Angel appears and a image of the baby Jesus arrives to mark the beginning of the 12 days of celebration.

Eric Swalwell's Chinese spy problem

Last fall, Eric Swalwell was busy impeaching President Trump. Before that, he was busy running for president himself. Meanwhile, he was apparently too busy to notice that a Chinese spy had infiltrated his staff .

Yesterday, House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy expressed his disgust with Swalwell, saying Rep. Eric Swalwell, D-Calif., was "so preoccupied with going after President Trump" that he was not "protecting the USA from bad actors." McCarthy continued, saying "This is only the tip of the iceberg because remember what we're hearing. These are Chinese spies that go down to the level of a mayor. [China] helps a city council member become a congressman. This congressman now gets on the intel committee. They are only selected from the intel committee by the leaders of their party meaning Nancy Pelosi. Nancy Pelosi is one of the Gang of Eight, along with myself. Did Nancy Pelosi know this had transpired when she put him on the committee?"

If Swalwell is that inept, he should have his security clearance pulled so he can't serve on the House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence, aka HPSCI. Further, Speaker Pelosi should be criticized for putting someone this unqualified on a committee charged with protecting our nation's intelligence.

The Democrats' attitude toward China is frightening and appalling. This isn't the first time a Chinese spy has infiltrated a Democrat's office. Check this out:
In July, 2017, Politico writer Zach Dorfman wrote an in-depth piece on Chinese intelligence gathering in the Silicon Valley area of California. The piece was focused on China's acquisition of modern tech, but a small blurb in the middle of the piece noted that one of Senator Dianne Feinstein's staffers reported to the Chinese Ministry of State Security, China's foreign intelligence agency. The staffer was a spy, working for a Senator on the Select Committee on Intelligence (she was the Chair at the time) and the Defense Appropriations Subcommittee.

Apparently, Democrats aren't doing a good job of screening their office employees. This shouldn't be happening. In this video, Krystal Ball said that this could happen to anyone:
That's BS. If you're on the House or Senate Intelligence committees, you should be paranoid 24/7 about this sort of stuff. This morning, Nancy Pelosi said that Capitol Hill interns don't need background checks:
That's insane. It's frightening that Democrats aren't taking the China threat seriously. The Democrats' accusations of xenophobia are disgusting. The Republicans' fears of Chinese infiltration is intelligence-based, not racism. It's thoroughly rational to make decisions based on a nation's actions.

This is proof positive of no matter what the democrats are trying to accuse the republicans of doing, the democrats are actually doing it and on a far worse scale.

Tim Walz kills another business

Tim Walz has killed another business . This time, Gov. Walz killed Wayzata Brew Works on Lake Minnetonka with another lockdown order.

In a statement, Wayzata Brew Works said "Wayzata Brew Works opened in April 2015, [and] almost instantly became well known for the view of Lake Minnetonka, live music, exceptional craft beer and great pizzas. After enduring the spring shutdown, imposed by the governor, and then managing through the governor's mandated reduction of capacity during our most profitable part of the year on Lake Minnetonka, we are now faced with a second shutdown imposed by Gov. Walz, a shutdown that doesn't involve any sustainable relief from the governor in order to help alleviate the economic calamity brought to our industry as a result of his decision."

Apparently, Gov. Walz wants to become known as the job-killing governor. His one-size-fits-all approach to policy-making has led Minnesota's businesses to the brink of bankruptcy. Minnesota's hospitality industry is decimated. It might take years to form the capital needed to get these businesses started again.

The profit margin in this industry is slim. In Minnesota under Walz, the tax and regulatory structure is punitive. Unfortunately, it isn't stable, making it quite unpredictable. In that type of environment, why would anyone work hard to build capital, then put it at risk in such conditions?

You can't control the people if they have their own jobs and money. Slowly killing off small businesses is only the first step in the plan to get everyone dependent on government for survival.

Gov. Gretchen Whitmer defends Rep. Cynthia Johnson

A week ago, Cynthia Johnson was unknown, except with Michigan Democrats. This week, everyone knows that she's a bomb-throwing Democrat with a temper thanks to a threatening videotaped warning to "Trumpers." Enter Gretchen Whitmer, defending Rep. Johnson , saying "I think this is a woman who has been through a lot. And I think it's important that every single one of us give one another a little bit of compassion and grace," Whitmer said, noting Johnson has had a loved one in the hospital."

Whitmer continued, saying "In the simple requirement that she show up to do her job last week at a hearing with Rudy Giuliani, where she was exposed to COVID, frankly, and everyone who was there was, has now made her the target of a lot of racist attacks and threats on her life. None of this is acceptable. None of it is acceptable."

Gov. Whitmer is ignoring the fact that everyone else in that committee hearing was "exposed to COVID." Only Johnson threatened people afterwards. This is Rep. Johnson's diatribe:
Stripping Johnson of her committee assignments is relatively mild, considering the fact that the Democrat physically threatened "Trumpers." This is what Johnson said :
So, this is just a warning to you Trumpers. Be careful. Walk lightly. We ain't playing with you. Enough of the shenanigans. Enough is enough. And for those of you who are soldiers, you know how to do it. Do it right. Be in order. Make them pay. I love y'all."

That's a threat, which isn't protected by the First Amendment. The part where Democrat Johnson calls on "soldiers" is especially disgusting. There Johnson says "you know how to do it. Do it right. Be in order. Make them pay . "

We don't know who the soldiers are. Still, we know that that's an explicit threat. That Gov. Whitmer, another elitist Democrat, would defend Johnson is just another nail in her political coffin.

Minneapolis City Council votes for increasing crime

Once again, the DFL-filled Minneapolis City Council, aka MCC, voted to increase crime in Minneapolis . "The Minneapolis City Council voted to move an additional $7.7 million out of the Minneapolis Police Department early Thursday morning, but backed down from a plan to reduce the number of officers."

This guarantees that more crimes will be committed in Minneapolis. This stunt of not reducing the number of officers while cutting their budget isn't fooling the people. Carjackings, which are up 537% , will continue being a problem because the police force is stretched too thin.
Council President Lisa Bender said "Our city's workforce has adapted to an incredible challenge this year of working remotely and completely shifting the way we're working as a community, while facing a pandemic, the killing of George Floyd, the destruction of the Third Precinct, and so much of our community's commercial corridors."

Bob Kroll, the president of the Police Officers Federation of Minneapolis responded, saying "The City Council is decimating the police department. The number of working officers is the lowest it's been in 50 years . Murders, shootings, and other violent crimes are approaching record levels. Our officers are severely overworked, understaffed, and cannot keep the public safe with these cuts." Shepard Smith, now with CNBC, characterized the cuts this way:
Smith opened by saying "Today, some reforms." Tell that to the victims of carjackings, shootings and rapes. With fewer officers to protect them, fewer shoppers will visit Minneapolis, hurting the few businesses left downtown. Despite the rising crime, the DFL City Council won't learn from their mistakes:
Jeremiah Ellison, the son of Minnesota Attorney General Keith Ellison, said the council will revisit the charter change next year. "This is NOT the last chance we will have to dramatically rethink public safety in our city," said Ellison. "We will quickly be in 2021 budget discussions, we will continue to ramp up community engagement on the future of public safety, and we will revisit the charter change for the 2021 ballot."

The results are predictable. People will leave Minneapolis at a faster pace. Businesses will close, then move to the suburbs where sane-thinking people still live. The poorest people will be trapped.

This isn't compassion. It's cruelty masquerading as compassion. The MCC should be fired the next time they're up for election and replaced with clear-thinking adults this time.

Tim Walz's anti-science, anti-business COVID closure approach

Tim Walz consistently emphasizes as fact that he's following the science in fighting COVID-19. That isn't the truth. It's the opposite of the truth. Late last week, 5 Republicans sent Gov. Walz, the DFL governor of Minnesota, a letter calling for the reopening of gyms in Minnesota .

The 5 representatives sending this letter are Minority Leader Kurt Daudt, Pat Garofalo, Barb Haley, Dave Baker and Ann Neu Brindley. In the letter, the Republicans said "While we share a common goal of keeping Minnesotans safe and slowing the spread of the pandemic, the data simply does not support keeping these facilities closed. It is devastating to the business, their employees, and the health and wellness of Minnesotans who rely on their services."

The data is that "According to statistics from the YMCA and Life Time, a mere .002% of visitors across 35 Minnesota YMCA locations have contracted the virus since June. Across 23 Minnesota Life Time locations, there have been just 352 cases out of 3.17 million visits, according to the letter. The national numbers match that, with the same rate of only .002% of all visitors contracting the virus from a gym."

The scientific data doesn't fit the DFL's decision. In other words, the DFL's decision is spin, not scientific. Let's hope that these fitness centers sue Gov. Walz and the DFL to reopen. That's what it will take to get them reopened because the DFL House has protected Gov. Walz. Here's the statistical case against the closure:

This graphic shows that Gov. Walz's order isn't justified. The DFL House majority is complicit in Gov. Walz's order. This paragraph summarizes things perfectly:
"Finally, health and wellness facilities should be considered some of our strongest allies in our fight against COVID-19," the letter advises. "These facilities promote regular physical activity, which improves health, strengthens your immune system, and reduces the risk of many common diseases. It's also a way for many to strengthen their mental health - another major challenge during these difficult times."

Tim Walz and the DFL have killed lots of small businesses with their draconian shutdowns. Their insistence that they're following the science is an outright lie. The Daudt letter proves that. Small businesses, gyms and restaurants across the state should vote to throw the anti-science DFL and the anti-science Gov. Walz out of office in 2022.

Big Tech, Hunter Biden & the MSM, the thoroughly disgraced edition

Saying that Big Tech, Hunter Biden and the MSM aren't filled with integrity is understatement. Unfortunately, that's only a partial list. The list of people and organizations that displayed a deep absence of integrity this election season is lengthy.

Nancy Pelosi let tens of thousands of businesses go bankrupt to help Joe Biden win the presidential election. May God have mercy on her. I won't. Letting people lose their life savings so a corrupt politician can win an election is the opposite of integrity. According to thesaurus.com , the opposite of integrity is corruption.

There's no disputing that the MSM is corrupt. They're almost as corrupt as Big Tech:
The nation's largest social media companies went further: They made the shocking decision to actively censor the New York Post's eye-opening scoop revealing evidence of Joe Biden's son's influence peddling that was recovered from an abandoned laptop. Twitter locked the newspaper out of its own account for weeks. Facebook prevented the Post's story from being widely distributed, even though neither Joe Biden nor his campaign disputed the authenticity of the documents published by the paper.

Whether you thought that there was voter fraud or not, there's no disputing that this election was rigged. Let's return to the case against the MSM, though. Check this out:
One of the FBI documents from the laptop published by the Post "included a case number that had the code associated with an ongoing federal money laundering investigation in Delaware, according to several law enforcement officials who reviewed the document. Another document, one with a grand jury subpoena number, appeared to show the initials of two assistant U.S. attorneys linked to the Wilmington, Delaware, office." Hunter Biden claims he only learned of the investigation this past week, but these documents suggest otherwise.

That doesn't sound like Russian disinformation . See also here and here . That sounds like they were each singing from the same DNC/Biden campaign hymnal. Sounds familiar, doesn't it?
First HuffPo, then CNN:
Corporate media needs to be dismantled. They wield far too much influence. This year, corporate media and Big Tech defeated the best president of my lifetime. Joe Biden didn't have to campaign. Hunter Biden's multiple scandals weren't enough to sink him.
