Nancy Pelosi's bet won't work
Nancy Pelosi's double-down bet is rich with irony. Pelosi, one of the biggest liars this side of Adam Schiff, is instructing Joe Biden not to debate President Trump because Pelosi said that President Trump "and his 'henchmen' have no 'fidelity' to facts or the truth."
This is a time-tested tactic of Ms. Pelosi's. By saying this, she's taking media attention away from her willingness to shaft blue collar employees and small business owners. President Trump wants a 4.0 version of COVID. Pelosi insists that President Trump spend $1,000,000,000,000 (that's one trillion dollars) on bailing out public employee pension funds. These PEU pension funds have been virtually bankrupt for a generation.
The Pelosi faux diatribe also washes away (she hopes) the stories about Jerry Nadler packing the Supreme Court, AOC pushing for abolishing ICE and Chuck Schumer advocating for eliminating the legislative filibuster. Each of these initiatives would have difficulty hitting 20% approval with the public.

Then there's Incoherent Joe's difficulties:

Regardless of Pelosi's tactics, Joe Biden is still Joe Biden. It's possible that Biden doesn't suffer any cognitive difficulties Tuesday night. Whether he does or doesn't isn't the important thing. The important thing for President Trump to do is remind all the different groups he's helped of the things he's helped with. With African-Americans, remind them of the First Step Act, funding for HBCUs, the Opportunity Zones tax cuts that are revitalizing blighted urban areas. Then highlight the Platinum Plan.

Donald Trump vs. Joe Biden, African-American vote competition edition
Think of President Trump's Platinum Plan as President Trump's in-your-face attempt to compete with Joe Biden for the African-American vote. First, this isn't pandering. It's an honest attempt to improve the lives of African-Americans. Next, the 4 pillars of President Trump's plan are "'opportunity,' 'security' 'prosperity' and 'fairness' for the Black Community."
Specifically, the Platinum Plan "designates the KKK and Antifa as terrorist organizations and calls for making lynching a national hate crime, while pledging to increase access to capital in Black communities by nearly $500 billion." Further, President Trump's Platinum Plan will "will increase access to capital, fuel Black owned businesses, cut taxes, increase education opportunities, lower the cost of healthcare, further criminal justice reform, make Juneteenth a National Holiday, prosecute the KKK and ANTIFA as terrorist organizations, and make lynching a national hate crime." Exit question: Did the Obama-Biden administration ever propose a plan like this? If they didn't, why didn't they?

School Choice
"While Joe Biden has bowed down to left-wing teachers unions at the expense of struggling students, President Trump has fought to give children across America access to school choice and quality education," said Dr. Linda Lee Tarver, Black Voices for Trump Advisory Board Member. "We need a leader like President Trump who understands the crisis facing America's public schools, not a career politician like Joe Biden who supports the failing status quo."
Joe Biden is the status quo candidate. It won't take long for African-Americans to figure out which presidential ticket has a plan to improve the lives of their community and which ticket is just more of the same failed policies that've kept African-Americans on the Democrats' plantation.
Joe Biden doesn't have a plan like that. Let's see how Democrats like competing with Republicans for African-American votes. I think they won't take it well.

Joe Biden's Build Back Better Plan
Joe Biden's Build Back Better Plan looks a lot like a baby's unchanged diaper. The MSM isn't interested in telling you what Joe Biden's agenda will be so I'll investigate. Under the heading of "JOE BIDEN'S JOBS AND ECONOMIC RECOVERY PLAN FOR WORKING FAMILIES", we find "Even before COVID-19, the Trump Administration was pursuing economic policies that rewarded wealth over work and corporations over working families. Too many families were struggling to make ends meet and too many parents were worried about the economic future for their children. And, Black and Latino Americans, Native Americans, immigrants, and women have never been welcomed as full participants in the economy."
What a bunch of BS. Joe Biden isn't capable of telling the truth. First, the unemployment rate for minority communities reached historic lows during President Trump's first 3 years. Further, wages for those at the bottom of the pay scale were increasing at twice the rate of their supervisors. In other words, Joe Biden is lying. Then again, the Obama-Biden administration had to tell some whoppers to rationalize their record.
Third, the unemployment rate for women dropped to the lowest rate since the 1950s. Not just that but women's wages grew rapidly, too. Again, Joe Biden is allergic to the truth. Come Tuesday night, the Trump rapid response team will have their hands full fact-checking Joe Biden. This is rich:
The Biden plan will mobilize the American people in service of four bold, national efforts to address four great national challenges. As President, Biden will:
Mobilize American manufacturing and innovation to ensure that the future is made in America, and in all of America. We've seen the importance of bringing home critical supply chains so that we aren't dependent on other countries in future crises. But Biden believes we can't stop there - he is releasing a plan today to build a strong industrial base and small-business-led supply chains to retain and create millions of good-paying union jobs in manufacturing and technology across the country.
President Trump has already done this. By voting for NAFTA, Joe Biden voted to ship good-paying middle class jobs to China, Mexico, Vietnam, South Korea and India. Now he wants us to believe he's suddenly seen the light? I don't buy it. Biden even blames George W. Bush for NAFTA:
I might be wrong on that. Joe Biden might think that it's George H.W. Bush's fault, even though NAFTA wasn't confirmed until the Clinton administration. At this point, I'm not sure Biden could differentiate between the 2 Bush administrations.
Joe Biden's economic plan is mostly platitudes. It isn't really a plan.

Chuck Schumer's dishonest diatribe
Chuck Schumer isn't the brightest bulb in the Senate Democrats' chandelier. Still, this week, he's outdone himself. This week, Sen. Schumer said that "By every modicum of decency and honor, Leader McConnell and the Republican majority have no right to fill it." The Constitution disagrees. Article II, Section 2 says "shall have power, by and with the advice and consent of the Senate, to make treaties, provided two thirds of the Senators present concur; and he shall nominate, and by and with the advice and consent of the Senate, shall appoint ambassadors, other public ministers and consuls, judges of the Supreme Court..."
"Article II, Section 1" says "The executive power shall be vested in a President of the United States of America. He shall hold his office during the term of four years , and, together with the Vice President, chosen for the same term, be elected, as follows:" Article I, Section 3 says "The Senate of the United States shall be composed of two Senators from each state, chosen by the legislature thereof, for six years..."
It doesn't say that the Senate can't confirm judges if we're nearing an election. As long as they're in session, a confirmation vote is justified.
In addition to not being bright, Sen. Schumer isn't terribly honest, either. Whatever. Sen. McConnell said that there will be an up-or-down-vote on President Trump's nominee. At the time, Sen. McConnell didn't know that it would be Judge Amy Coney-Barrett.
I hope Senate Judiciary Committee Democrats throw a Schumer-like temper tantrum against Judge Coney-Barrett. If they do, it'll sink the Democrats this election. In fact, President Trump thinks it'll be difficult for Democrats to attack her:
Attacking ACB is like attacking 'Mrs. Suburban Housewife.' Nonetheless, I'd be surprised if Democrats don't go too far. That's just who they are.

Amy Coney-Barrett confirmation hearings: 4 things won't change
If you're as tired of hearing Republicans and Democrats complain about the other being a hypocrite about confirming Supreme Court justices, get in line. Better yet, let's change the subject to something worthwhile. Since the process is going forward, let's talk about the Constitution and Judge Barrett's qualifications:
- Article II, Section 2 of the Constitution assigns the authority for nominating Supreme Court justices to the president up to the day he leaves office.
- Article 1, Section 3 of the Constitution says that the term of the Senate is 6 years.
- Article VI prohibits religious tests, saying "no religious Test shall ever be required as a Qualification to any Office or public Trust under the United States."
- Amy Coney-Barrett's credentials are impressive.
These 4 things won't change, meaning that all the huffing and puffing happening in Washington, DC, is theatrics. Theatrics should be ignored because they're unimportant. What's important is that, at least until January 20, 2021 and perhaps longer, President Trump has the constitutional authority to appoint judges to the courts. What's important is that the Senate has the authority to confirm judges to the Supreme Court. What's important is for Democrats to refrain from talking about Judge Barrett's Catholic faith. What's important is that Judge Amy Coney-Barrett is more than qualified to be a Supreme Court justice.
This is whining at its worst:

This is what religious bigotry in the 21st Century looks like and how to respond to it:
Sen. Harris, Joe Biden's running mate, is part of the Senate Judiciary Committee. She's put her prosecutor's hat on against Republican judicial appointees. Sen. Harris' biggest weakness is her ego. She thinks she's smarter than she is. That might get her in trouble. Judge Barrett is a truly smart, likable person. Shifting into attack mode isn't the wisest tactic.

Expectations game gamesmanship
Last night on FNC, Juan Williams and Dana Perino were guests on the Democracy 2020 special hosted by Bret Baier and Martha MacCallum. One of the topics that the hosts brought up was the expectations game. Frankly, the segment was a waste of time for information-oriented people looking for pertinent information. That segment was more of a 'shiny object' segment than informational segment.
Let's ignore the made-for-TV subjects and think about what's important. Instead of watching for who met or exceeded expectations Tuesday night, I'll pay attention for whether Joe Biden's answers get less coherent during the final half of the debate. Also, I'll pay attention to whether Biden loses his temper when President Trump brings up the Hunter Biden scandal. Will Biden actually defend Hunter or will he insinuate that this is just another Trump attempt to distract attention away from COVID?
What's most important to me is whether President Trump compares his lengthy list of economic and foreign policy successes to Joe Biden's list of hurting African-American families through the 1994 Crime Bill or by not getting the First Step Act passed to help African-Americans. I'll watch to see if President Trump is able to highlight the Platinum Plan .
If President Trump gets to highlight the Platinum Plan, that will be a major breakthrough for his campaign because a) Biden doesn't have a plan to lift black families out of poverty or b) start minority-owned businesses. The Platinum Plan also offers school choice to black families.
Since President Trump just introduced the Platinum Plan this past Friday, the debate would be the perfect time to let the entire nation know about it. Biden is certain to criticize President Trump as a racist. If/when that happens, President Trump's best rejoinder would be to rattle off the main selling points of the plan:
- increase access to capital
- fuel Black owned businesses
- cut taxes
- increase education opportunities (aka school choice)
- lower the cost of healthcare
- further criminal justice reform
- make Juneteenth a National Holiday
- prosecute the KKK and ANTIFA as terrorist organizations
- make lynching a national hate crime.
I'm betting Biden isn't prepared to reply to those specifics. If Biden accuses President Trump of being a racist, President Trump should then ask Biden what his plan for improving African-Americans' lives is, then ask him why he didn't enact it during his first 40 years in politics. That would likely stop Biden dead in his tracks.

Questioning Joe Biden's economic plan
Liz Peek's article highlights Joe Biden's substantive difficulties, especially with his proposed tax increases. In the article, Peek writes "The left-leaning Tax Policy Center estimates that Biden's proposed tax hikes will mean a loss of income for all Americans, including those in the lowest-earning groups, since higher corporate taxes lead to lower wages. The TPC estimates that 'For low- and middle-income households, the reduction in wages and investment income would, on average, more than offset the effects of Biden's new tax credits' . Is that a desirable outcome?"
Economics has never been Biden's strong suit. Forcing him to answer multiple questions about his tax plan might expose Biden's weakness to suburban voters. Suburban voters have experienced wage increases during the pre-pandemic Trump economy. Will they vote for a candidate who's promising tax hikes?
Another topic that's scheduled to be talked about is "race and violence in our cities." Here's another paragraph from Peek's article:
For instance, a recent poll showed that 68% of Black families are in favor of school choice. Campaigning in February, Biden claimed not to be a "fan" of charter schools. His unity task force platform reiterates Democrats' opposition to "private school vouchers and other?policies that divert taxpayer-funded resources away from the public school system."
President Trump is pushing hard for expanding school choice. How much of an effect will that topic have on minority voters? This is what he said Friday in Virginia:
There's little doubt that Biden will criticize him for being a liar. If/when that happens, President Trump's sharpest reply would be to highlight his signing the First Step Act into law, then asking Biden why he and Barack didn't get that done. That would highlight Biden's do-nothing DC career, which made him the perfect VP.

The Biden family's corruption
Frank Miele's article should be today's must-reading. It details how the Biden family, not just Joe and Hunter, enriched themselves while Joe was VP. These paragraphs are especially damning:
Perhaps even more insidious was the decision by the editors to push the most significant news in the report to the bottom of the Post's story. That is the lucrative relationship that Hunter Biden established in 2017 with a Chinese oil tycoon named Ye Jianming. Biden was apparently paid $1 million to represent Ye's assistant while he was facing bribery charges in the United States.
Even more disturbing, "In August 2017, a subsidiary of Ye's company wired $5 million into the bank account of a U.S. company called Hudson West III, which over the next 13 months sent $4.79 million marked as consulting fees to Hunter Biden's firm, the report said. Over the same period, Hunter Biden's firm wired some $1.4 million to a firm associated with his uncle and aunt, James and Sara Biden, according to the report."
Then, in late 2017, "Hunter Biden and a financier associated with Ye also opened a line of credit for Hudson West III that authorized credit cards for Hunter Biden, James Biden and Sara Biden, according to the report, which says the Bidens used the credit cards to purchase more than $100,000 worth of items, including airline tickets and purchases at hotels and restaurants."
If that isn't illegal, then it's, at minimum, extremely swampy. These aren't allegations, either. The committees have documentation from the State Department and the Treasury Department. These documents were classified but now they've been declassified after they've been reviewed.
The money trail is getting easier to follow, thanks to the hard work of Sen. Ron Johnson and the persistent reporting of Maria Bartiromo:
Unlike the MSM, Ms. Bartiromo isn't willing to look the other way. She's a real reporter. With her understanding of international finance and her understanding of financial corruption, she's Joe Biden's worst nightmare. The MSM will attempt to sweep this scandal under the rug but it isn't going away. Ms. Bartiromo has a large platform and President Trump's undivided attention.

Joe Biden, Kamala Harris, don't like accountability, reporters' questions
Joe Biden and Kamala Harris apparently don't think they need to campaign in front of real people or take real reporters' questions. Today, Kamala Harris's dismissive attitude showed itself when she delivered a blistering speech, then didn't take questions from local North Carolina reporters .
Democratic vice presidential candidate Kamala Harris faced renewed scrutiny for her lack of press availability on Monday after she abruptly exited the stage after a speech in North Carolina in which she criticized President Trump's bid to fill a Supreme Court seat before the election.
Harris did not take any questions from the media after her speech at Shaw University, one of North Carolina's historically black colleges and universities. The event was closed to the general public and attended only by news reporters, according to the Fayetteville Observer.
This fits into Sen. Harris's bio that she's got a glass jaw. She looked powerful when she attacked Joe Biden:
She was essentially knocked out of the race by Tulsi Gabbard:
Vice President Biden, in addition to not taking hard-hitting questions from local reporters, is a serial plagiarist. Everyone knows that he plagiarized Neil Kinnock, the British Labour Party MP. How many people know that Mr. Biden also plagiarized a Bobby Kennedy speech? This video shows that Mr. Biden also plagiarized JFK and Hubert Humphrey:

Joe Biden says that he's running to restore the soul of America:
Question: can someone who won't regularly take questions from the press be trusted to be president? Can someone who is a serial plagiarist be president? I hope not. Sen. Harris hasn't answered reporters' questions since being picked to be Joe Biden's running mate. Why are Biden and Harris afraid to stand before the American people and take their questions? Donald Trump isn't afraid to answer hostile questions.
