Virtue-signaling at its worst: Jason Whitlock vs. LeBron James, Nike

Jason Whitlock's op-ed is something celebrities, especially athletes, should read. Primarily, it calls out Nike and LeBron James. It doesn't stop there, though. It calls out "Colin Kaepernick, Megan Rapinoe and all the social justice reformers", too.

In the article's second paragraph, Whitlock wrote "Demand Nike, Adidas, Under Armour, etc., bring a significant portion of their manufacturing jobs back to the United States." In the third paragraph, Whitlock continued, writing "I don't trust athletes and celebrities to fix the criminal justice system, community policing or other problems well outside their area of expertise." From there, Whitlock gets into the heavy lifting of the article:

We're making a mistake allowing athletes and celebrity influencers to set the agenda for the kind of reform and change we want to see in America. Professional athletes and Hollywood elites answer directly to their corporate overlords. They've lived inside an elitist bubble since they were teenagers and they don't care to know what they don't know. They're paid handsomely to represent the desires of corporate America.

That's exactly right. Anyone that thinks LeBron James or Colin Kaepernick have dealt with social justice issues on a personal level is kidding themselves.

From there, Whitlock calls out LeBron James:

LeBron James' primary employer is Nike, not the NBA. LeBron's shoe contract is worth more than $1 billion. Every calculated move LeBron makes related to social justice reform, from the Ahmaud Arbery tweets to the Equality T-shirts to the school his foundation partially funds to his decision to remain silent on the Hong Kong protesters, is made with Nike in mind.

Let's get serious something straight. LeBron James isn't a patriot. He sided with China because that's where the shoes that he endorses are made with child labor. That isn't my definition of a patriot.

Let's be clear about this. Tweeting about Ahmaud Arbery while making hundreds of millions of dollars off the backs of child labor isn't making this nation great. It's playing a lead role in China's propaganda fight.

Racial unrest in America leading into this presidential election cycle is good for Nike and great for Nike's primary business market, China. Nike and China are aligned in their dislike of President Trump and his America First mantra.

This alone should be reason enough to vote for President Trump. If China is for something, we should oppose them. The Chinese Communist Party wants to eventually dominate the world. God forbid that happens. If it happens, China will censor anything it doesn't want in public. But why would LeBron care? He'll still be rich. He won't have to worry about the annoying things that the little people will be burdened with obeying. This will get Whitlock virtual universal condemnation from the elitist haters:

As I have stated in previous columns, I do not vote and I have not involved myself in politics. But I will admit President Trump's America First mantra is consistent with my values. Let me explain.

My mother was a 32-year union factory worker for AT&T's Western Electric in Indianapolis and Kansas City. Her mother, my grandmother, was a 35-year union factory worker for General Electric's RCA Corporation in Indianapolis. My father started as a union factory worker for Chrysler Motors in Indianapolis before owning and operating three neighborhood taverns that catered to union factory workers.

Then there's this:

Global corporations have shipped the values taught and the opportunities provided by manufacturing labor overseas.

My dad didn't graduate high school. My mom started working in a factory shortly after graduating high school. On the back of factory labor, they raised two sons who graduated from college, have never been in legal trouble, built professional careers and own homes. That's the American Dream.

LeBron James won't hesitate in selling the US out if it means extra millions in his bank account. I don't begrudge a person for making fists full of money. I only begrudge it when he sells out the US of A.

Jason Whitlock is a patriot through and through. LeBron James never will be a patriot. LeBron is what's wrong with America.

Proof the DFL is declining Frey's failure turns into Minnesota's bill?

This past weekend, the DFL House passed a bill that would force Minnesotans to pay for the bills that DFL Mayor Jacob Frey caused. According to the Alpha News article, "The Democrat-controlled state house voted 74-53, Friday, in affirmation of a bill (HR 132/the PROMISE Act) that saddles taxpayers from around Minnesota with the burden of funding repairs to private and public property in the Twin Cities that was destroyed by the George Floyd riots. This bill, if passed, will also increase sales taxes and trigger an investigation into the law enforcement and National Guard response to the unrest."

Let me talk for rural voters on this. Frey let the rioters and looters demolish his city when he could've prevented the violence. Now he expects the rest of Minnesota to pay for his incompetence? I don't think so.

It's one thing for Minnesotans to pay for natural disasters. That's what we've always done. This isn't that, though. This time, the rioting and looting weren't an act of God. This was the result of major mayoral mismanagement. It's what to expect from a ditzy progressive mayor who's more activist/airhead than leader. Based on this video, he's mostly a wimp:
Republicans need to tell the DFL to take a hike. Republicans need to say that we aren't paying for their activists' (think Black Lives Matter, Antifa) lawlessness. The Democrats' spinelessness, unhinged activism and connection with radicals like BLM and Antifa led to these buildings getting demolished. Had the DFL cared more about protecting the people than about having an issue for the campaign, we wouldn't be in this position. Also, electing Jacob Frey instead of someone that's competent is a stain on the DFL. It says where the DFL's priorities lie.

America's systemic problem

Democrats are right. There is a systemic problem within the USA. Here's proof of that system. Here's more proof . Still not convinced? Check this out.

The systemic problem isn't systemic racism. It's systemic progressivism. Where we've seen riots, we've seen appeasement-oriented local officials. Until those officials, including activists on the various city councils and the mayors, get removed, we'll have out-of-control violence. That doesn't mean that police reform isn't required. That's still true. It's just that the bigger problems facing police violence are tied to police unions that fight to keep bad officers employed and politicians that throw good cops under the bus without hesitation.

In Seattle, Minneapolis and Chicago, Jenny Durkan, Jacob Frey and Lori Lightfoot are utterly clueless (Durkan and Frey) or they're utterly pig-headed stupid (Lightfoot). Frey let a police station burn to the ground, then held a press conference to tell citizens that the Third Precinct Police Station was "just bricks and mortar." He didn't mention the minority-owned businesses in the neighborhood that got torched, looted or both. Those weren't just bricks and mortar. Those businesses were those families livelihoods and their retirement account.

Despite the shootings in Seattle over the weekend, Durkan is still remembered for this:
Mayor Durkan said this "could be a summer of love." Does this look like a love-filled summer?
Then there's Chicago, where 104 people were shot during Father's Day Weekend , 14 fatally:

Chicago saw its highest number of gun violence victims in a single weekend this year with 104 people shot across the city from Friday evening to Monday morning, 14 of them fatally. Five of those killed were minors .

If ever there was a time when leadership was required, it's now. Thinking that doing the same thing will produce different results is Einstein's definition of insanity. The C in Chicago stands for Corruption. Chicago is the corruption capitol of the world.

It's time to start training and promoting leaders. Those leaders won't magically appear. Society is producing leaders. They just aren't choosing to be police officers. Considering what officers make and the grief they take, that isn't surprising.

" Chicago is the corruption capitol of the world." Not sure about the world, but definitely the US. Illinois is by far the most corrupt state in the country. This website shows where all the homicides have happened this year in Chicago: heyjackass.com. It literally takes a federal indictment of politicians that are involved in a scandal for any change to happen in Illinois. The red light camera issue is one of them. Also, about 48% of IL residents have said that if they had the chance they would move out of that state.

Rename Black Lives Matter

Clearly, black lives don't matter to Black Lives Matter, aka BLM, the Democrats' racial special interest front group. If all black lives mattered to BLM, they'd be marching in Chicago's streets. They'd be demanding justice for "Mekhi James, the 3-year-old boy" who "was shot and killed in Chicago over the weekend. Two hours later, a 13-year-old girl was shot and killed just blocks away."

Lori Lightfoot nonchalantly regurgitated the Democrats' talking points . Lightfoot said "Our city's collective heart breaks to hear the unfathomable news of a 3-year-old boy who was shot and killed tonight on Chicago's West Side."

Roger Simon captures things perfectly in this article . Simon opens the article by saying "In case you missed it, and you could have considering the endless thumb sucking regarding just how many came or didn't to the Trump rally in Tulsa, 60 were shot, 9 fatally, at last count, over Father's Day weekend in Chicago."

Unfortunately, the Chicago fatalities increased to 14, including Mekhi James. Tio Hardiman is asking the right question:
Why aren't 30,000-50,000 people "shutting down the streets until" Chicago got it right? Mr. Simon appears to have it right:

And then of course we have Minneapolis, where most of the recent contretemps began, where last night 1 died and 11 were wounded in a shooting spree. All of this was black on black violence of the most tragic sort.

Where was Black Lives Matter? Nowhere to be found, since the cops didn't do any of it. BLM doesn't seem to care about violence done to blacks if the police are not involved , even though black on black is by many multiples more lethal and more common, resulting in exponentially more black casualties. BLM's primary interest appears to be smashing the state, creating revolution with their pals in Antifa in order to take power themselves.

BLM and Antifa aren't about improving black lives. They exist to put Democrats in power. Period.

The MSM's coin of the realm

If you don't get anything else accomplished today, make sure you read this article . More than any other article today, this is the article that will provide the most evidence that the MSM isn't honest. Clay Travis writes "On Sunday a major positive milestone was reached for the first time, coronavirus deaths declined by 90% in this country from the high set on April 21st. That's an incredibly positive story about our national battle with the virus. Yet, shockingly, it has received almost no media attention."

Travis continues, saying "That's indefensible because this is not complicated data to track down. You can see it yourself on this chart here, on April 21st 2,693 people died of the coronavirus. Yesterday 267 died. Putting that number into perspective, an average of 7200 people died on Sunday of something other than the coronavirus and those deaths received almost no media attention at all."

Here's Travis's tweet that ties things together:

The week prior to President Trump's rally, Democrats insisted that holding the Tulsa rally would bring the United States back to the terrible old days when NYC had "132,467 cases, including 9,101 confirmed coronavirus deaths and 4,582 probable coronavirus deaths, NYC Health said." That's from an article dated April 20, 2020. Those statistics are cumulative.

Let's stipulate that 1 death is too many, 267 is far too many but 9,101 (cumulative in NYC) is a catastrophe. Let's further stipulate that shrinking the COVID deaths from 2,693 to 267 is a dramatic improvement. Democrats complain that various states, including Oklahoma where the rally was held, are experiencing spikes. A 20% increase in deaths would constitute a spike. That's an increase from 267 to 320 nationwide . There were days in NYC when they topped that amount easily.

(For the coronabros out there, yes Sunday tends to be the lowest day of the week, but if you want to use the seven day moving average instead of Sunday, the data still reflects a 70+% decline in mortality, a similarly wildly positive story.)

This is why you don't hear positive news:

Almost no mainstream media outlets in the country have made note of the collapsing coronavirus death total in this country. Why is that?

It's certainly not because the media is attempting to share fair and balanced journalism with its audience, it's because they've recognized fear porn drives engagement, even if it isn't reflecting reality. Scaring people to death works. Emotion is the coin of the social media realm and logical analysis of facts is disfavored if it doesn't elicit the same firestorm of social media pandemonium.

It's time to put social media into the proper perspective. Most of it isn't fit to publish in the National Enquirer. Then again, much of the trash that's published in the Washington Post, CNN and the NYTimes isn't fit for the Enquirer, either.

Take a deep breath. Find some authors that are reliably truthful, then trust them to inform you. If you do that, you'll save lots of headaches. From what I've seen thus far, Outkick is trustworthy.

Dismantling the Minneapolis police

If Lisa Bender, Jeremiah Ellison and the rest of the Minneapolis City Council think dismantling the Minneapolis Police Department will be easy, then they're too stupid to hold elected office. This article alone makes their goal a steep uphill fight. That's without considering the possibility that people whose homes and businesses were just demolished or looted might not vote for less police protection.

According to WCCO-TV News, "ShotSpotter technology has picked up more than 1,600 gunshots in Minneapolis in the past 30 days." Later in the article, WCCO reports "Just after 2:30 p.m., four people were shot near the 1600 block of Morgan Avenue North. At about 4:09 p.m., four more people were shot at West Broadway and North Lyndale avenues. At 6:41 p.m., another person was shot near North 25th Avenue and North 4th Street. In addition to Monday's shootings, one man was killed and another was critically wounded in a double stabbing in downtown Minneapolis ."

To the idiot Democrats on the Minneapolis City Council, additional law enforcement officers are needed, not less. This is so straightforward that even a Democrat should be able to figure it out within 3-4 guesses. (Republicans would figure it out the first time but that's a totally different discussion.)

The shootings prompted Frey to call on the Hennepin County Sheriff's office, the Minnesota State Patrol and others for help. "That's the ATF, that's the Secret Service, that's the FBI for investigative purposes," Frey said.

Little towns can get away with not having a fulltime police force. Minnesota's biggest city can't rely on outside law enforcement agencies from the county, state and feds.

This is the time for the activists on the Minneapolis City Council to make a decision. That decision is whether they want to remain hair-brained, irresponsible activists or whether they want to become adults and start governing like adults. If Lisa Bender, Jeremiah Ellison, et al, want to remain activists, then it's up to Minneapolis voters to reject the Council's charter amendment and throw out the childish activists.
The people of Minneapolis need police protection. Without the police, there won't be people downtown. There won't be businesses opening up. There's only businesses leaving. This pattern is detectable. The same thing is happening on a smaller scale in St. Cloud.

Rules for Retrogrades

Rules for Retrogrades
a book by Timothy and David Gordon
Review By John W. Palmer, Ph.D.

Michael Voris of Church Militant, a Catholic media organization, in his June 8th Vortex commentary highlights what Black Lives Matter stands for. He also calls attention to a victim of intolerance. In his article, Voris wrote "Popular Catholic commentator Tim Gordon was on social media last week talking about these very facts when BLM supporters struck and began doxxing him on social media platforms, calling for him to lose his job at the Catholic high school where he taught. We say taught, past tense, because within hours after the BLM campaign against him began, the diocese of Fresno, under the leadership of Bishop. Joseph Brennan dumped Gordon on the spot and told him not to come back. Anyone that thinks they are going to remain safe as the great Marxist steamroller plows through society still does not realize the reality. If you don't stand and ?ght now, even in the face of persecution, what comes after this is going to be far worse."

I share this information as an introduction to an important book for people who wish to defend what is right and true. Tim Gordon and his brother David have recently launched a Youtube channel , named after their book Rules for Retrogrades: Forty Tactics to Defeat the Radical Left. The Gordons have penned a worthy response to Saul Alinsky's Rules for Radicals.

What is a retrograde? (from the promo page at Tim's website) A retrograde calculates, night and day, how to return the world to:

  1. the Old Order of moral and sexual decency,

  2. classical masculinity,

  3. national sovereignty and national borders,

  4. faith, hope and charity,

  5. goodness, beauty and truth,

  6. Christian civic liberty,

  7. and most importantly, the social kingship of Christ.

In the words of Shakespeare, a retrograde is one of God's spies. The retrograde has the unique capacity for understanding the stark chasm between the degenerate, socialist-in?ltrated world of decay on one side and the well-meaning, good-hearted, but clueless Christian world on the other. In a time of such profound decay, being one of God's spies is a last resort and a pure necessity: it involves not "deep cover," - i.e., acting like the enemy - but rather "half cover": acting as a 'contra' in the secular arena, a crypto-Christian counterinsurgent willing to ?ght like a Navy Seal and to think like a counterintelligence of?cer. Retrogrades . . . to the streets: our aim is to reverse the deliberate, deuced machinations of "radicals" like Saul Alinsky who, by penning the rulebook of radicalism, threw down a challenge that has, until now, gone unanswered.

Rules for Retrogrades is the handbook men of good will need to win the culture war! Patrick Cof?n, a well respected Catholic commentator, writes this about Rules for Retrogrades: 'If you take your prose pugnacious, your meat red, and your politics incorrect, then you might be ready for Rules for Retrogrades. This isn't a book so much as a crowbar. The Brothers Gordon have marshaled 40 tactics that are guaranteed to provoke not only pony-tailed boomers but also cautious mod-cons, dour trans, and unsuspecting boomers."

Rule 11 has special meaning to me since my experience with a variety of media hit attacks directed at me when I spoke out with the truth regarding the refugee resettlement program. Rule 11 Never Trust a Man Who is Unwilling to Have Enemies. Here are a few more examples of rules for retrogrades. Rule 6 Never Compromise with Radicals on their Initiatives resonates with recent events impacting our nation. Rule 5 Risus bellum est (translation at the end) supporting narrative begins with this sentence: The only possible response by a sane man to an insane claim is laughter and ridicule. Rule 26 The memory of the Western public is exceedingly short, pathetically undisciplined, and never to be feared. Rule 33 Stop heralding unwelcome news of progressive victories by wishfully proclaiming that radicals have "awaked a sleeping giant."

Each of the 40 rules are accompanied by explanatory narratives which help the reader understand the rule and the need for the rule. At 160 pages, about 4 pages for each rule, you will ?nd this book an easy but insightful read. Rules for Retrogrades is a book you will want to keep close at hand after your ?rst reading as you engage in the culture war between the progressives and radicals and the conservatives and retrogrades. As we have seen the events unfold over the past weeks and days we do not need our imagination to see what losing the struggle with radicalism means. Our country is on the brink of a dark abyss and we retrogrades need to be both informed and supported with sound tactics and steely resolve. I do hope you will take time to explore Rules for Retrogrades and visit Tim Gordon's website , your time will be well spent. ~ Rule 5 (English) Laughter is war.
