Biden's disastrous presser


For those who didn't watch Joe Biden's press conference from Delaware, you're fortunate. I tried watching it but I simply couldn't watch for more than a few minutes at a time. Biden's penchant for losing track of what he was saying, Biden's long gaps without saying anything and Biden's total lack of command of issues showed why Biden is hiding. It's actually quite sad to watch.

The first clip I'll highlight highlights how Biden doesn't have a presence at the podium:


He's struggling just to remain relevant at his own press conference . As I said, it's a sad sight. Next, Biden 'addresses' the issue of the mob destroying historic statues and monuments:


At least, he tried to address the issue. Biden's mental capacity is diminishing fast. I'm not sure he knows where he is half the time. Like I said earlier, it's sad to watch. This clip is the hardest for me to watch:


It's impossible for me to believe that he knows he's in Delaware. In that clip, he literally couldn't put 2 coherent sentences together. That's disgusting. If he can't do that, why should I think he could think straight in a crisis or when he's confronting a world leader like Xi Jinping?

I don't take any pleasure in saying this. Vice President Biden isn't physically or mentally capable to handle the job of president. At this point, I'm not certain he could handle running a neighborhood lemonade stand. This is why his team kept him away from the press for so long.

To be fair, he sounded somewhat authoritative when reading his teleprompter remarks. The bad news is that he fell apart the minute he started answering questions. It isn't surprising that those were the only clips CNN showed of him. Finally, Biden buried himself by saying he'd eliminate most of the Trump tax cuts. I'm betting that the Trump campaign will hammer Biden with that this fall.

Seattle finally liberates CHOP/CHAZ


It took Jenny Durkan long enough to realize that the occupation of the CHOP/CHAZ Zone wouldn't turn into a "summer of love." Long ago, CHOP/CHAZ had turned into a zone where criminals ran free. This morning, the Seattle Police moved into CHOP and liberated that part of Seattle :

Seattle police have begun clearing out the protest area known as the Capitol Hill Organized Protest, or CHOP, making more than a dozen arrests after Mayor Jenny Durkan declared the gathering an unlawful assembly.

Police issued the order to disperse around 5 a.m. local time Wednesday, telling protesters to leave within eight minutes. At least 13 protesters have been arrested so far for failing to clear the area after multiple warnings, police said. As officers in riot gear performed the predawn sweep to clear holdouts from the streets, police said a woman apparently went into labor on the east side of Cal Anderson Park inside the CHOP. Seattle Fire said it was responding to the scene.

This was long overdue. The Zone had turned from an anarchist's heaven into an authoritarian hell. Originally, Mayor Durkan spun the Zone as a 6-block summer block party. When rapes and murders were reported, that spin effectively melted. Then there's this:


That's what CHOP violence looks like. Soon, the thugs will be migrating to a different liberal city where a different spineless Democrat will let them run roughshod over a different city. If there's anything that's apparent, it's that Jim Clyburn lied through his teeth when he said that there isn't a connection between liberal mayors and rampant crime.

Sorry, Jimbo, but there's a distinct connection between liberal mayors and crime. These mayors identify with these mobs' agendas. In some instances, they count on their votes. These mayors are into "reimagining" their police departments. In their minds, that means assuming that criminals aren't violent and that crimes are really just misunderstandings. That's crimefighting from a pacifist's perspective.

The memorable line from the briefing: "Enough is enough." That being said, the memorable line for me is that she said she'd work with Black Lives Matter. Best isn't as hair-brained as Durkan but she isn't a Giuliani either.

Dems' permissiveness costs lives


There's a price that's getting paid by citizens for liberal permissiveness. Democrats keep making the same mistakes while expecting different results. In NYC, their Democrat City Council voted last night to cut funding to the NYPD by $1,000,000,000. That's billion with a B. That's a 17% cut in the NYPD budget. Predictably, violent crime is way up. Predictably, the defund crowd isn't satisfied. They want more.

This proves an old cliche that says "the gap between more and enough never closes . Put differently, appeasement doesn't work. The end result of this is a massive uptick in unexpected retirements :

A total of 272 uniformed NYPD officers filed retirement papers between the day George Floyd was killed and June 24, which represents an increase of 49% from the same time period last year.

Expect that many of the officers who planned on starting today for the NYPD will find jobs with other PDs. It's virtually guaranteed.

In Seattle, Jenny Durkan's permissiveness cost people their lives. At least 2 young people were murdered and perhaps more lost their lives. While she appeared on CNN to tell Chris Cuomo about Seattle's "summer of love", violent crimes increased. This is what Democrat Gov. Jay Inslee said on June 11:

"I spoke with @MayorJenny and her team about the situation on Capitol Hill," Inslee said in a tweet on June 11. "Although unpermitted, and we should remember we are still in a pandemic, the area is largely peaceful. Peaceful protests are fundamentally American, and I am hopeful there will be a peaceful resolution."

This morning, police arrested anarchists and retook control of the CHOP/CHAZ Zone. So much for peaceful protests. Rep. Doug Collins, a Republican from Georgia, tweeted this:


In Minneapolis, Jacob Frey's and Tim Walz's permissiveness led to a week of destruction, which led to entire neighborhoods getting destroyed. Since then, the Powderhorn Park neighborhood has said that it's ok for homeless people to use the city park . They said that they wouldn't call the police. That neighborhood's permissiveness with the homeless has led to the Park becoming a favorite meeting place for drug dealers and their clients. It's also become a favorite meeting place for johns meeting prostitutes. What a lovely-sounding neighborhood.

This quote is utterly absurd:

Durkan's order on Wednesday, despite Best's statement that CHOP was "lawless and brutal," did praise the people of CHOP, saying " much of the expression has been peaceful and created community solidarity for Black Lives Matter, including features such as a community garden, public art, and conversation corner..."

That's like saying that the seas that the Titanic dealt with were mostly peaceful except for one ice chunk. That's like saying that the play where Lincoln was assassinated was a fine event with just one burst of unpleasantness.

The Democrats' permissiveness has literally gotten people killed. More passivity will only make things worse. The worst news is that Democrats haven't learned from the Democrats' passivity.

The 2020 election hinges on taming the mob & restarting the economy


Saying that this election hinges on taming the various mobs (Black Lives Matter, Antifa and Justice Democrats) while jumpstarting the economy. That requires mental toughness, agility in messaging and the willingness to proverbially cut the Democrats' heart out. Anyone that's watched what's happened to babies through teenagers in Chicago and thinks that the mob can be dealt with isn't paying attention. That's just stupid thinking. Anyone that's watched what's happened in Minneapolis, specifically along Lake Street, and still thinks that this election isn't a street fight is kidding themselves.

Antifa, BLM and the Justice Democrats have Biden right where they want him. He isn't capable of putting 2 straight sentences together, which means that Democrats can push him to do whatever they want him to do. What they want him to do is be a trojan horse, someone that looks harmless at first, then transforms into society's worst nightmare.

For instance, the Justice Democrats state on their website that "Justice Democrats is working to elect a mission-driven caucus in Congress that will fight for solutions that match the scale of our many crises: skyrocketing inequality, catastrophic climate change, deepening structural racism as the country becomes more diverse, and the corporate takeover of our democracy."

That isn't all the Justice Democrats say. Here's more:

We need a Democratic Party that fights for its voters, not its corporate donors. That's why we helped elect leaders like Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez to Congress. We need leadership in the Democratic Party that will represent and fight for our communities.

After NYC cut $1,000,000,000 from the NYPD budget last night, AOC said this :

Defunding police means defunding police. It does not mean budget tricks or funny math. It does not mean moving school police officers from the NYPD budget to the Department of Education's budget so the exact same police remain in schools."

The Resistance isn't disappearing. It's getting stronger. If thoughtful people of all political stripes don't recognize this, they should be ostracized. The Democrats' political hacks, like Donna Brazile, Marie Harf and Jessica Tarlov can assure us that Democrats don't want to defund police departments all they want. They're either lying or they're just stupid.

I don't buy the notion that they're stupid. They know that police forces are funded at the municipal level, not the federal level. It doesn't matter what Pelosi or Jim Clyburn or Joe Biden says on the subject. The voices that matter are the voices of people most voters haven't heard of. People like Lisa Bender and Jeremiah Ellison have infinitely more say in police budget matters.

It isn't a stretch to say that the Justice Democrats essentially run the Democrat Party. They just took out Elliot Abrams in a primary. They almost beat Amy McGrath in Kentucky's primary. Here's their entire list of candidates.

This isn't the time for nitpicking. It's the time to fight like hell. Idiots like Mitt Romney should be criticized for supporting Black Lives Matter. Did Mitt even know that BLM's co-founders admitted that they were "trained Marxists"?


Wake up Mitt. This isn't some innocent organization. They'll rip your heart out, too, after they've used you. You're just a useful idiot that they'll use on their way to achieving power that will lead to the overthrow of this constitutional republic.

Politicians, it's time to set aside the partisanship. It's time for everyone to put America first . To Nancy Pelosi, Chuck Schumer, Jim Clyburn and other Democrats, it's time to set aside the partisanship that's been part of your system. Sit down in good faith with Tim Scott and negotiate a principled compromise with him. If Van Jones can work with Jared Kushner on the police reform executive order, then it's certainly possible for you to negotiate in good faith.

If you can't do that, then just step aside. Let others who can work in good faith finish this legislation. It's time to fix what's broken. Americans have the right to safety. Eliminate the idiotic ideas about eliminating police departments. Tell the activists who want deep cuts in police department budgets to take a hike. The vast, vast majority of Americans want that for their kids and expect that from their politicians.

If you won't do what's right, we'll find people who will. You think that you're irreplaceable? I'm telling you that you're only essential if you do what's right for the people.

Seattle still hasn't notified Horace Lorenzo Anderson Sr.


The Democrat-controlled cesspool of Seattle still hasn't notified Horace Lorenzo Anderson Sr. of his son's death. In a riveting 36-minute interview with Fox's Sean Hannity, Anderson poured his heart out to Sean Hannity. Anarchists blocked police officers and first responders from reaching the younger Anderson inside the CHOP. This article appears to confirm the story.

According to the Washington Post article, "As those celebrations continued after dark and mixed with general Friday-night revelry and end-of-school-year celebrations, a volatile mixture of fireworks, alcohol and firearms triggered violence. Early Saturday morning, two men suffered gunshot wounds. A 19-year-old died and the other, age unknown, is in critical condition in the intensive care unit at Harborview Medical Center, hospital spokeswoman Susan Gregg confirmed to The Washington Post."

During his interview, Anderson Sr. opened up to Hannity because Hannity reached out to him in a father-to-father conversation:

Horace Lorenzo Anderson Sr., the father of a 19-year-old black man who was shot and killed last month inside Seattle's Capitol Hill Occupied Protest (CHOP) publicly pleaded for answers on "Hannity" Wednesday night, saying police and Seattle Mayor Jenny Durkan had failed to reach out to him since his son's death. At that point, Hannity stopped the conversation, stunned with what he was hearing.

Anderson Sr. broke down in tears as he recalled learning of his son's death. "The only way I found out was just two of his friends, just two friends that just happened to be up there and they came and told me," he said. "They weren't even from Seattle. Now, mind you, I haven't heard -- the police department, they never came ...

About 8:18 into the interview, Anderson Sr. told Hannity "they wouldn't even let me see my son that night. It took me a whole week before I could see my son." That prompted Hannity to react, saying "Whoa, whoa, whoa. You weren't allowed to see your son for a week?" Towards the end of the interview, Hannity said "We can do better than this. Some people would turn this into a gun debate. No. Just every city needs to create a zone. We'll call it a 'safe and secure zone' so that every child could have a childhood and have coaching..."

Hannity is right when he said that this isn't about politics. He's right because it's about government protecting the American family. In this segment, Hannity nails it, saying that this isn't about politics, that "you can't pursue happiness, you can't pursue a more perfect union, if you're not safe":

Whether it's Seattle, Minneapolis, Chicago or St. Louis, these cities must do a better job of protecting their citizens. Reimagining policing or whatever the catchy phrase of the day is is garbage. We know what works because Rudy Giuliani gave us the blueprint. Executing Mr. Giuliani's blueprint guarantees successful outcomes. Period.

Set aside the goofiness of white privilege and systemic racism. There is racism. It just isn't systemic. Systemic racism is a term used to indict entire cities. Broad brushes smear innocent people. No thank you.

Seattle needs to contact Mr. Anderson. Then they need to apologize for not fulfilling its responsibilities.

June's jobs report & the economy


By now, everyone living in civilization has heard that the U.S. economy created 4,800,000 jobs in June . Not only that but the unemployment rate dropped from 13.3% to 11.1%. That doesn't mean that Democrats didn't try splashing cold water on the report. Pelosi's statement is classic partisanship:

The early June snapshot in the jobs report, when the economy was opening up too early, does not reflect the coronavirus spiraling out of control, forcing communities that had begun to reopen to close once again.

Unemployment continues to be higher than any previous period since World War II. We have reached 15 straight weeks of more than 1 million Americans applying for unemployment insurance and tens of thousands of new coronavirus cases reported each day, as the critical lifelines that are helping to keep American families and communities above water expire. Economists, scientists and even the Chair of the Fed have indicated that if we don't deliver the investments in The Heroes Act, we will end up in a worse place economically and health wise.

The economy created 7,500,000 jobs in the last 2 months but Ms. Pelosi insists on accentuating the negative. In fact, she's lying to make things seem worse than they are. Saying that the coronavirus is "spiraling out of control" is as stupid as when Ms. Pelosi said that "Republicans were trying to get away with murder, George Floyd's murder":

What a whack job. Yes, we're experiencing a spike but we know what we need to do to get that under control. Potentially, that's a momentary blip because it's easily fixed. Joe Biden's tax hikes aren't a momentary blip. Those would be permanent. The Democrats' tax policy would certainly push corporations back overseas, which means lower wage growth, lower workforce participation rates, lower consumer confidence and higher unemployment rates for minorities and women.

Speaking of Biden, he apparently couldn't wait to look stupid :

Biden noted that only a third of the jobs lost in March and April have returned and stressed that "most of those jobs that returned are people on temporary furlough. That means these were the easiest jobs to get back as we reopened cities and states. It's only going to get harder from here though."

Nobody thought that we'd get all 40,000,000 jobs back in a month, Joe. The whole point of the PPP was to make sure small businesses could ramp back up the minute we got past the hardest part of the virus. If that's the criteria, then the PPP, which Nancy Pelosi delayed twice in her attempt to get a few extra items on the Democrats' wish list, is a huge success.

That bill wasn't put together by Joe Biden, Nancy Pelosi or Chuck Schumer. The PPP was put together by people like Steve Mnuchin, Peter Navarro, Mike Pence, Chuck Grassley and Mitch McConnell. If Biden is elected, only Grassley would be there to put together economic packages that actually work.

Do we really want to return to the Obama-Biden days of shipping jobs overseas? Shouldn't we prefer the great pre-COVID Trump economy over the 8 years of lackluster economic growth of the Obama-Biden economy?

I can't watch the NFL either?


I already stopped watching the NBA last fall when the NBA decided that siding with China was more important than standing with the free people of Hong Kong. LeBron James lectured us about how nuanced US foreign policy is, especially when he's relying on opening Chinese markets to sell products with his name on them. It doesn't matter to him that the athletic gear that bears his name is made in Chinese sweat shops with child labor. That nuance isn't worthy of King James' consideration.

Now, the NFL is jumping into bed with Black Lives Matter and other Marxists. The NY Post reports that "the league will have renditions of 'Lift Every Voice And Sing,' traditionally known as the Black national anthem, played before 'The Star-Spangled Banner' as the NFL's regular season gets underway. The NFL is also considering other ways to recognize the victims of police brutality during the upcoming season, which is slated to start on Sept. 10. Among those ideas is listing the names of victims on helmet decals or jersey patches, per ESPN."

It isn't that I hate recognizing "the victims of police brutality." It's that they're ignoring the black-on-black crime that happens every weekend in Chicago. Those lives apparently don't matter to the NFL. Further, the NFL is infamously leftist. DeMaurice Smith, the current leader of the NFLPA, was part of President Obama's transition team in 2008. Joe Lockhart, a professional partisan hack for the Clinton administration, was also part of the NFL's league office. When he was part of the Clinton administration, he was the WH Press Secretary.

The decision comes in the weeks after commissioner Roger Goodell admitted the league fumbled its handling of previous peaceful protesting done by players. The NFL has since committed $250 million to fight systemic racism over the next 10 years, and Goodell has urged teams to sign quarterback Colin Kaepernick, who has been unable to land a contract since he knelt during the national anthem to protest police brutality in 2016.

Tonight, I've talked with several friends. When I told them about this, these friends immediately said that they wouldn't watch the NFL anymore. I then told them that I'd already made that decision. First, I wholeheartedly dispute the notion of systemic racism. That's a quick dodge of personal responsibility. Check this stupidity out:

It's time to start ignoring the NFL, too. If they're hopping into bed with leftists and Marxists, which they are, they won't get my business. The NFL is caving to the NFLPA to "recognize the victims of police brutality" but they aren't doing anything to recognize the victims of black-on-black crimes? What's up with that? That's what people without principles do. That isn't what mature men of integrity do.

I'm fairly certain that there's more than me and my friends that think the same way out there. When people turn off their TVs in droves, I'll be there to say I told you so. Finally, let's finish with a little humor from Yogi Berra :

If people don't want to come out to the ball park, nobody's gonna stop 'em.

Amen, Yogi. For that matter, I won't even watch them on TV.

Tim Walz wants a federal bailout


Now that Minnesotans told Tim Walz and the DFL that they wouldn't pay for his and Jacob Frey's failure to respond to the Minneapolis/George Floyd rioting, Walz is looking for a different target to fleece for his incompetence. Gov. Walz " has asked President Trump for a federal disaster declaration " to pay for Gov. Walz's and Mayor Frey's hesitation and poor preparation. The DFL wants to make stupid decisions without there being a financial disciplining. This money shouldn't come from Minnesota or federal taxpayers. It should come from Minneapolis DFL taxpayers. Period. Full stop.

In this statement , Walz wrote "We need to come together to ensure Minnesotans who were victims of this destruction have access to critical infrastructure they need so they can go to the grocery store, pick up their medication, and live their lives. Together, we will rebuild." Those things must be restored immediately. The people who looked the other way while Antifa, the anarchists and Black Lives Matter rioted and burned Minneapolis to the ground should pay for it.

If the Minneapolis City Council wants to dismantle the Minneapolis Police Department, then taxpayers shouldn't bail these DFL idiots out. If Jeremiah Ellison wants to support the BLM rioters, which he has, then DFL Minneapolis taxpayers should pay the price for electing such idiots. Peggy Flanagan, Walz's Lt. Gov., jumped into the conversation:

"We are committed to helping our communities rebuild, but we can't do this on our own," said Lieutenant Governor Peggy Flanagan. "While state, tribal, and local budgets are stretched thin by COVID-19, we need everyone to step up, including the federal government, to restore safety and critical infrastructure to our communities."

What's needed are leaders who aren't activist appeasers or outright idiots. If Minneapolis insists on continually electing idiots like Sharon Sayles-Belton, R.T. Rybak, Betsy Hodges and Jacob Frey, there should be a penalty for such stupidity.

The principle is the same as California electing idiot after idiot as governor or state legislator. That's their right but they shouldn't expect a bailout for implementing their stupid policies. That's their problem.

If people, in this case Minneapolis, don't have to pay a price for their foolish decisions, there's no incentive to stop making foolish decisions. I don't want to pay for other people's foolishness. Why should I get punished for others' foolishness? The men who wrote the Constitution insisted on a concept called federalism. That way, each state was free to succeed or fail based on their policy decisions. They understood that they'd get hurt by sloppy decision making. People had the option to move to other states that were better run.

That competition gave governors the incentive to make smart decisions. If people don't get disciplined, there's no reason for them to start making better decisions. When the mob insists on making stupid decisions like this, they're on their own:

It's predictable that Walz would ask for a federal bailout, especially after Senate Republicans said no to his demands. It's time for Walz and Frey to face the music. It's time that they paid a political price for their terrible decision-making. It's time because they both deserve it.

Learning life lessons from the Declaration of Independence


Saying that the Declaration of Independence is a great teaching tool is understatement. Let's get started with today's lessons. Here's what the opening paragraph states:

The unanimous Declaration of the thirteen united States of America , When in the Course of human events, it becomes necessary for one people to dissolve the political bands which have connected them with another, and to assume among the powers of the earth, the separate and equal station to which the Laws of Nature and of Nature's God entitle them, a decent respect to the opinions of mankind requires that they should declare the causes which impel them to the separation.

At the time of this Declaration, the colonies had suffered consequential harm, especially in terms of political representation. The Colonies had taxes levied on them that they didn't get to vote on. It isn't a stretch to say that they were treated like second-class citizens.

Despite being mistreated, that didn't prevent our Founding Fathers from explaining why they were taking the extraordinary steps they were about to take. The first part of the second paragraph lays the foundation for the rest of the Declaration:

We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness.--That to secure these rights, Governments are instituted among Men, deriving their just powers from the consent of the governed, --That whenever any Form of Government becomes destructive of these ends, it is the Right of the People to alter or to abolish it, and to institute new Government, laying its foundation on such principles and organizing its powers in such form, as to them shall seem most likely to effect their Safety and Happiness.

This was a revolutionary proposition. In England, government was instituted by the ruling class. It didn't require "the consent of the governed." Further, this declaration wasn't a hastily prepared reaction. The Declaration was well-researched and well-reasoned.

Prudence, indeed, will dictate that Governments long established should not be changed for light and transient causes; and accordingly all experience hath shewn, that mankind are more disposed to suffer, while evils are sufferable, than to right themselves by abolishing the forms to which they are accustomed. But when a long train of abuses and usurpations, pursuing invariably the same Object evinces a design to reduce them under absolute Despotism, it is their right, it is their duty, to throw off such Government, and to provide new Guards for their future security.

This Declaration wasn't the result of a temper tantrum. The Colonists listed the reasons for their Declaration. Here are the first few:

To prove this, let Facts be submitted to a candid world.

He has refused his Assent to Laws, the most wholesome and necessary for the public good.

He has forbidden his Governors to pass Laws of immediate and pressing importance, unless suspended in their operation till his Assent should be obtained; and when so suspended, he has utterly neglected to attend to them.

He has refused to pass other Laws for the accommodation of large districts of people, unless those people would relinquish the right of Representation in the Legislature, a right inestimable to them and formidable to tyrants only.

He has called together legislative bodies at places unusual, uncomfortable, and distant from the depository of their public Records, for the sole purpose of fatiguing them into compliance with his measures.

He has dissolved Representative Houses repeatedly, for opposing with manly firmness his invasions on the rights of the people.

He has refused for a long time, after such dissolutions, to cause others to be elected; whereby the Legislative powers, incapable of Annihilation, have returned to the People at large for their exercise; the State remaining in the mean time exposed to all the dangers of invasion from without, and convulsions within.


The cost of liberty is eternal vigilance. Let this generation and future generations live up to that high standard.
