Twins hitting on all cylinders

After tonight's game, it's difficult to say that the Minnesota Twins aren't the best team in the AL Central. This isn't meant as disrespecting the Cleveland Indians. It's simply meant as a compliment to the Twins for the season they're having.

It's fair to say that Jake Odorizzi, tonight's starting pitcher for the Twins, didn't have his best stuff tonight starting out. Meanwhile, Mike Soroka, the Braves' 22-year-old starter, kept putting up perfect innings the first 3 innings. Unfortunately for Soroka, the Twins tend to figure pitchers out by the 4th inning. That's what they did tonight.

Bookending the Twins 4th inning rally were Nelson Cruz, who beat out a 2-out infield chopper to start the rally, and Luis Arraez. How appropriate that the Twins' elder statesman (Cruz) and the youngest Twins rookie (Arraez) would put the Twins ahead 2-0. Yes, the Twins lead the MLB in homeruns but the Twins are very good hitters, too.

Odorizzi settled down and gave the Twins another quality start (6 innings pitched, 1 earned run) but failed to earn the victory. After the Twins' bullpen let the Braves tie the score 3-3, the Twins got 2 sterling innings from Trevor May, who earned the victory.

Once again, the Braves recorded 2 outs in the bottom of the ninth. Unfortunately for them again, they had to face Luis Arraez again. Arraez broke his bat but the ball landed softly in left field. That prompted Rocco Baldelli to pinch hit for Ehire Adrianza. He picked Miguel Sano be was playing for an extra base hit. Had Arraez gotten an extra base hit, Baldelli said he'd likely have picked a different pinch-hitter. Here's why I'm thankful Arraez got a single:
I've been watching Twins baseball since 1966. Back then, the Twins' slugger was Harmon Killebrew. The announcers then said that "When Harmon hit them, they stayed hit." Today's announcers could say the same thing about Sano's longest blasts. To steal a phrase from announcing legend Joe Garagiola, Sano "is strong enough to hit it out of any park in America -- including Yellowstone."

This is a special Twins team. Whether they're good enough to win the Twins' third World Series championship is another matter. Make no mistake, though, about this. This Twins team is as good as the 1991 World Series championship team, at least thus far.

President Obama's narcissism

President Obama is the last politician who should speak out against mass shootings. After President Obama's statement Monday, President Trump noted that "President Obama had 32 mass shootings during his reign. Not many people said Obama is out of control." It's fair to say that President Obama's language was more restrained than President Trump's language.

What isn't fair is to say that President Trump's language has contributed to these mass shootings. That's nothing except sloppy rationalization. It doesn't have anything to do with the truth.

As was often his habit, President Obama characterized himself as the arbiter of truth and the American way. In 2016, Americans rejected that narcissism and elected President Obama's opposite when they elected President-Elect Trump. In his statement, President Obama said, in part, "We should soundly reject language coming out of the mouths of our leaders that feeds a climate of fear and hatred or normalizes racist sentiments; leaders who demonize those who don't look like us or suggest that other people, including immigrants, threaten our way of life, or refer to other people as sub-human, or imply that America belongs to just one certain type of people."

I don't recall President Obama criticizing anti-Semitic Democrats like Rashida Tlaib or Ilhan Omar compare Jews with animals. President Obama certainly didn't criticize Louis Farrakhan for his anti-Semitic dehumanizing comments. There certainly isn't anything on the record with President Obama criticizing #BlackLivesMatters for this:
Then there's Joaquin Castro's tweet:

I'm so thankful that Democrats aren't doxing people and putting their lives at risk from Antifa thugs. Joaquin Castro is a thug. He should be fired by his constituents for threatening people for being political activists.

The truth is that President Obama is just the highest-profile Democrat political thug. He certainly isn't the only Democrat political thug.

Normal America vs. the politicians

Normal Americans are getting repulsed by the behavior of politicians like Robert Francis O'Rourke, Sen. Spartacus Booker and Tim Ryan in the wake of this weekend's mass shootings. That's in addition to Joaquin Castro essentially threatening President Trump's San Antonio supporters .

Robert Francis O'Rourke, in his best impersonation of being a real man, called President Trump a "white nationalist." Sen. Booker said that it was "the president who must be 'held responsible'," not the shooter.

Unfortunately, this is what I expect from politicians. There isn't a solution to be found anywhere. That's why normal Americans, defined as people who don't see racism motivating white people's every action, got out to the polls and elected Donald Trump as president. They were tired of politicians of both parties not solving problems. They elected the man they saw as Disruptor-in-Chief. They elected President Trump. Thank God for that.

The MSM criticized President Trump's Inauguration Speech, calling it dark. Now, people across this nation think it's dark but needed. Meanwhile, the leading contender to be the Democrats' presidential nominee, Joe Biden, plans on directly linking President Trump to the el Paso shooting :

Saying that President Trump has "fanned the flames of white supremacy in this nation," Democratic presidential primary front-runner Joe Biden on Wednesday will directly link the president to the mass shooting in El Paso, Texas. The charges by former vice president - who will make his case during a speech in Burlington, Iowa - come on the same day as Trump travels to El Paso to visit with law enforcement, first responders and victims of the shooting, which left at least 22 people dead. The president will also stop in Dayton, Ohio, site of another mass shooting this past weekend.

The suspect in the El Paso massacre allegedly wrote a white nationalist manifesto ahead of the shootings. Biden, pointing to the president's divisive immigration rhetoric at campaign rallies and on Twitter, will ask "how far is it from Trump's saying this 'is an invasion' to the shooter in El Paso declaring 'his attack is a response to the Hispanic invasion of Texas?'"

What a blithering idiot. It's stunning to hear the former Vice President of the United States insist that this idiot in Texas did what he did because of something President Trump said.

Normal people understand that the El Paso shooter was a disturbed person and, it turns out, a ticking time bomb waiting for detonation. This has nothing to do with President Trump.

UPDATE: Some of President Trump's San Antonio supporters have started criticizing Rep. Joaquin Castro, (D- TX) for outing them:

One of those Trump donors even revealed he's also been a supporter of local Democratic lawmakers - including Castro himself. Wayne Harwell, the owner of a local real estate development company whose name appeared on the list Castro shared on Monday night, told Fox News in a phone interview that he donated money to Castro's congressional campaign. But he suggested that after Castro outed him in a bid to shame Trump supporters, he won't be supporting Castro anymore.

Rep. Castro probably doesn't care. He 'stood up' to President Trump, which keeps him in good standing with Resist activists, which is all he wants.
Let's be blunt about this. Rep. Castro isn't a man of integrity. Period. Rep. Castro knows that Democrat-affiliated organizations like Antifa and other domestic terrorist organizations affiliated with the Democratic Party will likely visit these contributors for the sole reason of intimidating them for the next campaign. What's most disgusting is that Democrats have employed this tactic since Scott Walker was Wisconsin's governor. That was the entire purpose behind the illegal John Doe investigations.

I don't know what's worse. Vice President Biden is promising to take law-abiding Americans' legal firearms. Rep. Castro is issuing veiled threats to people who've contributed to the campaign of a politician he doesn't approve of. On second thought, this is easy. They're both dirtbag losers who don't give a damn about the Constitution.

Joaquin Castro's unserious denial

Apparently, Rep. Joaquin Castro hasn't learned the first rule of holes. For people like Rep. Castro, the first rule of holes is simple: if you're in one, stop digging. Immediately ! Rep. Castro didn't do that. Instead, he tried defending his indefensible actions. Rep. Castro was accused of "targeting and harassing Americans" by House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy. Rep. Castro replied via Twitter , saying "No one was targeted or harassed in my post. You know that. All that info is routinely published. You're trying to distract from the racism that has overtaken the GOP and the fact that President Trump spends donor money on thousands of ads about Hispanics 'invading' America."

Technically , Rep. Castro is right that this information is published. He's lying through his teeth, however, in saying that it's "routinely" published. Having taken a trip through FEC reports once or twice before, I can state that it's a pain in the butt. Adding what businesses these Trump max donors from San Antonio work at isn't difficult if you have tons of time. However, it's indisputable that it's a labor-intensive project.

Further, saying that "no one was targeted or harassed" in Rep. Castro's tweet is incomplete. It's far more likely that it'll be accurate if the tweet said 'no one was targeted or harassed yet .' Does Rep. Castro think that we've forgotten about this lunatic?
It isn't likely that we'll forget this incident anytime soon:
Does Rep. Castro actually think that his doxing of President Trump's supporters won't trigger Antifa protests against these businesses or these people's homes? If Rep. Castro thinks that we'll buy that BS, then he's insulting our intelligence. Democrats have tried playing the racist/bullying/intimidation game for years. Democrats don't have any fresh solutions but they're well-schooled in intimidation tactics.

America is at a cultural crossroads tonight. We can reject the Resist Movement and return to being the greatest nation on this planet. Either that or we can accept Antifa's intimidation tactics as America's new normal. Personally, I won't accept the Democrats'/Antifa's intimidation tactics. Period. There's nothing normal about the Democrats' intimidation tactics.

What's interesting is that Democrats are using the same tactics that they're accusing President Trump is using. If there are thoughtful Democrats left, it's time to reject these thugs immediately. There's no place in politics for intimidation tactics.

Any sane person knows that the violent rhetoric and violent behavior towards people is coming from the left. Started long ago but the ass clown that occupied the white before Trump gave people cover because he was spewing some of the rhetoric himself. Liberals are the most intolerant people there are and the violence is only going to get worse as their "leaders" continue to spew the hate.

Twitter censorship is real

Anyone that thinks that Big Tech plays fair is utterly delusional. To say that Twitter's actions feel like they're straight from the Twilight Zone is understatement. Here's what happened, according to the article :

The move from the NRSC comes after McConnell's campaign account was locked Wednesday for posting a video of protesters outside his home that included violent threats against the Kentucky Republican. A Twitter spokesperson confirmed the account was temporarily locked for violating the company's "violent threats policy." McConnell's campaign manager, Kevin Golden, said the campaign unsuccessfully appealed the decision and accused Twitter of hypocrisy.

Think about that a second. Twitter suspended Sen. McConnell's account because they highlighted a video showing violent protesters protesting outside Sen. McConnell's home.

"Twitter's hostile actions toward Leader McConnell's campaign are outrageous, and we will not tolerate it," said Jesse Hunt, a spokesman for the National Republican Senatorial Committee. "The NRSC will suspend all spending with Twitter until further notice. We will not spend our resources on a platform that silences conservatives."

The NRCC has announced that it's suspending advertising its spending via Twitter, too. If Democrats were principled, they'd suspend their advertising on Twitter, too. An attack against Republican campaigns is an attack against the entire election system. Unfortunately, Democrats aren't principled. What Twitter is doing is as despicable as what Russia did. Putting a thumb on the scale of our election system is beyond reprehensible.

Democrats repeatedly told us that during the Russia Hoax 'Investigation'. Now that Big Tech is hurting Republicans rather than Russians hurting Democrats, election security doesn't seem to be a priority to Democrats. Isn't that amazing? Who would've thought that?

I don't know what the right solution is to Big Tech but this can't be ignored anymore. Testimony by Big Tech executives saying that they don't tip the scales in the Democrats favor should be treated as lying to Congress. That's because that's what it is.

Joaquin Castro backlash has started

Joaquin Castro intended to intimidate those 44 contributors to President Trump's campaign. Instead, Rep. Castro's intimidation stunt is backfiring :

One of the individuals named by the Texas Democrat estimates that the lawmaker's actions have spurred donors to give more than $1 million toward Trump's reelection effort in recent days. R. H. Bowman told the Washington Examiner his fellow members of "Texas 44," as the San Antonio-based donors refer to themselves, have been on a fundraising frenzy since Castro tweeted about them on Monday, "Their contributions are fueling a campaign of hate that labels Hispanic immigrants as 'invaders.'"

Bowman, an attorney, said that didn't go down well with he and his fellow donors. "My phone's been lit up for two days with calls from many of the Texas 44 and others of our friends here in Texas who are outraged by Castro's comments," Bowman said. "It looks like another million dollars is now headed to support the Trump 2020 campaign from those of us who were targeted, and other Texans, including Hispanics, incidentally, whose resolve to support [the president] is only strengthened by this personal attack."

This is delicious. The Democrats' thug operation attempted to intimidate President Trump's supporters. It's failing miserably. Not only aren't these supporters not intimidated. They're increasing their efforts to hurt Democrats.

They're upset because Democrats insist on labelling anything Trump-related "racist." Joaquin Castro defended himself by saying that "I want those people to think twice about supporting a guy who is fueling hate in this country." That sounds like a threat. Earlier today, Julian Castro tried defending his brother by saying that Joaquin Castro's tweet wasn't technically doxing. Whatever. If it isn't doxing, then it's its cousin. It's a distinction without a difference.

Then again, the Castro Brothers, aka Raul and Fidel, have failed beautifully:

To modify a line from the A-Team, I love it when the Democrats' plans fail like this. It couldn't happen to more deserving assholes.

Epstein allegedly commits suicide

According to this article , alleged sex-trafficker Jeffrey Epstein has committed suicide in his cell:

Jeffrey Epstein, the disgraced millionaire who was facing federal sex trafficking charges, died by suicide Friday night in his Lower Manhattan jail cell, three law enforcement officials told ABC News. The exact timing and circumstances were not immediately clear.

Epstein was placed on suicide watch on July 23 "after he was found unresponsive in his cell".

There's some speculation that Epstein was murdered :

Stay tuned to LFR for more updates as they come in.

That was honestly my first thought. Then, when you read the NY Times article that said he was found unresponsive with "Mark's around his neck"....as opposed to hanged in his cell.....things that make you go hmmmmmmm

Comment 2 by Chad Q at 11-Aug-19 07:23 AM
On the one hand I'm glad the guy is dead but on the other hand, this could have shown what monsters the Clintons really are when he went trial. Speaking of which, maybe Bill and Hillary had a hand in his "suicide". Seems like a lot of people with ties to the Clintons end up committing "suicide".

Comment 3 by eric z at 12-Aug-19 08:01 AM
Acosta gave the Florida plea deal to Epstein on the Bush-Mukasey watch. Would you dare to suggest Acosta acted on his own without clearance top-down? How could anyone believe that? Acosta said he'd been told Epstein had "intelligence" ties. Who told him that has not been examined by the press. Victoria has a lot of secrets.

Comment 4 by eric z at 12-Aug-19 09:06 AM
Would you look up for me, who was head of the FBI when the FBI was involved in the Florida situation resulting in the plea deal? Would the case have been handled wholly locally, or would FBI headquarters have managed from afar?

Elizabeth Warren's pander mode

Apparently, there's nothing that Sen. Elizabeth Warren won't say to become the Democrats' presidential nominee. Last night, Sen. Warren said that Friday was the fifth anniversary of the day "Michael Brown was murdered in Ferguson, MO." As the Blaze said in its article, "this is a bald-faced lie." Indeed it is. First, here's Sen. Warren's tweet:

Guy Benson got it exactly right, tweeting "This is shameful but expected." Then the Twitterverse erupted with the perfect antidote, aka evidence:

Then there's this:

Here's more blowback through Twitter:

This isn't surprising. It's what I'd expect from hardline Democrat radicals like Sen. Warren. She's had a history of lying throughout her political career. She's lied about race before, too. That's very extensively documented.

Add to that the fact that her policies would demolish the great economy that we've got. These questions must be asked:

  1. Why should we elect a politician that doesn't support law enforcement?

  2. Why should we elect a politician who sees racism wherever she turns her eyes to?

  3. Why elect a socialist whose policies would demolish this great economy?

Even the frontrunners for the Democrats are socialists. This isn't a matter of Democrats fighting between moderates and the far left. That fight is over . This is a fight between the extreme left and the far left.

Frankly, the Democrats' presidential candidates are past the point of no return. They're simply nuts.

Ilhan Omar's impressive illogic

When it comes to Democrats displaying illogic, Ilhan Omar is pretty impressive. Last week, former Miss Iraq Sarah Idan criticized Rep. Omar . Appearing on Sara Carter's program, Miss Idan said that Omar "does not represent me as a Muslim, does not represent millions of Muslims Middle East."

Rep. Omar replied, saying "Hey, I might be wrong but I don't think you are a #MN05 resident and like that makes me not your representative." That illogic is frightening. Miss Idan didn't talk about Rep. Omar representing her in Congress. Still, the back-and-forth wasn't over:

Sara Carter jumped to Miss Idan's defense:

Democrats, the supposed political party favored by women, didn't lift a finger to defend a clearly westernized Muslim. Sara Carter, an ace investigative reporter who has broken tons of story investigating the investigators for FNC, jumped to Miss Idan's defense. This isn't surprising. It's just disappointing that Democrats, who used to be huge defenders of civil liberties, wouldn't defend a woman's civil liberties.

The major over-arching issue is that Bill Clinton's Democratic Party is dead. Honestly, since Barack Obama left the White House 3 years ago, his Democratic Party is already on hospice. Today's Democratic Party is filled with socialists and anarchists.

Omar doesn't even represent the people in her district let alone Muslim across the world.

I'm also guessing she did the clapback to Idan herself and it wasn't filtered through her campaign as I believe most of her tweets and replies have been. I believe her to be a lot like Obama, great on script but terrible off the cuff. Or maybe she's too busy with her new %250,000.00 love interest to clapback intelligently.

Have you ever tried to send Ms. Omar a message via her congressional web site? You have to jump through about 20 hoops to prove your a resident of CD-5. What is this woman hiding or hiding from.
