Mueller delivers anti-media letter
This morning, Attorney General William Barr will testify in front of the Senate Judiciary Committee, which is chaired by Lindsey Graham. Less than 12 hours before Barr testifies, a supposed bombshell letter was leaked to the Washington Post .
The headline for the article was "Mueller complained that Barr's letter did not capture 'context' of Trump probe." As usual, the headline isn't what's important. That's the clickbait portion of the article. The important portion of the article is where it says "A day after the letter was sent, Barr and Mueller spoke by phone for about 15 minutes, according to law enforcement officials. In that call, Mueller said he was concerned that news coverage of the obstruction investigation was misguided and creating public misunderstandings about the office's work, according to Justice Department officials. When Barr pressed him whether he thought Barr's letter was inaccurate, Mueller said he did not, but felt that the media coverage of the letter was misinterpreting the investigation , officials said."
To be clear, there were some professional disagreements between Barr and Mueller, starting with this:
Special counsel Robert S. Mueller III wrote a letter in late March complaining to Attorney General William P. Barr that a four-page memo to Congress describing the principal conclusions of the investigation into President Trump "did not fully capture the context, nature, and substance" of Mueller's work, according to a copy of the letter reviewed Tuesday by The Washington Post.
As with most supposed bombshells, this article is more dud than bombshell. Still, it's sure to cause Senate Democrats to rattle their sabers this morning.

Make Minnesota competitive again
It's safe to say that the DFL House majority isn't interested in keeping Minnesota competitive with other states. This DFL majority is intent on raising a whole host of taxes. This AP article highlights the latest DFL partisan vote to raise taxes.
It says "The 74-58 vote on the $7.2 billion package fell mostly along party lines. Majority Democrats stressed during several hours of debate that began Friday the need for a stable, dedicated source of revenue to make badly needed road and bridge improvements. Their proposal would raise the gas tax by a nickel per year for four years for a 70% total increase from the current tax of 28.5 cents per gallon."
Later, the hammer dropped:
Minority Republicans countered that the state already has plenty of money to spend on transportation from existing revenue streams and a projected $1 billion budget surplus. They also pointed to a recent Department of Revenue analysis that found the tax increase would fall hardest on low- and middle-income residents , and said it would make driving more expensive for all Minnesota motorists.
Of course, Dan Wolgamott, my DFL representative, voted the way he was told by DFL Speaker Melissa Hortman told him to. Thus far in his brief legislative career, Wolgamott has voted for billions of dollars of tax increases. It's apparent that Wolgamott, like his DFL puppet masters, intend on hurting taxpayers. It's clear that the DFL views taxpayers as ATM machines.
There's an old saying about how differently Republicans and see the world. It's said that Democrats see every day as April 15th while Republicans see each day as the 4th of July. This article does nothing to dispel that perspective.

Another nothingburger bombshell
If Democrats keep hitching their wagon to the media's clickbait articles, they soon won't have any credibility left. It isn't like Democrats have much left but they're spending what little they have left on questionable reporting because they're desperate. Andy McCarthy laid out the Democrats' latest nothingburger bombshell in this article .
McCarthy, a former assistant US attorney, wrote "'Mueller complained to Barr about memo on key findings.' That's the banner headline at the top of the Washington Post's website Wednesday. But when you click your way to the actual story, it turns out that the headline is not true. Special Counsel Mueller's complaint, which targeted Attorney General Barr's March 24 letter explaining the report, is not about the 'key findings.' It's about the narrative ."
Actually, it's about the media's attempt to stir controversy in the hope that it'll lead to President Trump's impeachment. If pots of gold were found at the bottom of rabbit holes, Democrats would have enough money to fund their campaigns for a generation or more.
On the other hand, if William Barr got a pot of gold each time he stood his ground against an airhead Democrat, he'd have at least 1 pot of gold. Check this out:
KABOOM!!! That's as close to a pancake block as you'll find in the legal profession. Usually, pancake blocks are found only on college football stadiums on Saturday afternoons. In another instance of standing his ground, watch how AG Barr stood his ground against Sen. Hirono, (D-HI), the Democrats' corrupt pit bull from Hawaii:
Sen. Hirono is a disgusting human being. Chairman Graham was right in saying that she "slandered this man from top to bottom. So if you want more of this, you're not going to get it. If you want to ask him more questions, you can." Sen. Hirono is one of the most disgusting Democrats in the Senate. She made at least 4 inaccurate partisan statements. She accused Barr of a) protecting President Trump, b) lying to Senate Judiciary Democrats and c) being "no different from Rudy Giuliani or Kellyanne Conway or any of the other people who sacrifice their once decent reputation for the grifter and liar who sits in the Oval Office."
Sen. Hirono, you're a steaming pile of animal waste. You're out of control, dishonest and, honestly, even worse than Adam Schiff.

Democrats' BS gets thicker
Democrats keep digging their PR hole deeper each day. Today, a multitude of Democrat activists/propagandists in the MSM insisted that Bill Barr lied. E.J Dionne's article is a perfect example of that. Dionne fancies himself as a leading Democrat intellectual, which, if true, is frightening.
Here's one of Mr. Dionne's best arguments:
It's not good enough that a redacted version of the report was eventually made public. For 27 days, the debate over Mueller's findings was twisted by Barr's poisonous distortions that implied a full exoneration of President Trump. Many public statements and much punditry were devoted to insisting that Trump's opponents owed the president an apology, that the Russia matter was never what it was cracked up to be, that the president was free and clear.
Mr. Dionne, is it that difficult to admit that Robert Mueller has closed shop without filing a single indictment of conspiracy or obstruction of justice against anyone connected with President Trump?
For months, Democrats insisted that "the walls are closing in on" President Trump or that Mueller's team was preparing to indict various family members of President Trump's family. None of those things happened. One bombshell after another turned into a dud. Finally, the Mueller team closed up shop after getting Paul Manafort or Michael Cohen to plead guilty for crimes they'd committed long before the Trump campaign started (Manafort) or after President Trump's inauguration (Cohen).
Now, Nancy Pelosi, the leading Democrat in the House, accused AG Barr of lying to Congress without presenting any proof. There seems to be lots of that going around within the Democratic Party. Check this out:
Something's bothering Pelosi. Look how much she's aged since regaining the Speaker's gavel. What's probably bothering her most is the fact that she can't control the pro-impeachment radicals in her caucus.
It was Van Hollen who, two weeks after Mueller had registered his complaint, had asked Barr an un-senatorially direct question: "Did Bob Mueller support your conclusion?" Barr replied: "I don't know whether Bob Mueller supported my conclusion."
Lawyers might argue over whether this was an outright lie, but to call Barr's answer misleading and obfuscatory is rather kind. Trump must have been very proud of his attorney general.
Actually, for people who use nuance and words for a living, it isn't even slightly misleading. Mueller's team was upset. That's entirely different than asking if Mueller himself was upset.
Nowhere in Mr. Dionne's article does he provide proof of his ill-advised allegations. These days, Democrats don't believe in the presumption of innocence or due process but they definitely think allegations and trash-talking constitute proof. Saying that Democrats, starting with Ms. Pelosi, think that the Constitution is a nuisance that gets in the way of them total victory is understatement.
In November, 2020, we need to re-elect Donald Trump, grow the Republican majority in the Senate and retake the majority in the House. I'm confident that that's totally possible, especially if Democrats keep acting this deranged.

Democrats can't stand prosperity. They hate this jobs report.
For the past 6 months, Democrats have consistently tried talking down the economy, suggesting that we were heading for a slowdown, if not a full recession. The economy just won't cooperate with the Democrats. This morning, the Bureau of Labor Statistics, aka the BLS, announced that the US economy created 263,000 jobs in April . Further, "Nonfarm payrolls increased a seasonally adjusted 263,000 in April, the Labor Department said Friday. The unemployment rate fell to 3.6% last month, the lowest level since December 1969. Average hourly wages for private-sector workers grew 3.2% from a year earlier, matching the prior month's increase."
Welcome to Speaker Pelosi's 'Soup line America'. This morning, she released this statement . In the statement, she said "The April jobs report numbers show some promising news, yet these gains hide the true weight of the economic uncertainty felt by millions of hard-working Americans. Unfortunately, the evidence shows that most of the economic gains continue to benefit those already well-off. We must do more to ensure that the economy is benefiting every family in every community, and that all Americans have the opportunity to move ahead in our economy."
First, what the hell is she babbling about? Is she intentionally misleading the American people? Compare Pelosi's negativity with Larry Kudlow's optimism:
Let's be clear about something. The strongest job growth, according to Mr. Kudlow, is "has come from the blue collar sector." Democrats have been attempting to paint a gloomy picture on the economy. That tactic is failing. You things are good when President Trump is getting help from this NYTimes article :
Which workers are benefiting?
The recent gains are going to those who need it most. Over the past year, low-wage workers have experienced the fastest pay increases, a shift from earlier in the recovery, when wage growth was concentrated at the top.
Check out the Times' graphic, too. In Stuart Varney's interview of Larry Kudlow, Mr. Kudlow repeatedly kept referring to the economy being in the "sweet spot."
PS- Check out John Hinderaker's post on the economy. It's both pithy and powerful.

"Trump's economy" is a success
For 2+ years, Democrats have criticized President Trump's economy. The first shit-for-brains Democrat to criticize President Trump's economy was Paul Krugman. In fact, he didn't wait for Trump's inauguration. On Election Night, Krugman said "If the question is when markets will recover, a first-pass answer is never. Under any circumstances, putting an irresponsible, ignorant man who takes his advice from all the wrong people in charge of the nation with the world's most important economy would be very bad news. What makes it especially bad right now, however, is the fundamentally fragile state much of the world is still in, eight years after the great financial crisis."
Krugman later said "Now comes the mother of all adverse effects, and what it brings with it is a regime that will be ignorant of economic policy and hostile to any effort to make it work. Effective fiscal support for the Fed? Not a chance. In fact, you can bet that the Fed will lose its independence, and be bullied by cranks."
After that statement, it's amazing that anyone would listen to him. Unfortunately, they did:

Nobel Prize winning economist Paul Krugman warns a global recession could come this year from CNBC .
Tom Rogan's article asks the right question:
What planet are the Democrats on?
That's a perfect question, although at times I wonder if they're part of the same solar system. For the past 2-3 months, Democrats have peddled the storyline that people aren't feeling the good economy, that the GDP and the great job creation numbers and the rising wage numbers are hiding the misery that most people are feeling.
What the hell are Democrats talking about? Would consumer confidence be soaring if people didn't notice the strong economy? Should people think that nobody's noticing their rising wages and the extra wages in each paycheck?
Of course, they're noticing these things. They'd have to be as dumb as a Democrat to not notice. My advice to LFR readers is simple. Ignore the Democrats' spin. Follow President Reagan's advice :
Don't be afraid to see what you see.
The economy is going gangbusters. Now, though, isn't the time to be lethargic. It's time to mobilize. It's time to defeat the socialists, aka Democrats. Let's not give them the chance to ruin this prosperity cycle.

Sheldon Whitehouse vs. Andy McCarthy
Democrats are foolish to argue against Bill Barr or former US Attorney Andy McCarthy. In this op-ed , Democrat Sen. Sheldon Whitehouse regurgitated the Democrats' chanting points about Attorney General Bill Barr's testimony before the Senate Judiciary Committee. Sen. Whitehouse wrote "First, his testimony was an astonishing exercise in dissembling. Barr gave a head-spinning explanation of why he did not disclose in House testimony the letter in which Robert Mueller forcefully pushed back on Barr's initial summary of the Mueller report. He quarreled over whether his summary was a 'summary.' He said Special Counsel Mueller's concerns, expressed in the letter for everyone to see, were not concerns with Barr, but with the media."
Democrats are hanging their hats on Charlie Crist's questioning of Barr. McCarthy provided the transcript of the important part of the exchange in his article :
CRIST: Reports have emerged recently, General, that members of the special counsel's team are frustrated at some level with the limited information included in your March 24th letter...that it does not adequately or accurately necessarily portray the report's findings. Do you know what they're referencing with that?
BARR: No, I don't. I think - I think...I suspect that they probably wanted more put out, but, in my view, I was not interested in putting out summaries or trying to summarize because I think any summary, regardless of who prepares it, not only runs the risk of, you know, being under-inclusive or over-inclusive, but also, you know, would trigger a lot of discussion and analysis that really should await everything coming out at once. So I was not interested in a summary of the report...I felt that I should state the bottom line conclusions and I tried to use Special Counsel Mueller's own language in doing that.
Here's the video of that exchange:
It's clear that Crist wanted Barr to attempt to speak for others. Barr refused to do that.
During the Senate hearing, Sen. Whitehouse tried conflating Mueller with "the special counsel's team." Then there's this BS:
He said Justice Department policy against indicting a president wasn't the reason Mueller didn't conclude the President broke the law, when the report says the opposite.
Oh really?
Barr said Mueller's report did not conclude if Trump obstructed justice because of "'difficult issues' of law and fact" about whether Trump's actions and intent could amount to obstruction.
This is Mueller's biggest failure. He was paid to make difficult decisions as well as routine decisions. Further, if Mueller objected to Barr's letter, he should've read Barr's letter, then told Barr what he objected to. Mueller rejected the opportunity to read, edit or object to Barr's letter. Waiting 3 weeks to register his complaint stinks like sour grapes.
