The Walz-Ellison-Frey riots

It doesn't require the prognostication skills of Nostradamus to see that there will be lots more riots in Minneapolis this summer. Minnesota's version of the 3 stooges, DFL 'leaders' Tim Walz, Keith X Ellison and Boy Toy Jacob Frey, apparently want to spit on George Floyd's grave, hand over the keys to the state to rioters and withdraw from the red lines they've imposed on the rioters.

If these inept Democrats won't enforce the curfews, then that's what they should become famous for. In 'honor' of their spinelessness, stupidity and corruption, the riots that've already been held and the riots still to come should be called the "The Walz-Ellison-Frey Riots." Let's examine this trio.

First, let's examine Tim Walz, the overwhelmed DFL governor of Minnesota. When Boy Toy Mayor Jacob Frey called him asking for National Guard support, Walz sent the troops. Unfortunately for Minneapolis, he sent them without asking what assignments they'd be needed for and without coordination with the Boy mayor. Thanks to that stupidity, the 3rd Precinct Police Station was essentially decimated.

Thanks to the Walz administration not having a plan for riots, much less large-scale riots like these, the rioters are expanding their terrorist activities to the suburbs. Minnesotans have a right to ask when he'll say 'Enough! I've had it with these rioters. If peaceful protesters mix with the rioters, then they'll get arrested, too.'

Next, there's Boy Toy Jacob Frey. His claim to fame thus far is saying that the Third Precinct Police Station is just brick and mortar, making it expendable compared to human life. Apparently, they didn't teach him that police officers are often asked to run into dangerous situations. Thanks to Frey's combination of spinelessness and stupidity, half of Minneapolis is in flames, the other half gutted or pillaged.

Newt Gingrich is right. These riots aren't typical U.S. riots. They're attempts by anarchists to destroy America.

When Gov. Walz assigned the prosecution of the Floyd murder to Keith Ellison, he turned the prosecution over to a man who isn't interested in prosecuting criminals :

Back in 1993, Ellison teamed up with Vice Lords gangbanger Sharif Willis to lead protests decrying the prosecution of the gangbangers who shot MPD officer Jerry Haaf in the back. Haaf's murder might have been the lowest moment in Minneapolis's history until last week. Ellison was out to torment the police on behalf of the gangbangers.

Turning the Floyd prosecution over to Ellison's office is like telling George Floyd's family that Walz is attempting to lose the case. Ellison isn't a prosecutor. He's an advocate. Prosecutors and advocates mix together like oil and water. They're opposites. Further, Ellison's son, Jeremiah, is a member of the Minneapolis City Council. Check this out:

The apple doesn't fall far from the tree, does it? A skilled prosecutor would have a difficult time getting a conviction thanks to Minnesota's poorly-written laws. Handing the case over to a former defense attorney is like giving up.

If Derek Chauvin isn't convicted, the riots we're experiencing will seem mild compared with the riots that will happen upon Chauvin's acquittal. Those riots will be historic.

President Trump's dramatic speech, visit to St. John's Church

This afternoon, President Trump delivered a passionate speech in the Rose Garden. It's a relatively brief speech, one that's definitely worth reading in its entirety. Several parts jumped out at me, including where he said "we cannot allow the righteous cries and peaceful protesters to be drowned out by an angry mob. The biggest victims of the rioting are peace-loving citizens in our poorest communities, and as their President, I will fight to keep them safe. I will fight to protect you. I am your President of law and order, and an ally of all peaceful protesters."

There was no mistaking what President Trump's primary message was. He delivered that message powerfully and dramatically when he said "A number of state and local governments have failed to take necessary action to safeguard their residence. Innocent people have been savagely beaten, like the young man in Dallas, Texas, who was left dying on the street, or the woman in Upstate New York viciously attacked by dangerous thugs."

Most powerfully, he said this:

That is why I am taking immediate presidential action to stop the violence and restore security and safety in America. I am mobilizing all available federal resources, civilian and military, to stop the rioting and looting, to end the destruction and arson, and to protect the rights of law-abiding Americans, including your Second Amendment rights. Therefore, the following measures are going into effect immediately:

First, we are ending the riots and lawlessness that has spread throughout our country. We will end it now. Today, I have strongly recommended to every governor to deploy the National Guard in sufficient numbers that we dominate the streets. Mayors and governors must establish an overwhelming law enforcement presence until the violence has been quelled.

If a city or a state refuses to take the actions that are necessary to defend the life and property of their residents, then I will deploy the United States military and quickly solve the problem for them .

It's time to stop the violence, whether it's happening in Minneapolis, Philadelphia or Dallas-Fort Worth. Further, I'm tired of hearing about the peaceful protesters' right to protesters. A significant portion of those 'peaceful protesters' got arrested for looting and vandalism.

Jeremiah Ellison, the son of Minnesota's Attorney General Keith Ellison and a Minneapolis City Council member, tweeted this:

So much for peaceful protesters. I get it that Mr. Ellison doesn't represent all protesters. The point is that there isn't a bright defining line between rioters and protesters.

Pelosi, Schumer leadership: spin

After President Trump walked over to St. John's Church, aka the Presidents' Church, Democrat 'leadership', aka Nancy Pelosi and Chuck Schumer, issued a statement criticizing the visit . In their joint statement, Pelosi and Schumer said "Across our country, Americans are protesting for an end to the pattern of racial injustice and brutality we saw most recently in the murder of George Floyd. Yet, at a time when our country cries out for unification, this President is ripping it apart. Tear-gassing peaceful protestors without provocation just so that the President could pose for photos outside a church dishonors every value that faith teaches us."

Marco Rubio, the acting Chairman of the Senate Intelligence Committee, fired back, saying "Many in the media fell for the calculated & deliberate tactics of professional agitators. They knew the street needed to be cleared before 7pm curfew. But they deliberately stayed to trigger police action & get the story they wanted, that 'police attacked peaceful protestors.'"

As for the Pelosi-Schumer statement, blaming President Trump for enforcing the laws exposes these Democrats as the next generation of soft-on-crime McGovern-Carter Democrats. Without enforcing laws, there is nothing to govern. It becomes an Antifa-driven world.

Until now, I'd separated the rioters from the protesters. The more I think this over, the more I'm forced to consider the possibility that the protesters are just a milder version of the rioters. What else should we think when we hear that Joe Biden's campaign staff bailed out the rioters ?

At least 13 Biden campaign staff members posted on Twitter on Friday and Saturday that they made donations to the Minnesota Freedom Fund, which opposes the practice of cash bail, or making people pay to avoid pre-trial imprisonment. The group uses donations to pay bail fees in Minneapolis.

Apparently, Democrats don't care about the destruction that these terrorists create. Democrats see this crisis as an opportunity to increase their political power. The greater good, aka the destruction of Republicans, especially President Trump, is what they're focused on. This statement is beyond dishonest, especially this paragraph:

At this challenging time, our nation needs real leadership. The President's continued fanning of the flames of discord, bigotry and violence is cowardly, weak and dangerous.

That's pathetic. Democrat mayors in Minneapolis, NYC and Philadelphia have let rioters run roughshod over police:
Letting rioters riot is the definition of being "cowardly, weak and dangerous." Letting rioters burn down a police precinct is the definition of being cowardly, weak and dangerous. Pelosi and Schumer are the definition of the 'Hate America First' wing of the Democrat Party.

chickenshit photo-op. chickenshit entourage. pence and jarad at least had the sense to distance themselves. stayed hunkered in the bunker. CNN covered it.

Response 1.1 by Gary Gross at 04-Jun-20 06:59 AM
CNN got it wrong as usual. Trump visited the bunker in the afternoon, long before the rioting started. Then again, who cares? It isn't like CNN cares about the integrity of their 'facts'.

J.B. Pritzker vs. Donald Trump

When President Trump criticized Democrat governors for not stopping riots in their states, some Democrats took offense . Gov. J.B. Pritzker whined the loudest, saying "I had to speak up, and I told him that his rhetoric is inflaming matters, that it's making things worse, and that we need to call for police reform. We need to call for calm, that that's what the president should do and we need national leadership in this regard."

Then Gov. Pritzker sounded like a typical Democrat:

Pritzker also said that what Trump's suggesting is "illegal." "The governor of a state has to ask for federal help. I don't know any governor that intends to do that," he said. "And secondly, you know, you can hear in his rhetoric that he is simply trying to make himself sound like a strong man - almost like a dictator, as if he's going to be responsible for bringing order all the way."

Actually, Pritzker is a blithering idiot. Had he simply read Andy McCarthy's article , he would've known better:

Under Article IV of the Constitution, the United States guarantees every state a republican form of government, protection against invasion, and - on request of the state government - protection from domestic violence. In furtherance of this provision, Congress enacted legislation, most notably the Insurrection Act of 1807, which empowers the president 'to suppress, in any State, any insurrection, domestic violence, unlawful combination, or conspiracy.' Obviously, suppressing such attacks requires deploying the United States armed forces as needed.

Most conservative bloggers have been aware of Article IV of the Constitution and the Insurrection Act of 1807 for several days. It's shameful that a Democrat governor isn't constitutionally literate enough to know these things.
Pritzker said that "Trump is making things worse." It's true that President Trump is making life difficult for do-nothing Democrat governors who aren't protecting their citizens. That's a performance failure on Pritzker's behalf. That isn't a policy or messaging failure on President Trump's behalf.

In Michigan, where police and protesters have skirmished in Grand Rapids despite many demonstrations remaining peaceful, Gov. Gretchen Whitmer, a Democrat, called the president's remarks "dangerous" and said they should be "gravely concerning to all Americans."

The president's comments, she said, "send a clear signal that this administration is determined to sow the seeds of hatred and division, which I fear will only lead to more violence and destruction."

"We must reject this way of thinking. This is a moment that calls for empathy, humanity, and unity," Whitmer said in a statement. "This is one of the most challenging periods in our nation's history, but as Americans, we must remember our enemy is racial injustice, not one another."

How can you be more hateful than Antifa and rioters? What type of blithering idiot would say something like that? A: A Democrat governor. Whitmer saying this time "calls for empathy, humanity, and unity" is another way of saying the moment requires turning the streets over to rioters, looters and anarchists. Ordinarily, I'd say that it's difficult to picture a group of politicians being more stupid than Whitmer and Pritzker. Unfortunately, we have recent events from here in Minnesota that say this is par for the course for Democrats.

Across the nation, Democrats have let rioters run roughshod. In those states, their biggest cities are mostly smoldering ash heaps. Either that or they're still burning buildings. Stores are looted, businesses are destroyed and people live in fear for their lives. That's what acting with empathy, humanity and unity gets you.

Ryan Winkler's race-baiting history

According to this post , John Hinderaker will call for Ryan Winkler to resign entirely from the Minnesota House of Representatives. Mr. Hinderaker is the president of the Center for the American Experiment. Winkler has been the House Majority Leader since the start of the 2019 session. This weekend, Winkler returned to his race-baiting ways, accusing Bogdan Vechirko of driving his tanker truck into a crowd of protesters on one of the I-35W bridges. Here's a tweet showing the truck on the bridge:

Thank God those protesters didn't get hurt. Winkler's tweet was intentionally incendiary and inaccurate. Here's a screen shot of the tweet:

Here's what's left of that tweet on Winkler's timeline:

Here's the text of Mr. Hinderaker's statement, which will be released tomorrow:

Rep. Ryan Winkler's long history of deceitful, divisive behavior

(Golden Valley, MN) - In response to House Majority Leader Ryan Winkler's (DFL-Golden Valley) lie that a white supremacist intentionally tried to murder peaceful protestors on Sunday, John Hinderaker released the following statement:

'DFL House Majority Leader Ryan Winkler has a long history of deceitful, divisive behavior. His conduct is contrary to Minnesota values and the last thing we need in a legislative leader. Rep. Winkler is unfit for office and should resign.'

In 2013, Rep. Winkler tweeted a racial slur against the only black member of the U.S. Supreme Court, Justice Clarence Thomas. In April, he was caught on video giving the middle finger to a Republican senator during a press conference. On Sunday, he slandered a hardworking, immigrant truck driver on Twitter, calling him a white supremacist who intentionally set out to murder peaceful protestors. Sunday's comment was retweeted hundreds of times before Winkler deleted it.

When Winkler tweeted the racial slur , aimed at Justice Clarence Thomas, Winkler tried explaining it this way:

"I did not understand 'Uncle Tom' as a racist term, and there seems to be some debate about it. I do apologize for it, however," he said.

That's BS. Winkler graduated from Harvard with a degree in history. What are the odds that a history major at Harvard wouldn't understand that the term Uncle Thomas was a racial slur?

Outside agitators vs. local activists

It isn't that I think that Antifa didn't play a role in last week's riots in St. Paul. It's that I'm not sure they aren't homegrown Antifa terrorists. Apparently, the authorities aren't confident that their initial opinion is accurate. The notable exception to that list is Tim Walz, the DFL activist who plays the role of an incompetent governor for his day job. According to this article , "Gov. Tim Walz continued to suggest Sunday that 'it can't be Minnesotans' who would loot and burn homegrown businesses."

I'd argue that that's misguided thinking. Why wouldn't a gang from north Minneapolis burn down businesses in south Minneapolis? These gangs are often ideologues who want to destroy the existing system from the roots. They often see private property as inherently evil, capitalism as a rigged game against the people.

Why couldn't these terrorists be homegrown? Jeremiah Ellison, a member of the Minneapolis City Council and the son of Minnesota's Attorney General, recently published this tweet announcing his full support for Antifa:

Then there's this:

In St. Paul, police received numerous reports of suspicious vehicles without license plates parked and driving around the city, according to department spokesman Steve Linders. Officers also spotted some of those vehicles. They investigated an abandoned pickup truck loaded with construction equipment. Callers reported that people had gone to and from the truck, taking items from it.

Vehicles without license plates are often stolen vehicles. The plates are removed so they can be used during riots, when police use video cameras to identify criminals.

Ed Morrissey's post offers the proper insight into what's happening in the Twin Cities:

Not that Livingstone's dispensing with the meme, at least through his friends. A GoFundMe page for the trio claims that police arrested them "after peacefully protesting & being chased by the KKK." In a car with no plates? And peacefully protesting with two guns and a 'grinding tool'? The idea that three young men with sufficient self-defense tools could be "chased by the KKK" in Minnesota is outright laughable, especially young men who just spent several days at least in the midst of the rioting.

Being chased by the KKK in Minnesota is as plausible as Jussie Smollett being told that Chicago is "Trump country." Both statements are dishonest as hell. I wrote this post in July, 2016 to highlight the fact that Minnesota-grown 'activists' turning violent isn't a myth:

It's become clear that #BlackLivesMatter isn't interested in healing racial divides. They're proving that they're interested in injuring police officers. At least one officer is injured. Police are reporting that 'protesters started arming themselves with rebar from the construction site' and that police then used smoke and glass balls to clear the crowd. Protestors also threw glass bottles and liquids at the officers. One officer is injured from being hit with a glass bottle.'

The Star Tribune is reporting that as 'many as 200 protesters were blocking both the eastbound and westbound lanes of the major traffic artery connecting Minneapolis and St. Paul near the Lexington exits. Many sat on the freeway while others stood, the air filled with yelling and chanting. Some onlookers were climbing over the freeway fence to join the blockade, with the crowd swelling to an estimated 300 people filling the lanes in both directions.'

I remember that night. It was a Saturday night. There wasn't much happening until the local TV stations (KSTP, WCCO) jumped into programming to show these protesters throwing cement blocks at police officers from a bridge on I-94. I was able to 'cover' it via Twitter.

The Twin Cities media is acting like the Twin Cities' leftist activists are law-abiding, upstanding citizens, pillars of the community types. There's no doubt that there's a need for police reform. That's obvious. What's equally clear is that the DFL needs to clean out the festering pile of antagonizers and America-haters. Today's DFL turns a blind eye towards people like Keith Ellison, Ilhan Omar, Jeremiah Ellison and Ryan Winkler.

Simply put, it's time for DFL 'activist' reform, too. These aren't nice people. They're people without integrity.

You are saying White Power people stayed away.

Evidence?

Response 1.1 by Gary Gross at 04-Jun-20 06:56 AM
Where's the evidence that they showed up? Until I see evidence that they showed up, I'll keep thinking that they didn't.

Comment 2 by Gretchen L Leisen at 03-Jun-20 10:23 PM
He said that the idea that the activists were chased by 'KKK' people was ridiculous. There has never been a credible report of the KKK existing in Minnesota.

Comment 3 by eric z at 04-Jun-20 05:16 PM
Presuming ANTIFA, in denial of White Power. Love your consistency.

As Councilman Ellison said, and you say, where's proof? There were three arrests in Las Vegas, try a Google = vegas three-arrested floyd AP

Reporting is it was not ANTIFA.

Response 3.1 by Gary Gross at 05-Jun-20 07:30 AM
I'm not presuming anything about Antifa. It was confirmed by Bill Barr at yesterday's press conference. Also, there's this.
