Donald Trump's big shoes to fill

President Trump's Farewell Address to the Nation highlights why President Trump's accomplishments will be difficult to match. Economically, it's virtually impossible to imagine Joe Biden, or any other Democrat Socialist president, accumulating President Trump's accomplishments. The first accomplishments were the most important.

Using the Congressional Review Act , the GOP Congress and President Trump jump-started America's energy industry. As a result, the US is "the world's number-one producer of oil and natural gas by far." People are paying less for a gallon of gas. Their heating bills are less, too. That's about to change because a) Joe Biden wants electric cars, b) John Kerry wants us back in the Paris Climate Accord and Biden is cancelling the Keystone XL Pipeline in the name of climate change, not because it's good for the environment. The economy in Pennsylvania, Ohio and Michigan will needlessly crater.

The World Stage

  1. NATO nations are paying more for defending their nations, thanks to President Trump's negotiating.

  2. A new trade deal is in place with China. NAFTA was ripped up, then renegotiated. The USMCA was put into place in NAFTA's place.

  3. While he didn't finish it, President Trump started bringing US medical supply chains back to the US. When COVID hit, we learned that China produced most of our antibiotics and PPE. That won't happen because Joe Biden wants to raise these companies' taxes.

Abraham Accords

Normalizing relations between Israel and the UAE and Bahrain was the first step. The next step was normalizing relations between Israel and Sudan. Now Morocco is joining the Abraham Accords.

In addition to the Abraham Accords, President Trump moved the US Embassy to Jerusalem. That happened early in his administration. Later in his administration, he recognized Israel's sovereignty over the Golon Heights. Golon is key to Israel's defenses.

The Crown Jewel

The pre-COVID economy was the best economy in US history. Blue collar wages were rising twice as fast as white collar wages. Consumer confidence was sky high. Small business confidence was, too. Durable goods orders and shipments were growing after years of stagnation. Wages rose because President Trump shut the US-Mexico border, drying up the low-skill labor pool. The unemployment rates for African-Americans, Hispanics and Asian-Americans hit record lows. The unemployment rate for women was the lowest in three-fourths of a century.

The low minority unemployment rates are partially due to Sen. Tim Scott's Opportunity zones legislation. The other reason for those low unemployment rates is the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act.

COVID Vaccines

Operation Warp Speed was a sight to behold. People criticized President Trump when he said that they'd approve a COVID vaccine within a year. The 'experts' said it couldn't be done. Pfizer and Moderna got their vaccines approved in less than a year. That was miraculous. Now that we're reliant on politicians and bureaucrats, vaccinations have predictably slowed to sub-warp speed.
Joe Biden won't fill President Trump's shoes. In fact, it won't be close. Biden has already announced that he'll try killing the energy industry again :
The announcements will also include a sweeping order to review all of ex-President Donald Trump's actions weakening climate change protections, the revocation of a vital permit for the Keystone XL oil pipeline project from Canada, and a moratorium on oil and gas leasing activities in the Alaska National Wildlife Refuge that Trump's administration had recently opened to development, Biden aides said.

Expect gas prices to spike. Expect heating bills to rise within a year. It's apparent that Biden doesn't care about middle class families' budgets. While wages stagnate thanks to Biden's open border policies bringing in tons of cheap labor, expenses will rise thanks to higher gas prices and higher heating bills. Al Gore predicted what will happen to the Biden economy in this speech:
He said that "everything that's supposed to be up is down. Everything that's supposed to be down is up." Under Biden, wage growth will stagnate. Under Biden, families' expenses will go up.

It won't take long before billboards start popping up with Trump's face on them and the question 'Miss me yet?'

Grateful Dead had a song, "He's gone."

Beyond that, my guess is that anyone expecting much beyond mediocrity from Biden will be disappointed. He could end up being worse than mediocre.

Bernie would have won against Trump; 2016, 2020.

Opinions can differ.

Response 1.1 by Gary Gross at 20-Jan-21 01:52 PM
Biden will be worse. Bernie would've been terrible, too, because it's his agenda that'll likely get passed. Biden is just a weak trojan horse to sell to the public. Bernie, Pelosi & AOC are the engine behind this awaiting disaster.

Comment 2 by eric z at 21-Jan-21 12:15 PM
Pelosi, Clyburn have put Bernie and AOC on a sidetrack.

Harris might be the engine, but she's waffled to the point that her policy thinking seems day by day, like Trump's.

Biden will be Obama redux, if not worse.

Schumer is one to watch, what he says, what he does, actions speaking louder than words.

Any way, Trump is out, Biden is in, and we have two years until the midterm elections, four to reach 2024,

Besides age, I expect Biden to be a single term Pres.

Helping during the COVID crisis

The COVID crisis has gone on for a year+. In that time, President Trump pulled together private sector companies like CVS, Walgreens and Walmart to pop up testing for COVID. Next, he charged pharmaceutical companies like Pfizer, Moderna, Johnson & Johnson and AstraZeneca with creating a vaccine. Then he commissioned the military, UPS and FedEx to distribute the vaccine. In between those phases, President Trump's economic team, led by Larry Kudlow and Steve Mnuchin, pulled together multiple COVID relief packages to help families despite Nancy Pelosi's insistence to stop those packages unless they were larded up with money for items on the Democrats' wish lists.

The last time Pelosi dug her heels in, Barstool Sports' Dave Portnoy jumped in and raised almost $30,000,000 to support struggling small businesses. Last night on Fox News Primetime, Dave Rowe told Brian Kilmeade that we should stop thinking macro and start thinking micro. For instance, Rowe said that instead of parroting JFK's line about what can you do for your country, now's the time to ask "what you can do for your neighbor."

With their thoughts and actions, Rowe and Portnoy have pointed this hurting nation in the right direction. While Biden preaches unity , Portnoy and Rowe have saved people who've been pleading for help since mid-summer. Here's Portnoy with Stuart Varney:
Word's getting out. Elon Musk contributed to the Barstool Fund:
Let's learn a lesson from this. Nancy Pelosi is the DC bottleneck where important legislation goes to die. Dave Portnoy and Dave Rowe are the private sector who do what the politicians won't do. It's time to pressure DC Democrats to actually listen to the people. (That isn't likely to happen but it's important to put pressure on them nonetheless.) Patriots like Portnoy and Rowe care about their fellow citizens. That's why they're standing out. Politicians like Biden, Harris, Pelosi and Schumer aren't patriots. That's why they haven't gotten important things done that help their constituents.

Finally, it's time to throw Democrats out. They aren't patriots. They're parasites !

While it's no secret Democrats hate America, the RINO's are just as guilty of that. It's time to throw the RINO's like McTurtle, Graham, Rubio, Murkowski, etc out of office . The ultimate traitor of all against Trump: Mike Pence.

Comment 2 by eric z at 23-Jan-21 01:19 PM
Nick, I am with you 100% on getting rid of those you named, including even the Alaska Senator, who's a cut away from the others. They did lose the Senate organizing rights, except Manchin might at some point change party. If he does, then what? An immediate reorganization, or waiting for some trigger event?

Gary, you can cheapen a word like "Pariots" by overuse, or in circumstances where it is not merited. It is a word perhaps needing a higher level of respect. It means more than people I agree with in the moment.

Response 2.1 by Gary Gross at 23-Jan-21 05:05 PM
Eric, start using a dictionary more often. At the Save America Rally, Trump told his supporters to patriotically walk down Pennsylvania Ave. & to make their voices heard. That's being called insurrection by Pelosi. The real definition of insurrection is "an act or instance of rising in revolt, rebellion, or resistance against civil authority or an established government." That's cheapening the definition of that word. The definition of the word patriotism is "devoted love, support, and defense of one's country; national loyalty." Exercising a citizen's First Amendment rights to address their grievances about their government is a show of "devoted love, support, and defense of one's country."

At this point, Democrats haven't shown a love of anything except accumulating more power. That's the opposite of patriotism.

Joe Biden didn't waste time in destroying energy industry

When Joe Biden ran as a moderate, informed people knew that was a facade. One of Biden's first EOs was to shut down the Keystone XL Pipeline. Montana Sen. Steve Daines has put together other western senators in an effort to stop that executive order from killing jobs, increase reliance on Middle East oil and raising gas prices.

Biden's executive order reads, in part, "The Keystone XL pipeline disserves the U.S. national interest. The United States and the world face a climate crisis. That crisis must be met with action on a scale and at a speed commensurate with the need to avoid setting the world on a dangerous, potentially catastrophic, climate trajectory. Our domestic efforts must go hand in hand with U.S. diplomatic engagement... The United States must be in a position to exercise vigorous climate leadership in order to achieve a significant increase in global climate action and put the world on a sustainable climate pathway. Leaving the Keystone XL pipeline permit in place would not be consistent with my Administration's economic and climate imperatives."

Climate change isn't a crisis . It's a challenge at best. It's a crisis only to idiots like Joe Biden, Al Gore, John Kerry and Tom Steyer. Of course, it wasn't a crisis for Steyer when Steyer made his fortune as a hedge fund manager financing coal projects. John Kerry and Al Gore fly private jets to climate change events where they rant about the climate change crisis. Spare me !
Biden rejoined the Paris Climate Accord with another executive order. John Kerry negotiated that document, which explains why China is classified as a "developing nation" but the US is classified as an industrialized nation. Thanks to negotiations like that, China will have the biggest economy in the world within 4 years.

Climate change is just the Democrats' shiny object to distract from their socialist agenda and the Democrats' LGBTQ agenda. Democrats have created the achievement gap thanks to their social engineering activism over the years.

The United Association of Union Plumbers and Pipefitters condemned the move, saying "In revoking this permit, the Biden Administration has chosen to listen to the voices of fringe activists instead of union members and the American consumer on Day 1. Let me be very clear: When built with union labor by the men and women of the United Association, pipelines like Keystone XL remain the safest and most efficient modes of energy transportation in the world."

Democrats have decided that they're choosing environmental activists over private sector unions. That's why President Trump won in 2016. That's why the next GOP presidential nominee needs to be a Trump Republican. If traditional Republicans or country club Republicans ignore private sector unions, the GOP will wander in the political wilderness a long time .

So, King Biden will stop Climate Change with this single bold act? Even though the oil will continue to flow using diesel burning trucks and diesel burning trains? and if he outlaws the import of Canadian oil (based on what common sense or authority we cannot imagine), that oil will simply be shipped to Japan or China, burning MORE fossil fuels, and all that oil will simply be burned elsewhere. Net effect, fortunately negligible, is that Climate Change will INCREASE because of this stupid virtue-signaling action.

Comment 2 by eric z at 23-Jan-21 01:08 PM
I am surprised. Reimposing sensible auto emission limits too. He gets credit when due, and the Trump clean coal lie is scrapped along with other change. The Interior Dept appointee, excellent choice, with Stauber crying in his beer while going around behind MN tribal backs to gin up House opposition to the first Indigenous appointee to a Cabinet position, this one having jurisdiction over Bureau of Indian Affairs. In some areas I expected less and he's perhaps meeting the expectation, but so far on environment and clean air and water, he's done good damage repair. As to climate change doubters, what's Jungbauer up to these days? He seems to have lost traction and gone underground. At one point he was the most vocal skeptic, based on hoax "science" from that group, Homeland Institute or something like that.

Forgotten again

When Joe Biden signed the executive order ending construction of the Keystone XL Pipeline, Biden's message couldn't have been clearer. The Democrats' message to the construction unions was 'Drop dead.' This is a difficult decision for the Biden administration to defend. When Sen. Ted Cruz questioned Transportation Secretary nominee Pete Buttigieg about the pipeline decision, Buttigieg tried spinning the decision by saying "The answer is we are very eager to see those workers continue to be employed in good-paying union jobs, even if they might be different ones."

It's painfully obvious that construction unions have gotten hurt by the Biden Administration. Over 1,000 of the people building the Keystone XL Pipeline were laid off Friday, their jobs immediately vaporized by the Biden executive order. Nothing says forgotten like a pink slip with your paycheck on Friday. While Democrats said that they hope those workers find a job, it isn't likely that'll happen, at least at the same wage.

Biden campaigned as the union-loving everyman. It took less than a week in office to obliterate that image. Couple that with the outrage of National Guard troops getting exiled to sleeping in a DC parking garage:
Shame on the Biden administration for putting these patriots on a cold floor in a parking garage. Further, there were 25,000+ National Guard troops in DC. That's far more than were needed by Democrats.

When then-Candidate Trump delivered his acceptance speech at the RNC in 2016, he focused on the people that the Obama-Biden administration ignored:
Joe Biden is a phony. He didn't fight for Pennsylvania coal miners during the Obama administration. He isn't fighting for the unions building the Keystone XL Pipeline. It's pretty apparent that he's fighting for AOC's Green New Deal, meaning that he's forgetting, again, about the men who built this country. Biden often says that "the middle class built this nation" and that "the unions built the middle class."

That's a snappy-sounding soundbite. I just wish he meant it.

The imminent Biden/Pelosi recession

After Joe Biden signed the executive order stopping construction of the Keystone XL Pipeline, it didn't take long before he went to work on shutting down the energy industry . Pennsylvania Joe has had a bullseye on the Keystone State's blue collar economy since early in the Obama administration.

Now he's imposing stricter penalties against the energy industry:
Hours after taking office, President Joe Biden made good on a campaign promise to cancel the Keystone XL oil pipeline. Later that day his Interior Department mandated that only top agency leaders could approve new drilling permits over the next two months. Next week, according to people familiar with the plans, Biden will go even further: suspending the sale of oil and gas leases on federal land, where the U.S. gets 10% of its supplies.

The actions sent oil producers' stocks tumbling and raised blood pressure across the industry. "In the first couple of days of the new administration, they are taking actions that will harm the economy and cost Americans their jobs," said Frank Macchiarola, a senior vice president of policy for the American Petroleum Institute. "We're concerned, and everyone in the country should be concerned."

This won't help the US economy:
Let's stipulate that we'd be all but officially out of the COVID recession if Nancy Pelosi hadn't a) sabotaged the latest COVID relief package and b)negotiated in bad faith on that COVID relief package. Let's not forget that GDP grew at 33.1% in Q3/2020. We were positioned to follow that up with double-digit growth in Q4 and 4%-6% growth in 2021. Those projections have disappeared thanks to Joe Biden's payoffs to Democrats' special interest allies, especially the environmental activists that rule the DNC.

Going from energy independence to reliant on Middle Eastern oil and Chinese solar panels isn't just stupid. It's dangerous in the longterm and hurtful in the short-term. When gas prices and heating bills spike, I'll point back to 1//20/21 as the day that Joe Biden set this disaster in motion.

President Trump's America First policies cared about middle class families. Joe Biden's and Nancy Pelosi's policies and tactics put the Democrats' machine politics agenda first. Remember that the next time you vote.

The Democrats' poison runs deep

The Democrats' hatred of former President Trump is so deep that they're willing to ignore Article II, Section 4 of the Constitution , the part of the Constitution that dictates how impeachment trials are supposed to be held. According to this article , "Senate sources confirmed Monday" that "Chief Justice John Roberts won't preside over former President Donald Trump's Senate trial."

Unless Democrats intend on impeaching Joe Biden, the Democrats' faux trial is a joke. The text of Article II, Section IV states " The President , Vice President and all civil Officers of the United States, shall be removed from Office on Impeachment for, and Conviction of, Treason, Bribery, or other high Crimes and Misdemeanors." Donald John Trump isn't the president. Joe Biden took that oath last Wednesday.

Why waste time removing a president that's already left office? It isn't like the Senate doesn't have a cabinet to weigh in on.
The Constitution calls on the high court's chief justice to preside over a Senate impeachment trial of the president. Roberts presided over Trump's 2020 impeachment trial, which lasted nearly three weeks and resulted in his acquittal. But Roberts is not coming this time around.

The Constitution does not outline how to impeach an ex-president. The missing instructions have left Senate leaders in both parties to devise their own rules, including who will preside over the trial.

The instructions aren't missing. The men that wrote the Constitution thought this contingency through before writing the Constitution. The men that wrote the Constitution intended to not try former presidents. Remember how many Democrat pundits talked about how then-President Trump might face criminal prosecution if convicted and removed via the impeachment process? I do. Each day, a different Democrat pundit talked about whether then-President Trump would wind up in jail.

Here's a question Democrats won't attempt answering. Why would a person convicted of high crimes of impeachment be subjected to criminal conviction in a civilian court, too? A person willing to subject a person to 2 convictions of the same crime would have to be an exceptionally vindictive individual. What a waste of time:
Since Inauguration Day, Democrats:

  1. have killed high-paying union jobs,

  2. have done nothing to speed up COVID vaccinations,

  3. haven't done anything to pass a COVID relief bill,

  4. haven't re-opened schools,

  5. haven't killed female sports

  6. and made National Guard troops protecting politicians attending the Inaugartion sleep on concrete floors.

What a bunch of losers.

Article I, § 3, cl. 7, limits the judgment after impeachment to removal from office and disqualification from future federal office holding, but it allows criminal trial following conviction on impeachment.

And they should pull his pension too. If convicted by the Senate.

It is the future reach of the remedy that makes the question real, not moot.

Response 2.1 by Gary Gross at 28-Jan-21 02:58 AM
Eric, Trump didn't take a salary as POTUS. Neither did Commerce Sec'y Wilbur Ross, Education Sec'y Betsy DeVos or Treasury Sec'y Steve Mnuchin. Why would they take their pension?

The men that wrote the Constitution anticipated criminal trial as the remedy if a president is impeached & convicted.

The nose-counters' guide on nuking the legislative filibuster

When it comes to Capitol Hill correspondents I trust for information, none ranks as trusted as Chad Pergram. In this article , Pergram reports that "We knew last week it was unlikely that there were ever the votes to get rid of the filibuster. But failing to eliminate the filibuster simply presents Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-NY) with a problem. The left-wing of the Democrat Party will come for Schumer when the Senate fails to pass big-ticket items important to progressives, ranging from climate change to DC statehood. Schumer could only do that by extinguishing the filibuster. But he lacks the votes to do so . "

Pergram's reporting continues, saying "In other words, Schumer has the responsibility, but none of the power. The converse is true for McConnell: he has the power in a 50-50 Senate, but none of the responsibility. Without question, McConnell may emerge as the most powerful Minority Leader in Senate history."

This puts Sen. Schumer in a difficult, virtually impossible, position. Justice Democrats and other radical activist Democrats expect him to end the filibuster so they can expand the Supreme Court, approve DC statehood and gut the Electoral College. Sen. Schumer should expect a uphill primary fight from Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, (D-NY).

In an interview with MSDNC's Rachel Maddow, Sen. Schumer hinted that Sen. McConnell caved:
The first sentence of this statement says everything:
"Today two Democratic Senators publicly confirmed they will not vote to end the legislative filibuster. They agree with President Biden's and my view that no Senate majority should destroy the right of future minorities of both parties to help shape legislation. The legislative filibuster was a key part of the foundation beneath the Senate's last 50-50 power-sharing agreement in 2001. With these assurances, I look forward to moving ahead with a power-sharing agreement modeled on that precedent."

First, Maddow isn't that bright. If she thinks that Sen. Schumer pulled a fast one on Sen. McConnell, then she isn't well-schooled in Capitol Hill nuance.
Now, I'm going to give you a vocabulary term: "Budget Reconciliation." You're going to hear a lot about that over the next couple of weeks. Schumer and liberals may not be able to advance much of their legislative agenda due to filibusters. But, they still have one annual option to advance certain legislation with fiscal impacts: It's called "Budget Reconciliation." This is the same gambit Democrats used in 2010 to pass the final version of Obamacare when they lacked the votes to overcome a filibuster. Republicans also used the same tactic to repeal and replace Obamacare - but could never come up with enough votes.

Here's the Democrats' biggest problem with reconcilliation -- it can only be used once a budget is passed. There's another problem that's virtually insurmountable:
There is an inherent landmine which comes with reconciliation. It's called the "Byrd Rule," the namesake of the legendary, late Senate Majority Leader Robert Byrd (D-WV). The practical impact of the Byrd rule is that "extraneous" legislative priorities can't fall under reconciliation. Some examples include whether a provision cuts or raises taxes or revenues, adds to the deficit or isn't related to budgetary matters. Senators may make a point of order to flag a non-compliant provision. As mentioned earlier, it takes 60 votes to waive the Budget Act and to overcome the Byrd Rule.

In other words, it can't be used to pack the courts or DC statehood.

UPDATE: The Democrats that won't get rid of the legislative filibuster are Kyrsten Sinema and Joe Manchin.

Let's cancel cancel culture

Cancel cancel culture
By Ramblin' Rose

"Keep your mouth shut. You have your Freedom of Speech, as long as you say what I want to hear.'

America is on 'the slippery slope.' Sadly, that is true.

People are not speaking up. They are scared that they will lose their job. They are scared that they will alienate family and friends. They are afraid of the public shaming and bullying, even physical harm and death to self or family members. Their fear is real.

For decades, students have learned to regurgitate the ideology espoused by the teachers, especially in high school and university. Now it is at all grade levels as leftists rewrite our history, interject critical race theory in the curriculum, and indoctrinate our youth to hate our country. The consequences for exercising our inalienable First Amendment rights are even more frightening -- it is 'cancel culture' and reprehensible threats from the Leftists. They are calling for deprogramming programs, reprogramming camps for our children and civilian spies to report on family and neighbors.

On July 4th, when the country celebrates its history and values, its freedoms and dreams, President Trump spoke under symbols of leaders who have championed America's greatness - Washington, Lincoln, Jefferson and Teddy Roosevelt. He addressed that issue as he said: 'One of (the left's) political weapons is 'cancel culture' - driving people from their jobs, shaming dissenters and demanding total submission from anyone who disagrees. This is the definition of totalitarianism. It is completely alien to our culture and values. It has absolutely no place in the United States of America."

The attacks on President Trump started five years ago and continue even after his term as US President ended. Leftists continue the attacks on him and any and all who treasure the same American values.

Tucker Carlson interviewed Professor David Clements from New Mexico State University on January 19, 2021. He explained that he understood the potential ramifications for his response to a letter from the administration at this university.

But before continuing with the content of that interview, please let me share my own journey to access his words. Gary Gross, author and owner of LetFreedomRingblog , told me about the interview that he had watched. He shared the URL with me so that I could view the same discussion. However, when I clicked the link two days later, the screen revealed this message: "This video is no longer available because the uploader has closed their YouTube account." Wrong! Tucker Carlson's videos are still on YouTube. I then tried a Google search for the segment and searched for a link with the information from the aforementioned URL. I found it. However, this time the screen was filled with cartoon characters, and I believe the language was Eastern European or Russian. Were these 'computer glitches' or part of the 'cancel culture' censorship? I later found the segment and summarize Professor Clement's comments and add my reactions.

Like many in today's 'woke' world, Professor Clements received a letter from the president of his university - the type of letter that the majority of people ignore and keep silent in order to maintain their job. For many, silence is not only expedient, it is vital for survival. Fear rules and grows each day as the Leftists promise greater and stronger retaliation against any who defy their mandates. They are the demagogues.

Professor Clements responded to the claim from his administrator that Antifa and BLM riots that destroyed significant parts of many cities in 2020 were "not a big deal." By contrast, the MAGA "insurrection" (the word used by the university president) in Washington, D.C. on January 6, 2021, was "a crisis."

In October, candidate Biden declared that Antifa is only an idea, not an organization. Therefore, that group is non-violent. He called the protestors at the Capitol "domestic terrorists." He now occupies the Oval Office. Jen Psaki, his press secretary, refused to condemn the looting and burning that occurred in Seattle and Portland the night of January 20 - his inauguration. Kamala Harris has stated repeatedly that it is a movement that "should never stop."

Tucker Carlson asked the professor to explain why he took such a risk. Professor Clements responded that the fears for his university where 20% of the faculty proudly acclaim their allegiance and devotion to the tenets of marxism. His request is for parity in denouncing violence always and not just when it is politically convenient. Additionally, his students have expressed their fears about not being able to share their opinions and/or concerns. Faculty from across the nation have shared similar trepidations with him personally. He lamented the fascination of his students with critical race theory and other communist doctrines that instill hatred of the USA in them.

He took a stand and responded at great professional risk; he does not yet have tenure at his institution. (Tenure may or may not guarantee a job. Others who have spoken out about freedom and liberty and against the left-wing propaganda have lost honorary degrees and emeritus status from prestigious Ivy League schools.)

Before this law professor entered Academia, he was a prosecutor who examined the evidence in order to defend justice. Now he attempts to defend his students who are despondent, depressed and afraid while embracing the marxist ideologies. His goal is to teach students to think critically and make their own decisions, in contrast with the indoctrination and regurgitation that is obligatory in some many other classrooms. He admits that if he does not speak out, he is complicit.

Tucker Carlson predicted that Professor Clements will face retaliation for this action. He described the professor as "brave, calm, reasonable and articulate." These are qualities that the leftists will not tolerate.

Professor Clements is not an appeaser. In the words of Winston Churchill, "an appeaser is someone who feeds the alligator with the hope that the alligator will eat him last."

Our Founding Fathers stated it this way: "When the people fear their government, there is tyranny; when the government fears the people, there is liberty."

I fear that our Founding Fathers are also being cancelled. That's why it's time to cancel cancel culture.

The Democrats' waste of time

During a Monday interview with CNN, Joe Biden admitted what we already knew : that the Democrats' impeachment is a waste of time. According to the article, "Biden told CNN he believed the outcome would be different if Trump had six months left in his term, but said he doesn't think 17 Republican senators will vote to convict Trump. 'The Senate has changed since I was there, but it hasn't changed that much,' Biden said."

In other words, the Democrats are wasting the nation's time. At least this time, they didn't waste $40,000,000 and 2 and a half years before impeaching President Trump.
But as more alarming details came into focus about the Capitol attack, early discussions among Biden advisers of taking an active role in slowing or trying to somehow manage impeachment were abandoned, aides said, as they've become well aware that trying to do so could divide Democrats.

This won't help Democrats politically. That's because it's well-known that the attack was pre-planned. That doesn't change because Democrats keep pretending that President Trump's speech incited the riot. The Democrats are well-practiced at pretending that the lie is the truth. Nancy Pelosi is especially well-practiced in that tactic. Ditto with Adam Schiff, Eric Swalwell, Kamala Harris and Joe Biden. Rand Paul, who's been ripping partisan Democrats to shreds lately over impeachment, took to the Senate floor this afternoon to excoriate Democrats over impeaching former President Trump:
Joe Biden hates President Trump. Even he knows that this faux trial is a sham, though he isn't willing to state that to the people in his party. He's a spineless wimp, whereas other Democrats are just hate-filled idiots who couldn't think their way out of the proverbial wet paper bag. Businesses are hurting from Democrat governors. Why aren't these Democrats working on getting the economy open? Why aren't they trying to fix the problems that Democrats caused through their shutdown orders?

Instead, they're insistent on this faux impeachment trial. This isn't a legitimate impeachment process. The chief justice of the Supreme Court is nowhere to be found. The House never called a single witness or investigated the incident of Jan. 6, 2021. What part of those facts sound legitimate? Instead, the officer presiding over this travesty is a bitter partisan Democrat.

Tuesday evening, Rand Paul called for a vote on whether this impeachment is constitutional. The vote was 55 saying it was constitutional, 45 saying it isn't constitutional. That vote all but officially finishes this impeachment trial. If 45 senators say that the trial is unconstitutional, none of those senators will vote to convict. Since conviction requires 67 votes in the Senate, this trial is over before it starts.

Are you saying "pre-planned" with Trump and his people not knowing nor wanting to take advantage; or "pre-planned" with Trump seizing an opportunity to inflame a crowd already half-afire? How about we ask Mike Pence?

Gutless Senators playing politics now does not lift the yolk of shame from Trump shoulders. It merely as a political thing indicates careerist Republicans still FEAR Trump. Look at how Lindsey Graham wets a finger to the wind, and goes the direction it blows. Is there anybody more gutless than Graham?

There are ambitious Republicans wanting Trump out of their way, 2024. Or Gary, do you disagree? Nikki Haley comes to mind.

And for the question, in 2024 should Trump again be the Republican presidential nominee, that's another thing to ask Mike Pence.

Pre-planned as in people not remotely related with Trump planting the pipe bombs.

At this point, Trump owns the GOP. Whether he runs again is his decision.
