Buzzfeed's humiliating day
Thursday night, Buzzfeed published this article insisting that they had sources who'd verified as fact that President Trump had ordered Michael Cohen to lie to Congressional investigators. Friday night, the Special Counsel's office issued a statement, saying "BuzzFeed's description of specific statements to the Special Counsel's Office, and characterization of documents and testimony obtained by this office, regarding Michael Cohen's Congressional testimony are not accurate . "
Let's first highlight what Buzzfeed 'reported' about President Trump. They reported "President Donald Trump directed his longtime attorney Michael Cohen to lie to Congress about negotiations to build a Trump Tower in Moscow, according to two federal law enforcement officials involved in an investigation of the matter. Trump also supported a plan, set up by Cohen, to visit Russia during the presidential campaign, in order to personally meet President Vladimir Putin and jump-start the tower negotiations. 'Make it happen,' the sources said Trump told Cohen."
What started as another 'the walls are closing in on Trump' turned into another dismal failure for the left. The Special Counsel's statement doesn't exonerate President Trump but it certainly cripples Buzzfeed. Again. Here's how CNN covered the special counsel story:

Here's how FNC covered the same story:

Like I said earlier, this doesn't exonerate President Trump but it certainly hurts Buzzfeed.

Get Trump media exposed again
Saying that the Get Trump media has been exposed -- again -- is understatement. Thursday night, Buzzfeed announced that it had proof that President Trump had told Michael Cohen to lie to Congress. Immediately, legions of 'journalists' started dancing on President Trump's grave . Shortly thereafter, Democrat politicians "speculated about impeaching President Trump or calling for his resignation."
Unfortunately for them, the 'reporting' was from Buzzfeed. Rather than react with caution, Democrat politicians and the media wing of the Democratic Party started dancing on President Trump's grave. 'The MSM' is already trying to distance itself from the crap it touts each day:
The MSM's hatred of President Trump is palpable. If I got $100 for each 'journalist' that's said that "the walls are closing in on Trump" or that they've got him now or that Mueller is close to getting President Trump or other such statement, I'd be wildly wealthy. If I received another $100 for each time a 'journalist' started a sentence with "If this is true" about this case, I'd be as wealthy as Trump.
I'm with Alan Dershowitz when he said "The anti-Trump pundits have been wrong so often that the only people who persist in believing them are Trump opponents who dream of seeing him forced out of office and maybe even winding up in prison. By any objective standard, these self-appointed media 'experts' have lost all credibility." CNN's Brian Stelter bemoans the loss of credibility of 'the MSM', saying that the whole industry shouldn't be judged based on the actions of a few bad actors.
That's fair enough if there were only a few bad actors. There aren't. It'd take me virtually the rest of this weekend to list the anti-Trump spinmeisters that appear on CNN panels alone. Remember, too, that this is a long weekend. That's before talking about the anti-Trump haters on MSNBC. Later, Dershowitz wrote this:
I wish the media would go back and show the categorical statements and confident predictions of their paid commentators who have been proven wrong so many times. Their record of accurate predictions is nothing to brag about.
That's being generous. At the end of the video earlier in the post, Stelter said "We have to keep our standards high." Huh? You're kidding, right? CNN doesn't have standards. They're as untrustworthy as Buzzfeed.

Proof that Democrats hate Trump
If we needed additional proof that Democrats hate President Trump, Democrats supplied that proof today . Trump said "I am here today to break the logjam and provide congress with a pathway forward to end the government shutdown." It didn't take long for Democrats to reject President Trump's plan:
But the approach had already been rejected by Speaker Nancy Pelosi and other Democrats who said it largely repackaged a proposal that had failed earlier. Pelosi called the idea a "non-starter," and Senate Minority Whip Dick Durbin (D-Ill.) also panned the proposal as a way to reopen the government, even though Trump's plan cribbed from Durbin's own legislation.
Simply put, Democrats hate President Trump more than they like this country. Democrats don't care if our nation is overrun with illegal aliens. Democrats don't care if our border is secure. What Democrats want most of all is to politically demolish President Trump.
Obviously, the plan is to make Nancy Pelosi, Chuck Schumer and freshman House Democrats look unreasonable. That isn't difficult since Democrats are totally unreasonable. Say goodbye to that Speaker's gavel, Nancy. Many of those freshmen that were elected in 2018 won't be returning thanks to your intransigence. Now that we know that Ms. Pelosi isn't returning to the negotiating table, it's time to go nuclear. The thing Republicans need to understand is that Democrats aren't interested in bipartisanship. They're interested in demolishing President Trump's presidency. Period.
The Agenda Media won't report on this fairly either. They're part of the open borders crowd. They don't care about protecting Americans. That's why it's impossible to pressure Democrats. It'd be different if we had an honest press. We don't. (Think Buzzfeed.) President Trump should drop the hammer the minute that Senate Democrats filibuster President Trump's offer:
Here's what I'd write if I was President Trump's chief speechwriter:
Democrats in the House and Senate have left me no alternatives. While more caravans head toward the border, Democrats and their allies in the Agenda Media insist that this is a "manufactured crisis." How dare they say that. I dare them to tell that to the Angel families that I've met, the Angel families that tried meeting with Speaker Pelosi but were told she wasn't there.
Democrats insist that they're for border security. That's a lie. If they're for true border security, they wouldn't have voted to filibuster the bill just presented for Senate consideration. They wouldn't have issued a letter saying that it was dead on arrival in the House.
In both instances, Democrats said that they'd only allow a vote if the government opened first. When I asked Speaker Pelosi if she'd fund the wall if I re-opened the government, she said "No." I've been willing to negotiate throughout. Unfortunately, Democrats have rejected my offers to even meet. I can't negotiate with myself.
Therefore, I'm left with just one option. Today, I'm invoking the Emergencies Act to protect the United States from mass illegal immigration, drug trafficking and human trafficking. While Democrats insist that I'm manufacturing this crisis, people from California to Texas to Staten Island have felt the pain of these criminals. If that doesn't constitute a national emergency, nothing does.
My highest priority as president is to protect human lives. Because Democrats won't join with me in protecting American lives, I'm taking action to protect those lives.

Democrat shutdown 'efficiency'
This Saturday, I wrote this post highlighting President Trump's offer intended to bring both sides to the negotiating table. It failed. In fact, it failed before President Trump offered it . According to Bloomberg's article, "Democratic House Speaker Nancy Pelosi rejected the proposal on Saturday, hours before Trump outlined it in a White House speech to the nation."
What's interesting is that this isn't the only 'efficiency' that Democrats display. Notice how Democrats vote in lock-step with leadership. Notice how Democrat members of the Problem Solvers Caucus issued a statement exactly reflecting Ms. Pelosi's views that they wouldn't negotiate until the government was re-opened? Translation: We won't negotiate until Republicans forfeit their leverage. Right.
Mitch McConnell weighed in on the situation :
This bill takes a bipartisan approach to re-opening the closed portions of the federal government. It pairs the border security investment that our nation needs with additional immigration measures that both Democrat and Republican members of Congress believe are necessary. Unlike the bills that have come from the House over the past few weeks, this proposal could actually resolve this impasse. It has the full support of the President and could be signed into law to quickly reopen the government.
Everyone has made their point - now it's time to make a law. I intend to move to this legislation this week. With bipartisan cooperation, the Senate can send a bill to the House quickly so that they can take action as well. The situation for furloughed employees isn't getting any brighter and the crisis at the border isn't improved by show votes.
Let's get this impasse resolved. That means my-way-or-the-highway proposals don't fly.

Democrats' Liar of the day
This morning, Chris Wallace interviewed Vice President Pence, then House Majority Whip James Clyburn. Wallace noted, as I did in this post , that Democrats rejected President Trump's offer literally before he officially made it. This morning, Wallace asked Clyburn why they rejected it instead of sitting down at a negotiating table.
Clyburn replied "What we're trying to do here is get the government open. What we've said to the President is 'let's open the government. We could do that, as you said, tomorrow morning. He has bills that he could sign and open up the government right away."
First, that isn't the truth. None of the bills that Pelosi passed have been even been debated by the Senate. There aren't any bills for President Trump to sign. Next, the Democrats aren't dealing with a rookie negotiator. They're dealing with Donald Trump. He knows that the minute he signs those bills is the minute Democrats insist on a take-it-or-leave-it deal on the wall. They will have gotten everything they wanted.
Democrats are experts at making promises, then virtually reneging on those promises. There's nothing honorable about Democrats at the negotiating table.
There's no reason to trust Democrats. Their record of reneging is lengthy. If Democrats filibuster President Trump's bill this week, as I'm certain they will, President Trump should immediately announce he's invoking the National Emergencies Act and that he's intending to use his authorities to deal with the national emergency crisis hitting our southern border.
Democrats will file a lawsuit in the 9th Circuit, which they'll win. President Trump should immediately ask the Supreme Court to hear the lawsuit. The sooner the lawsuit reaches the Supreme Court, the sooner Democrats will lose.

Trump is right to force the border wall issue before opening the government because the weasel progressives won't negotiate once the government is back open and we'll be in the same place we are right now with border security and the progressives laughing at us.

SC Times = Reliable Sources?
This SCTimes Our View editorial would be right at home on CNN's Reliable Sources.
A couple paragraphs in, the editorial states "America's voters have a couple of options. They certainly can directly engage their members of Congress. Demand to know their positions not about the border wall, but about what it would take to reach a deal that reopens government and crafts a more effective border-security solution than a wall many security experts say would be ineffective ."
I've read dozens of articles about border security. I've heard tons of quotes saying that 'security experts say the wall would be ineffective.' None of those articles name the security experts. Here's my question to the SC Times: do these security experts exist? Here's another question I might ask: are they real or are they as fictional as the 'sources' in Buzzfeed's article claiming that President Trump told Cohen to lie to Congress?
If the Times' editorial was sold in a bookstore, it'd be best placed with fantasies. Here's why:
President Trump and the White House are best positioned to end the impasse quickly. Of course, that would mean the president would have to compromise - something he's seldom done since being elected, especially with Democrats.
Democrats in Congress need to keep pushing proposals that end the shutdown and seek to bolster border security.
What planet are these idiots living on? What proposals have Democrats proposed that contained anything faintly resembling a compromise? To the best of my knowledge, the Democrats' next proposal that includes a compromise will be their first compromise.
Further, President Trump has offered 2 compromise proposals, including this one yesterday:
Then there's this:
Common-sense congressional Republicans can publicly embrace them, which just might be enough of an opening to allow this president to claim a symbolic victory - one not worth even close to $5.7 billion but certainly money well spent to reopen the government.
How about the Times actually doing its research? Better yet, how about the Democrats doing the right thing for once? Who am I kidding? That's as likely to happen as Cormier's and Leopold's anonymous sources coming forward.

Are Democrats this hateful?
According to this article , Jerry Nadler, the Democrat chairing the House Judiciary Committee, "said his panel would 'get to the bottom' of the allegations in a Thursday night report from BuzzFeed News that have caused an uproar among congressional Democrats."
Later, Nadler said "We know that the President has engaged in a long pattern of obstruction. Directing a subordinate to lie to Congress is a federal crime. The @HouseJudiciary Committee's job is to get to the bottom of it, and we will do that work." Nadler isn't the only idiot Democrat jumping in:
Rep. Adam Schiff, D-Calif., chairman of the House Intelligence Committee, also said that his panel would do "what's necessary to find out if it's true" that Trump had directed Cohen, a longtime loyalist and fixer, to lie to Congress about plans for a massive Trump Tower in Moscow.
"The allegation that the President of the United States may have suborned perjury before our committee in an effort to curtail the investigation and cover up his business dealings with Russia is among the most serious to date," Schiff said in a late-night tweet Thursday shortly after the BuzzFeed story posted.
House Democrats and the media wing of the Democratic Party, aka the Agenda Media, aka CNN and MSNBC, hate President Trump so much that they didn't bother to check whether Buzzfeed's sources were true. That should've been their first step, especially considering the fact that Buzzfeed has a lengthy and far-from-distinguished history of running without getting its facts straight. Later, this was written:
The Washington Post has not independently verified the report, on which congressional Republicans have largely remained silent.
There's only one reason why the Washington Post and other media outlets didn't verify the story. They wanted it to be true so bad that they just abandoned journalistic standards. What's most disgusting is that Democrats care more about impeaching President Trump than they care about protecting 15-year-olds like this little girl:
While Democrats gear up for fake investigations into imaginary crimes, little girls like this one get brutalized. Prior to them getting their majority back, Marie Harf repeatedly told us that "Democrats could walk and chew gum at the same time", meaning they could investigate and legislate at the same time. Thus far, they've failed at both. It's time to restore Republicans to the majority in the House so we can return to getting important things done. Important things like getting the economy straightened out, reducing regulations so small businesses have a chance at succeeding and building the wall so MS-13 can't terrorize little girls like the one they killed in the above picture.
We can't afford to have a political party in charge that's this hateful and nonproductive. The Democrats' highest priority is tormenting President Trump. Thus far, they haven't done a thing to make life better for Americans. What a shame.

John Kerry Democrats
In 2004, President Bush pressed Democratic presidential candidate John Kerry, who served in Vietnam (LOL), on voting for Iraq War funding, which produced this timeless quote:
Needless to say, another bunch of Democrats are following that pattern :
Democrats once said the so-called BRIDGE Act was urgently needed to protect young immigrants brought to the country illegally as children. But now that President Trump has offered to essentially include it as part of a compromise to re-open shuttered government agencies, those same Democrats are rejecting it, unwilling to trade border wall funding for the immigrant protections they have long sought.
It's becoming clear that the Democrats' highest governing principle is saying no to everything President Trump proposes. It's impossible to say that they're negotiating in good faith when a) Nancy Pelosi tries leaving the country for a week on an unneeded trip, b) they declare President Trump's proposal dead on arrival before he makes the proposal and c) Pelosi refuses to meet with Angel families even though she was in the office waiting to meet with pro-Democrat activists.
This is what a person with no character does. Shame on Mrs. Pelosi for putting partisan politics ahead of the nation. Here's hoping that Mrs. Pelosi's legacy will be that of an untrustworthy dealmaker, which she certainly is.
