The Ceasefire Collapses

There were lots of skeptics of UNSCR 1701. According to this AFP article, those skeptics have been proven justified in their skepticism.
A critical Lebanese Cabinet meeting set to discuss implementation of the ceasefire between Israel and Hezbollah was postponed, a move that was likely to delay the dispatch of the Lebanese army to the south and an end to the fighting.

A top aide to Prime Minister Fuad Saniora said the meeting had been indefinitely postponed but would give no reason. Published reports said the Cabinet, which approved the ceasefire unanimously last night, had been sharply divided over demands in the ceasefire agreement that Hezbollah surrender its weapons in south Lebanon. That disagreement was believed to have caused the postponement of the meeting today that was to have taken up the dispatch of some 15,000 troops to the south.
Why shouldn't this have been considered the most likely outcome? Were foreign policy experts surprised that Hezbollah doesn't want to be disarmed? Don't kid yourself into thinking that Hezbollah didn't orchestrate this. Don't be fooled by Nasrallah's 'signing off' on the ceasefire either. I never considered that a sincere jesture on his part.

What this proves is that Hezbollah plans on using its presence on the Lebanese cabinet to thwart anything that doesn't move it towards their goal of destroying Israel. Politics is simply a means to an end.

An end to Israel.
