Duncely Duo Strike Again
Harry Reid and
Nancy Pelosi have released separate statements criticizing the President's handling of the economy. It'd be charitable to call their statements clueless. Here's Reid's statement of ignorance:
Thanks to the President's tax cuts, Americans are keeping more of their earnings and more people are employed than when he took office. Thanks to the President's using the Treasury department, we're no longer letting charities funnel money to terrorist, which only makes us more secure.
Furthermore, had Reid voted to open ANWR to drilling, we wouldn't have the crude oil and natural gas situation that we currently have. Instead of paying serious attention to our energy needs, Reid and the rest of the liberal imbeciles worshiped at the altar of "The Environment." Now we're playing catch up and they're complaining about how Republicans haven't done enough. Riiiight.
Here's Pelosi's diatribe:
Here's their New Direction on better wages:
One thing that's apparent from a political standpoint: Democrats haven't figured out that you can't persuade people to change their votes with whining. That's why I've ignored what the polls have said. That's why I'm sticking to my guns that the GOP will do better than the national echo chamber pundits are saying.

"The president doesn't need to meet his economic advisors in order to learn one simple truth: for millions of hardworking middle class families, life under Republican rule has grown less affordable and less secure. Our economy badly needs a new direction, one that puts the interests of all Americans above the interests of a privileged few."Allow me to utterly dismantle Reid's misstatements:
Thanks to the President's tax cuts, Americans are keeping more of their earnings and more people are employed than when he took office. Thanks to the President's using the Treasury department, we're no longer letting charities funnel money to terrorist, which only makes us more secure.

Here's Pelosi's diatribe:
"President Bush may think the economy is moving forward, but many hard working Americans are stuck living paycheck to paycheck. Under President Bush and the Republican Congress the economic situation for too many Americans is going in the wrong direction, gas prices are skyrocketing, and since the President took office, real median family income has dropped by $1,700 while families are paying $3,200 more in household costs. Here's Pelosi's New Direction for America on energy prices:
"Democrats have a New Direction for America, one that brings economic opportunity and security to all Americans and pay as you go spending and fiscal discipline to Congress."
ENERGY INDEPENDENCE - LOWER GAS PRICESIn other words, let's work towards things that will drive down energy costs 3-5 years from now, if then. Pelosi doesn't want anyone to know that there isn't a quick fix to this situation. Pelosi just hopes nobody notices that her plan won't come to fruition any sooner than drilling in ANWR.
Free America from dependence on foreign oil and create a cleaner environment with initiatives for energy-efficient technologies and domestic alternatives such as biofuels. End tax giveaways to Big Oil companies and enact tough laws to stop price gouging.
Here's their New Direction on better wages:
BETTER AMERICAN JOBS - BETTER PAYI'll bet that King Banaian at SCSUScholars or other astute economics professors will be impressed with that the instant they read that. NOT. The truth is that this is a gimmicky focus-grouped type of paragraph that means nothing. If you take the whininess out of that paragraph, it disappears.
Prohibit the Congressional pay raise until the nation's minimum wage is raised. End tax giveaways that reward companies for moving American jobs overseas.
