Democratic Corruption, Part III

The AP is reporting that the FBI searched the offices of Louisiana Representative William Jefferson. Here's their account:
FBI agents searched the congressional office of Rep. William Jefferson of Louisiana Saturday evening in connection with a public corruption investigation that has already netted two guilty pleas by two associates, authorities said. The search began at 7:15 p.m. EDT in the Rayburn House Office Building, where Jefferson's office is located, said Debra Weierman, an FBI spokeswoman. It was not clear what agents were looking for and Weierman said she could provide no additional details because the affidavit supporting the search warrant was sealed. But she indicated the search could take several hours.
I thought that Jefferson's actions would mean that Democrats would drop the "culture of corruption" talk but it hasn't. They've changed it a little now. Instead of just yapping about a "culture of corruption", Nancy Pelosi has tried tying the high gas prices and high medical insurance to the Republicans' "culture of corruption." Right Nancy. We'll take your word on that. Of course, she didn't offer proof that her accusations were substantive. Even Mara Liasson, appearing on Special Report's Roundtable, said that she'd have a tough time proving any part of her accusations.

What I don't understand is why she's repeating that line so often. Based on their hate-filled rants on the Murtha fiasco, it's obvious that the Democrats' base doesn't need more charging. The only other explanation that's plausible is that she actually believes it.

Then again, it might not mean that because assuming that a Democrat's beliefs are logical isn't wise.
