The Voter Fraud Party

The DNC and state Democratic Party officials plan on challenging a ruling on Indiana's new law requiring a photo ID to vote.
National and state Democrats are planning to appeal a federal court ruling upholding Indiana's new law requiring a photo ID to vote. Democratic National Committee Chairman Howard Dean told The Associated Press that the law will keep some people from voting. But supporters of the new law, including Indiana Republican Party Chairman Murray Clark, say the state's voter identification law will help secure elections in Indiana.

Indiana Democratic Party executive director Mike Edmonson says it's important to appeal the ruling to make sure every voter gets a chance to cast a ballot. A federal judge ruled last week that the state's law should stand. The appeal hasn't been filed yet, and isn't expected to affect the May 2 primary election.
Why would anyone object to picture ID's for anyone wanting to vote? The voter registration scandals we saw in the Washington governor's race and in Wisconsin's presidential race should be proof enough that we need tighter laws to prevent voter fraud. Here's Powerline's summary of voter fraud in 2004.
The record indicates that in 2004, voter registration fraud was mainly the work of so-called "nonpartisan" groups such as Association of Community Organizations for Reform Now (ACORN) and NAACP National Voter Fund. Examples include:
  • Joint task force in Wisconsin found 'clear evidence of fraud in the Nov. 2 election in Milwaukee," including more than 200 felon voters, more than 100 double voters and thousands more ballots cast than voters recorded as having voted in the city.
  • NAACP National Voter Fund worker in Ohio paid crack cocaine in exchange for a large number of fraudulent voter registration cards in names of Dick Tracy, Mary Poppins and other fictional characters.
  • Former ACORN worker said there was a lot of fraud committed by group in Florida, as ACORN workers submitted thousands of fraudulent registrations in a dozen states across the country, resulting in a statewide investigation of the group in Florida and multiple indictments and convictions of ACORN/Project Vote workers for voter registration fraud in several states.
This is a huge mistake by Dean and the DNC. When they challenge this rule, I'll guarantee that an ad will be waiting tying Democrats to all the 2004 voter registration fraud. People will know that this isn't about disenfranchisement. They'll know it's about loose rules that enable voter fraud.

They'll see that Democratic GOTV operations are the real home of the "Culture of Corruption" and have been for years.
