Typical Whining Liberalism

One of the most incoherent, whiney liberals in Minnesota is Nick Coleman. Here's a sampling of his 'trademarks' from his latest column:
We are on a bender of historic proportions, partying while our house rots, the kids go hungry and our savings are squandered. Billions for stadiums after years of slashing spending on everything that matters.
Kids are starving here in The Welfare Kingdom? Give me a break. I assume he's saying that our financial house is rotting and about to fall apart. That's how liberals think when we go from a $4.5 BILLION DEFICIT to a $1 BIILLION SURPLUS in less than 4 years.

Besides, I remember the surplus we had before Jesse. We had a $3+ BILLION SURPLUS back in the day. We could've built new stadiums for the Twins & Vikings for less than what we'll now pay in sales tax towards the Vikings stadium. And it still wasn't enough for Democrats.

I remember watching Ch. 19, the Govt. Access Channel at the time. Three Senate Democrats were debating a tax increase while we had that $3 BILLION SURPLUS. One said that the new tax should go towards education. Another said that it should pay for improving transportation. The other said that it should go towards fixing Minnesota's roads. They were haggling over where a new tax should go when we had a RECORD SURPLUS and enough money to fix every potholed highway and build a batch of new schools and hiring additional teachers.

That's Nick Coleman's mindset. In Nick Coleman's world, full funding education wouldn't be enough. Pass a tax increase to get it done. Kids are supposedly starving. Pass a tax increase so we can give them welfare instead of lowering taxes and giving them a job instead.
To repeat just one example: Investing the taxpayer costs of a Twins stadium in pre-K education to prepare every at-risk child in Hennepin County for school would keep them out of jail later and reap multiple rewards in public safety and economic development.
Nick, Money isn't the answer to the crime rate. Money isn't the solution to failing education systems. The crime rate is escalating because Amy Klobuchar won't competently prosecute criminals. It's also increasing because the Klobuchars of this state think of criminals as victims, not as thugs who must be stopped at all costs.

Money isn't the solution to whatever education problems exist. Alot of the problems have been solved by dumping outcome-based education curricula. (That's yet another idiotic liberal idea.)

I'd be remiss if I didn't note the class warfare that Not-So-Saintly-Nick engages in. If taken to its logical conclusion, his position would lead us to not having professional sports. That's something nobody wants to think about. In fact, I don't doubt that Nick hasn't figured that out.

After all, what do you expect from someone who got fired by Air America?
