Novak: Fitzgerald Knows Leak Source

The Chicago Sun-Times' Dave Newbart is reporting that Patrick Fitzgerald knows who leaked Valerie Wilson's name to reporter/columnist Robert Novak. Here's what he's reporting:
Robert Novak said Wednesday that special counsel Patrick Fitzgerald knows who outed a CIA agent to the Chicago Sun-Times columnist but hasn't acted on the information because Novak's source committed no crime. Novak also hinted that he personally didn't rely on the Fifth Amendment, which protects people from testifying against themselves, in Fitzgerald's investigation. Fitzgerald is investigating who leaked CIA operative Valerie Plame's name to Novak and other reporters in an effort to discredit her husband, a critic of the Bush administration.
If Fitzgerald knows this, why is this investigation not being wrapped up? It seems to me that if he knows who told Novak, then the investigation is over.

It seems that he's shot his biggest bullet at Scooter Libby. How would he learn anything pertinent to his initial mandate by further grand jury testimony? If he brings Rove in another time, what would he learn? Wouldn't it be to try and get Rove to add to the gossip that this story's generated?

Mr. Fitzgerald will have alot to answer for once this is wrapped up, not the least of which is why he wasted so much taxpayer money by dragging this sham investigation out so long. Let's hope he pays a professional price for his shameless conduct.
Still, he did say, "If I had gone before a grand jury and taken the Fifth Amendment, Mr. Fitzgerald would have that on the street in about two minutes."
It sounds like Mr. Novak knows that Fitzgerald is an indiscriminate leaker. That wouldn't surprise me a bit. Fitzgerald isn't the "prosecutor's prosecutor" that Chuck Schumer's claimed. I take Schumer's statements to be political cover for a political hack with an Irish name.
