Clark: U.S. Needs New Plan on Terror War
Gross: Dems Need A Credible Spokesperson on National Security
That's my conclusion after reading this AP article and I'm sticking with it. Gen. Clark has now gone from being a disgraced fired battlefield general to being a disgraceful political hack on the national security issue. Here's a disgraceful section of his diatribe:
But why should verified facts interrupt Gen. Clark's diatribe, right?
Furthermore, it's insulting for Gen. Clark to say that President Bush's plan is a "path to nowhere." Shame on his politically-motivated claims. He claims that President Bush's policies, which have led to the liberation of 50 million people and the writing of two constitutions, are leading us nowhere.
Only an idiot could say it and mean it. And Clark isn't an idiot. He's a willing accomplice in a mean-spirited, dishonest attack on a president who's taken a proactive approach to ridding this world of the villains who killed three thousand innocent civilians and who terrorized an entire region.
While President Bush has been bold, Democrats have been timid little-minded whiners who don't have a coherent strategy on winning the GWOT. They only have diatribes and trite-sounding 'goals' like capturing bin Laden.
What Democrats haven't figured out is that trotting out a general who doesn't provide details on how Democrats would do better is a waste of time to most Americans. Simply put, they don't care about the spokesperson's resume; they care about the policy.
Until Democrats can offer a serious, detailed plan on how to win the GWOT, they can trot out whichever general or military man they want and it won't make a difference. It's all about who's serious and who isn't.

"This administration has taken us on a path to nowhere, replete with hyped intelligence, macho slogans and an incredible failure to see the obvious," Clark said in the broadcast.Obviously, Clark's ignoring the fact that California Conservative's Ray Robison has been doing a great job posting documents that show President Bush didn't hype the intelligence. To the contrary, Ray's work has shown that Saddam's generals thought they had WMD's and were shocked to find out that he didn't. So much for hyped intelligence.
But why should verified facts interrupt Gen. Clark's diatribe, right?

Clark joined House and Senate Democrats on Wednesday in calling for a strategy that would provide U.S. agents with the resources to pursue bin Laden, redeployment of U.S. forces from Iraq, better equipment for the military and improved screening of containers and inbound cargo.Wednesday's strategy announcement came 'complete' with a 6 page outline (3 pages if you took out the Spanish-language translation) on how they planned to accomplish their goals.
