President Trump's rocky road to 270?

Josh Kraushaar's article highlights an old acronym I learned years decades ago. The applicable acronym is GIGO. GIGO stands for Garbage In, Garbage Out. It fits Mr. Kraushaar's article perfectly.

Specifically, Kraushaar's article states "President Trump is stuck on 259 electoral votes, and his campaign is trying to scheme any way possible to get him back to a majority. That's the takeaway from a new Politico story outlining the Trump campaign's intent to target three Democratic-leaning states - New Hampshire, New Mexico, and Nevada - as part of its battleground state strategy."

Relying on anything Politico pumps out is foolish. First, this analysis relies on President Trump losing Wisconsin, Michigan and Pennsylvania. The odds of that happening aren't high. Winning Michigan alone puts Trump over the top. It seems likely that Trump will do that. Because he's fought hard to bring manufacturing jobs back to Michigan, blue collar voters are overwhelmingly supporting Trump.

Assuming that Trump will lose all three 'Blue Wall' states is foolish. The blue collar workers will turn out in just as big of numbers in 2020 as they did in 2016. Trump kept his promises to them. Further, the choice will come down to either keeping in place the policies that are currently producing fantastic economic growth or reverting back to the policies of the previous 8 years, when industries were hurt and economic growth was pathetic.

There aren't enough stupid people who will vote to wreck this great economy. And let there be no doubt. If a Democrat is elected president in 2020, this fantastic economy will be as good as dead.

That's before we start talking about the Democrats' position on immigration. Despite some Democrats' claim that they're interested in border security, it's obvious that they aren't. If Democrats were serious about border security, we wouldn't have had 144,000 apprehensions along the border in May. If anyone thinks that President Trump will get hurt electorally for his immigration policies, they aren't paying attention.
There's no doubt that President Trump will highlight the Democrats' position of doing nothing to secure the border. Democrats will protest but anyone with half a brain knows that Democrats haven't written a single piece of legislation that fixes this crisis. And make no mistake about whether it's a crisis.

Let's talk to an expert (rather than a windbag politician) about this. Here's what John Sanders said about the situation:

"We are in a full-blown emergency, and I cannot say this stronger: the system is broken," said acting CBP Commissioner John Sanders. Sanders said his agency has detained more than 680,000 border-crossers in the past eight months, noting that the total is "more than the population of Miami."

This statement from US Customs & Border Protection is must reading, especially for windbag politicians. If Democrats that're serving on the House Problem Solvers Caucus don't take this seriously, they'll be one-term wonders and Nancy Pelosi won't even be the Minority Leader anymore.

And as I hear it, the Dems just passed a full-blown amnesty for everybody, including known criminals.

I'll have more on the subject of immigration tonight. You won't want to miss it.

I really like Trump. I just hate how members of his own party are stabbing him in the back. I would like him to force the airlines to bring back aircraft maintenance that's currently outsourced to foreign countries such as China, Brazil, and El Salvador. Also, I would like to see him get that border wall complete and pass mandatory E-Verify ASAP.

Speaker Pelosi's cowardice

When it comes to cowardice, it's difficult to picture anyone more cowardly than Nancy Pelosi. This article highlights how she wants to hold impeachment hearings without calling them impeachment hearings. In the article, she talks about investigations and how she doesn't want President Trump impeached. (Instead, she wants President Trump put in prison.)

What's insulting to the American people is that Ms. Pelosi apparently thinks that her grandstanding will take the spotlight away from the Democrats' investigation obsession and the Democrats' ignoring of real crises like doing nothing to fix our asylum laws that have literally attracted hundreds of thousands of illegal aliens the past 3 months.

People living in the desert Southwest should inflict maximum damage on Ms. Pelosi by defeating as many Democrats as possible. The worst punishment for cowards like Ms. Pelosi is to take away their political power. This video is proof that Ms. Pelosi is either a liar or badly in need of psychiatric help:
Ms. Pelosi insists that "there's great grief and sadness and pain in our country over the behavior of this President of the United States." What the hell is she babbling about? That's beyond Mueller delusional. That's psycho ward delusional. While the people are about to re-elect President Trump, Pelosi insists that those people are sad that President Trump is still president.

I'll stipulate that DC Democrats hate President Trump. That's where Pelosi gets this opinion from. Beyond DC, though, few people hate President Trump. Certainly, Democrat activists hate President Trump. Still, those haters pale in comparison to the hard-working blue collar workers who are experiencing a rejuvenation of their local economies thanks to President Trump's policies. The DC haters (like Ms. Pelosi) are outnumbered by those who are grateful.

Finally, it's obvious that Pelosi is too cowardly to call out the hateful few because she needs their fundraising dollar. If that isn't the definition of cowardice, then that definition doesn't exist.

The Democrats' border crisis

Anyone that thinks that Democrats don't have a border security crisis isn't paying attention. They definitely haven't read Paul Bedard's article about the crisis that Democrats refuse to fix.

Bedard's article starts by saying "Calling the surprising May surge in illegal immigrant arrests on the border the 'worst case scenario,' a top immigration analyst has boosted the expected level of crossings 10%, to over 1 million. U.S. Customs and Border Protection on Wednesday revealed that May apprehensions topped 144,000. This year has seen 676,315 apprehensions so far, up 99% over this time last year. That shocked immigration officials who had hoped it would drop in part due to the Trump administration's get tough efforts on the border and the potentially deadly heat migrants encounter traveling through northern Mexico."

Thus far, House Democrats haven't lifted a finger to fix the immigration crisis. They've passed an immigration bill that will invite more illegal aliens to our borders but they haven't passed a bill that'd fix the asylum crisis or the humanitarian crisis or the exploitation of young girl crisis.

Further, Democrat members of the Problem Solvers Caucus haven't written a single piece of legislation that addresses these crises. If Democrat members of the Problem Solvers Caucus wont fix problems, then they're worthless ! They should be thrown out in large numbers in November, 2020.

By contrast, Sen. Lindsey Graham is working with President Trump to fix the problem. He's written actual legislation that'd fix many of the problems. The chances that Democrats will work with Sen. Graham is virtually nonexistent. As long as the Resist Movement exists, then Democrats will be Democrats first, patriots only as a last resort.

Steven Kopits, the president of Princeton Policy Advisors which has predicted that immigrant apprehensions would reach 931,000 this year, expressed concern about the May numbers and boosted his prediction to 1,072,000. "This is the highest for the month of May since 2000 and the highest for any calendar month since March 2006," he said in a report provided to Secrets. "We had expected a major surge heading into the summer months, but this is above our worst case scenario ," he added.

Today on Outnumbered, Harry Reid's former spin-meister said that it's finally time to have a conversation about this subject. Fuck that noise. (Pardon my French but this subject pisses me off on multiple levels.) The time for a leisurely conversation was a year ago. This time, it's time for action:
Sen. Graham's legislation will fix most, if not all, of the incentives that've precipitated this crisis. I'm betting that Democrat support for Sen. Graham's legislation will be minimal, if that. Democrats are too obedient to the Resist activists to support Sen. Graham's legislation. That's because today's Democrats are politicians first, patriots only rarely. What a sickening bunch.

Democrats are not fixing the border crisis, demonizing White Men, and celebrating political correctness. Lot of illegal aliens close to where I live in Illinois (O'Hare area). Trump should also withhold funding to sanctuary states like Illinois and California.

The Democrats' border crisis, Part II

If this article doesn't stir Democrats to action, then they'll be exposed as heartless politicians who only care about winning elections. Here's a serious question for House Democrats: Why don't you attempt to put nation ahead of political gain for a change?

I won't pretend that the GOP is faultless on immigration. Still, I know Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-SC) has put together legislation together to fix the current crisis. That's leaps and bounds beyond anything that House Democrats have done.

Mark Morgan, the acting director of Immigration and Customs Enforcement, didn't pull punches in addressing the crisis:
Participating in the briefing was Sen. Chuck Grassley. Here's what he had to say about what he'd heard:

I can't believe that this actually happens but that people down there in Central America or Mexico are renting babies to get across the border and then sending them back and renting them again to get across the border. The public doesn't know about it. I hope you guys will help advertise that, assuming the information that I heard yesterday was accurate because that's a humanitarian crisis that we have to be concerned about.

What will Nancy do? What will Chuck do? Can they be bothered to give a damn? Thus far, they've said that it was a manufactured crisis, that the problem was caused by President Trump's policies or simply refused to fix the asylum loopholes.

Their accomplices in the press, especially Jessica Tarlov, insist that Democrats care about border security. That's BS. If they cared, they'd pass Sen. Graham's 11-page bill that could fix these problems within a week. Democrats won't do that, though. Their actions speak for themselves.

If Democrat members of the Problem Solvers Caucus don't defy Ms. Pelosi, most of those freshmen Democrats will be one-term wonders. If Pelosi, Schumer and the Democrats listen to the Resist Movement, they'll deserve to lose in a landslide. This is a crisis. Crises demand fixing.

Thus far, Democrats have failed miserably.

Agreement reached & signed

Apparently, President Trump's tactic of imposing tariffs on Mexico worked. Ed Morrissey's post is both thorough in delivering details to its readers but it's the best analysis to their readers, too.

Ed cites this article from the Guardian in one of his first updates. That update quote says "According to a US-Mexico joint declaration released later in the evening, Mexico agreed to take more migrants seeking asylum in the United States while they await adjudication of their cases. The country also agreed to increase enforcement to curb illegal immigration, including deploying national guard troops to its southern border and cracking down on human smuggling organizations, the declaration said."

I can't praise Team Trump enough for their efforts to stop "human smuggling organizations" as part of this agreement. While others ignored that part of the crisis, Team Trump didn't. When honest journalists write about this part of the agreement, it will be noticed that the Democrats talked about border security while Team Trump delivered border security to the most vulnerable amongst us.

Put differently, President Trump delivered while Pelosi's Democrats on the Problem Solvers Caucus sat in the corner and did nothing. As far as I'm concerned, they're virtually worthless.

Here's another update and analysis from Ed's post:

Update: This appears to be the biggest win for Trump in the declaration. Apart from Mexico's pledge to maintain its current aggressive actions in shutting down the southern border to unauthorized migration, Mexico agreed to take back anyone crossing the border, asylum application or not:

The United States will immediately expand the implementation of the existing Migrant Protection Protocols across its entire Southern Border. This means that those crossing the U.S. Southern Border to seek asylum will be rapidly returned to Mexico where they may await the adjudication of their asylum claims.

In response, Mexico will authorize the entrance of all of those individuals for humanitarian reasons, in compliance with its international obligations, while they await the adjudication of their asylum claims. Mexico will also offer jobs, healthcare and education according to its principles.

Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell issued this statement after the official agreement had been signed:

I am glad President Trump has secured a commitment from the Mexican government to do more to secure their own borders and control the flow of people through their country. The security and humanitarian crisis on the southern border of the United States is unacceptable and Mexico has a crucial role to play as a responsible neighbor.

It is also good news for Kentuckians and for all Americans that U.S. families won't be hit with the price increases that would have resulted from new tariffs on imports from Mexico.

Following this new progress, the onus is now squarely on my Democratic colleagues in Congress. Republicans have been working for weeks to secure supplemental funding for the badly overstretched agencies conducting law enforcement and humanitarian missions amid the border crisis. Thus far, Democrats have dragged their heels and preferred to pick political fights with the President rather than get something done. Until they put aside political gamesmanship and allow us to pass this needed funding, Democrats will continue to own the grave consequences.

By contrast, Senate Minority Leader Schumer issued this 'statement':

McConnell and Trump sound like leaders. Schumer sounds childish. That's why Sen. Schumer is likely to be the Minority Leader for a great many years. David Asman at Fox Business offers this commentary:

It's sad that the president of the United States has to threaten Mexico with tariffs to get them to stop allowing illegals to trapes across their country and then have members of congress cry because it's bad policy. Well congress, you have the power to stop the flow by upholding the current laws or by making new ones so stop making the president out as the bad guy.

Response 1.1 by Gary Gross at 09-Jun-19 12:57 AM
It's the administration's responsibility to uphold the law. That's the executive branch's responsibility. It's the legislative branch's responsibility to fix laws that are no longer working.

The simple summary is this: the executive branch is doing its job. The legislative branch isn't doing its job. I point the finger strictly at Nancy Pelosi's Democrat for that. They just passed a mass amnesty bill. How does that fix this crisis, you ask? Simple. It doesn't.

Democrats' look in the mirror moment

Thomas Homan, the former acting director of ICE, insists that the Democrats have a 'look in the mirror' problem. Based on this opinion piece , I think he's right.

To say that Mr. Homan is more than upset with the national security crisis is understatement. Homan knows the ins and outs of the political battle that's being fought. He's served in Republican and Democrat administrations. He noted that "The president also put a new long-term immigration plan on the table that the Democratic congressional leadership would have welcomed 10 years ago - but instead has rejected out of hand."

Democrats have put political gain ahead of doing what's right. Anyone willing to argue that is either getting paid to lie or they're incredibly stupid. Frankly, I don't think that Democrats are stupid, though they frequently act that way on TV.

Homan has these questions he'd like Democrats to answer:

  1. Why do you believe it is OK to not care about securing our borders and enforcing laws passed by Congress?

  2. Why do you vilify the brave men and women who enforce our laws?

  3. Why do you ignore an unprecedented humanitarian crisis on our border?

Homan wasn't finished. Later, he wrote this:

If Democrats want to know why children are dying and 31 percent of women coming to the U.S. illegally are being sexually assaulted during their journey, the Democrats need only to look in the mirror and see their inaction.

The Democrats want to know how the criminal cartels in Mexico make billions of dollars a year on illegal immigrants smuggling and human trafficking in women and children. Again, they need only look in the mirror.

If the Democrats want to call illegal immigration a manufactured crisis then they must accept that they manufactured it. They manufactured it because of their drive to see President Trump fail, their desire to have open borders, and their desire to turn illegal immigrants into American citizens and Democratic voters.

This isn't to say that Republicans are flawless. It's to say that Democrats are significantly worse on immigration and border security. How can the party that supposedly supports the little guy do nothing while "31% of women coming to the U.S. illegally" get assaulted? That isn't fighting for the little guy. That's the Democrats ( again ) playing partisan political tricks instead of doing what's right for America. That's sickening. In this video, Pelosi criticizes President Trump, saying this isn't a way to treat a friend:
What blithering idiot thinks that friends let harmful drugs flow into their neighbor's yards? What blithering idiot thinks that a friend turns a blind eye while teenage girls are imported into their neighbor's yard, then sold into sex slavery? If that's Pelosi's definition of a friend, then that explains her spark of divinity statement about MS-13:
The night Trump defeated Hillary, Democrats decided that they hated Trump more than they loved this country. Since then, Democrats have tried sabotaging President Trump's efforts in ways that would've been inconceivable 15 years ago. Now, the Democrats' actions aren't just expected. They're demanded . It's long past time that Democrats should take a week for self-examination. Today's Democrats are nothing like Democrat patriots like Hubert Humphrey, JFK, Scoop Jackson & Daniel Patrick Moynihan.

We have conflicting axioms, here.

1. Never attribute to malice that which is adequately explained by stupidity.

2. The difference between intelligence and stupidity is that there is a limit to intelligence.

And I think there is a further conflict: There seems to be no limit to Democrat malice where this President is concerned.

Sen. Schumer's tweeting 'history'

The MSM has complained about President Trump's tweets as though they were meant to be ridiculed. The MSM hasn't noticed that Sen. Schumer's tweets is more ridiculous than President Trump's tweets.

For instance, moments after President Trump announced that the US and Mexico had reached a deal on border security, Sen. Schumer tweeted "This is an historic night! @realDonaldTrump has announced that he has cut a deal to 'greatly reduce, or eliminate, Illegal Immigration coming from Mexico and into the United States.' Now that that problem is solved, I'm sure we won't be hearing any more about it in the future."

First, the problem isn't solved. This is just President Trump doing his best to limit the damage of the current crisis. Sen. Schumer first said that this was a "manufactured crisis". Throughout, Sen. Schumer has sat on his hands instead of providing ideas that would fix this crisis. Doing nothing except obstructing is what Sen. Schumer does best. That's why this tweet is utterly laughable:

The next serious proposal from Sen. Schumer or Pelosi will be their first of this session of Congress. We've got a crisis at our southern border. What's the only legislation that's been written on immigration? The House passed a mass amnesty bill that won't fix any part of this crisis. The Senate has done even less than the House. In fact, Senate Democrats haven't done anything about immigration. So much for the thought that Democrats have provided "serious proposals to address the nation's most pressing needs."

Here's another of Sen. Schumer's idiotic tweets:

What a wimp! President Trump pressured Mexico into multiple concessions, which should help with this crisis. Thus far, Mexico has done more to fix the humanitarian crisis and national security crisis than Democrats have done. That isn't a high bar since Democrats haven't done a thing that'd fix a thing about these crises. If Democrats don't siding with the Resist Movement instead of with the American people, their 2020 fates will be grim.

Sen. Schumer should stop flapping his gums and stop with his obstruction. Democrats haven't provided any assistance since President Trump was elected. Democrats unanimously voted against President Trump's tax cuts. Democrats frequently voted against eliminating industry-killing regulations. Frankly, Sen. Schumer's tweets are almost as worthless as his actions on important issues.

Ms. Pelosi's hissy fit is unbecoming

Nancy Pelosi erupted again , saying that President Trump's tactics "undermined America's preeminent leadership role in the world by recklessly threatening to impose tariffs on our close friend and neighbor to the south." Then she said that "threats and temper tantrums are no way to negotiate foreign policy."

Actually, when you're dealing with a do-nothing Democrat House intent on sabotaging national security, it's the perfect way to get things done on the international stage. That's what President Trump is dealing with. Unlike Ms. Pelosi, President Trump is intent on addressing the biggest issues on our plate. Nancy Pelosi ( and her Democrats) don't care about America's agenda. They're all about their special interests' agenda.

If that agenda diverges with America's agenda, then Democrats side with the special interests. But I digress. Back to Ms. Pelosi's hissy fit:

"Congress will continue to hold the Trump Administration accountable for its failures to address the humanitarian situation at our southern border," she said. "President Trump must stop sabotaging good-faith, constructive, and bipartisan efforts in Congress to address this complex problem in a humane manner that honors and respects our most cherished national values."

What a windbag. That's what DC politicians do when caught doing nothing. Pelosi knows that House Democrats haven't done a thing to fix the humanitarian or national security crises. Instead, Pelosi's Democrats passed a blanket amnesty bill that doesn't fix any of the problems we're currently dealing with.

Thanks to Ms. Pelosi's Democrats, 31% of all girls brought illegally into the US from Mexico have been sexually assaulted. Ms. Pelosi, which of our "cherished national values" does that uphold?

This is Pelosi just 3 months ago:
She's the witch that's sabotaging good-faith attempts to fix this crisis. Simply put, she isn't a patriot. She hasn't been for years. She's been a total autocrat whenever possible. Not a single Democrat voted for President Trump's tax cuts that have the economy sailing. Not a single Democrat voted for border wall funding until after she became Speaker. Only then did Democrats vote for funding the wall. BTW, they still haven't lifted a finger on fixing US asylum laws.

How she has the audacity to say that Democrats are part of "good-faith, constructive, and bipartisan efforts in Congress to address this complex problem" is beyond me. Ms. Pelosi is a proven liar. She shouldn't be mistaken for being a patriot.
