President Trump vs. Ma & Pa Kettle
Last night, Speaker Pelosi and Sen. Schumer did their best American Gothic impersonation. This afternoon, Speaker Pelosi did her best Cruella Deville impression. At a meeting in the White House, Democrats urged President Trump to open the government. Then Democrats said that they'd negotiate border security provisions . President Trump then asked Speaker Pelosi if he quickly re-opened the government if she'd agree to funding President Trump's wall. Immediately, Pelosi said she wouldn't.
At that point, President Trump left:
The president, in a tweet, called the meeting 'a total waste of time' and appeared to confirm that he left after Pelosi's answer. 'I asked what is going to happen in 30 days if I quickly open things up, are you going to approve Border Security which includes a Wall or Steel Barrier? Nancy said, NO. I said bye-bye, nothing else works!' Trump tweeted.
If Pelosi thinks that negotiations are about Democrats getting everything they want and Republicans getting nothing, then President Trump did exactly the right thing. It's a waste of President Trump's time.
What's truly stupid is the fact that Democrats think that this is a winning strategy. The past 2 days, they've looked like idiots. Pelosi and Sen. Schumer looked like Ma & Pa Kettle during their rebuttal. Wednesday afternoon, they acted like spoiled brats during the meeting, then made things up during the press availability afterwards. Then Republicans corrected the Democrats' statements:

It's one thing to be miles apart during negotiations. It's quite another to refuse to negotiate. For Democrats to go from $0 for a border barrier to $0 for a border barrier today isn't negotiating.
Steve Scalise summarized things beautifully when he said "Last night, he laid out some of the challenges facing our country and how we can get a solution. The thing he did was continue to offer new ideas and look, over the weekend, our teams worked on putting together new ideas. And we can talk about terms but at some point, the other team has to put forward a counter-offer on the table."
That's astonishing. We're 3 weeks into this shutdown and Democrats still haven't made a counter-offer. That's the definition of negotiating in bad faith. Don't be surprised if President Trump characterizes Democrats as the obstructionist party. Further, don't be surprised if that characterization sticks.

Un-American Democrats
In 2008, El Tinklenberg almost defeated Michele Bachmann told Chris Matthews that there were Democrats in Congress that held un-American views. Michele was pilloried by the Twin Cities media for saying what conservatives knew at the time. Today, there's no disputing the fact that Democrats don't put America first. It's clear that Democrats put their warped ideology first.
In their latest 'negotiating' session, President Trump walked out when Speaker Pelosi insisted that President Trump re-open the government. The meeting ended when President Trump asked Pelosi if she'd fund his wall if he re-opened government. She replied that she wouldn't . News reports later said that Pelosi refused to negotiate, which is accurate.
Pence led a three-person White House team seeking to negotiate with Democratic leaders over the weekend, but he told reporters that Schumer and Pelosi have been unwilling to budge. "We incorporated Democrat ideas and language in our proposal and made an offer to resolve this impasse and address the crisis at our southern border. And today, in this brief meeting, we heard once again that Democratic leaders are unwilling to even negotiate," Pence said.
In good-faith negotiations, each side gives a little. Neither side gets everything that they want. Pelosi thinks that she doesn't have to budge an inch. Pelosi thinks that she can just play my-way-or-the-highway hardball.

Think of what Vice President Pence just said. He said that Republicans crafted legislation that "incorporated Democrat ideas and language in our proposal and made an offer to resolve this impasse." The Democrats have stayed stuck on no. So much for Democrats negotiating in good faith.
That's proof positive that Democrats put political victories ahead of doing what's right for the nation. That's the definition of being un-American.

Government vs. national security
The Democrats are fighting a losing fight because they're fighting for re-opening the government while President Trump fights for keeping people safe. That's a fight any politician will win 99% of the time. People understand that walls work in providing security. Meanwhile, people that aren't employed by the government generally don't care if the government isn't open because they don't use government on a daily basis.
People definitely care whether the government protects them, though. That's an expectation people have of their government. If the USDA or the EPA isn't open, people will get over it because they don't use those departments that often. While people don't use ICE or the CBP each day, people rely on them to keep them safe each day.
As long as Democrats fight to re-open government and President Trump keeps fighting for beefing up the CBP or ICE, President Trump will win that fight each time. It gets more lopsided when Democrats trot out Ma & Pa Kettle to rebut President Trump's fact-filled message:
Democrats dug this hole. Let's see how much damage they do to themselves before this shutdown ends.

Unidos's wall of deception
This afternoon, I got an email from the ultra-lefty organization Unidos. As left as the Democrats are drifting, Unidos is further left. In the email, they wrote "Today, we published an op-ed in the Washington Post that urges Congress to include a solution for DACA and TPS recipients when negotiating an end to the shutdown. Right now, the legal status of millions are in jeopardy after Trump decided to end both programs."
They then continue, saying "For the good of our community and our country, we need a bipartisan compromise that will reopen the government, but also protect DREAMers and TPS holders. While Trump and his allies may have double-downed on the shutdown this week, the strategy isn't sustainable. Millions of Americans have already been hurt by it, and it's possible that every American will be affected before it ends. All this to promote a fabricated border crisis and a monument to bigotry ."
Let's get serious a moment. The Schumer Shutdown was all about Sen. Schumer rejecting a compromise of funding for the wall in exchange for protection for DACA recipients. Then there's this:
Trump and his allies need to recognize the reality that the government needs to reopen ASAP, that a wasteful, unnecessary and unpopular wall will never happen, and that they need to begin serious negotiations with the House of Representatives. Contact your representatives (202-224-3121) and tell them it's time to end the shutdown. As much as we need a reality check about the border, we must also not miss this moment to finally protect our DREAMers and TPS communities once and for all.
Give me a break. First, the border crisis isn't fake. It's altogether too real for the Singh family and the families of other angel families. Next, calling the wall "a monument to bigotry" is intellectually dishonest. If someone told that to me face-to-face, I'd berate them verbally. CNN's stupidity, snottiness
It's been quite the week for CNN's correspondents and commentators. Let's start with Jim Acosta, everyone's least favorite White House correspondent. Acosta tried proving that there wasn't a crisis on the US-Mexico border:

Acosta visited an area where steel slats had been built. Here's what Acosta reported :
I found some steel slats down on the border. But I don't see anything resembling a national emergency situation.. at least not in the McAllen TX area of the border where Trump will be today.
President Trump reportedly sent Acosta a thank you note after that tweet because it proved President Trump's point. Apparently, it didn't occur to Acosta that the area was tranquil because of the barrier. That video proved CNN's stupidity.
Chris Cabrera, the National Border Patrol Council spokesman for agents in the Rio Grande Valley, issued a challenge to Acosta :

"What he fails to realize is he's out there with cameras during the day. Everything is pretty nice and calm during the day," Cabrera told Ingraham. Sherrod Brown's Christianity
It's apparent that Sherrod Brown's understanding of Christianity is limited. In this op-ed , Sen. Brown quotes from the 25th chapter of the Gospel of Matthew:
As usual, President Donald Trump and far too many in Congress, self-professed Christians all, ignore the wisdom of Matthew 25: When did we ever see you hungry and not feed you? When did we ever see you sick and not help? The Lord answered, whenever you failed to do one of these things to someone who was being overlooked or ignored, that was me, you failed to do it for me.
Sen. Brown then continued to attempt to make his point, saying "This government shutdown is the latest example of how President Donald Trump has overlooked, ignored and betrayed American workers. Nearly 800,000 federal employees are going without a paycheck. President Trump said his shutdown has a 'higher purpose than next week's pay.' Tell that to the Transportation Security Administration agents I met in Cleveland, with children to feed and rent coming due."
First, these workers are well-compensated. These families aren't living paycheck-to-paycheck. Next, shame on politicians who use Scripture to win political fights. It's time for Democrat politicians to stop misusing the Bible. The Bible was written to instruct us how to live Godly lives. It wasn't written to help politicians win political fights.
They're paid too little to begin with, often $12 or $15 an hour. Now thousands of these workers can't work and aren't getting paid, thanks to President Trump, and unlike direct government employees, they have no way of making up those lost hours and lost wages. Unless Congress acts, many of these workers won't receive back pay when the government finally reopens. I'm working with my colleagues on legislation to fix that.
Sen. Brown knows that these workers will get back pay. President Trump, along with Republican senators like Lindsey Graham and Ted Cruz, have stated that federal employees will get backpay. Sen. Brown is intentionally being deceptive.

I am curious as to who the government workers are who are paid $10-$15 per hour?
Meanwhile, the problem with Democrats is that they only use biblical verses to twist facts. Jesus called us to conversion of hearts as individuals. It is not up to the government to utilize funds for every poor person on the planet. Individuals are baptized; they sin; they are converted, etc. It is not surprising, however, that Democrats mischaracterize the Gospel. They see everything in terms of groups, ethnicities, etc. The concept of the individual has no place in their thinking. That is why Progressives are quick to make laws which interfere with individual freedoms like speech, religious faith, etc.. Only government and collectivism is important to them.
Christianity makes Progressives uncomfortable as it demand a personal conversion. It has nothing to do with politics. Speaking with Democrats who claim to be Christian, they do not bat an eye about voting for pro-abortion candidates, anti-Christian politicians, etc. It becomes clear that they think salvation comes with belonging to a group of people who utilize taxpayer funds for welfare.
Hannity's finest program
Friday night's Hannity program was easily his best. As I told a friend, I'm not Mr. Hannity's biggest fan. Still, I can't deny the powerful impact Friday night's townhall had on me. It's important to know that each of the panelists is an Angel Parent. In fact, I've interviewed several of the Angel moms, including Agnes Gibboney , Sabine Durden and MaryAnn Mendoza . (I admit that this isn't just another post for me because I've interviewed a number of these Angel moms.)

Hannity focused initially on the Democrats' chanting point of calling this border battle as a "manufactured crisis." Pay special attention to the montages of Democrat politicians and their liberal parasites in the MSM/Agenda Media. In the final segment of the townhall meeting, MaryAnn Mendoza challenged Speaker Pelosi:
I would love the opportunity to stand in front of Nancy Pelosi, mother to mother, and look her in the eye, and say 'which child of yours or grandchild of yours would you give up to support this agenda of yours, this horrendous lie.
Then Mendoza showed what a cold-hearted bitch Pelosi is:
I called Nancy Pelosi's office to request another meeting with her while I'm in DC and it was dead silence from her staffer. I said "This is Angel Mom MaryAnn Mendoza. I'd like to request a meeting face-to-face and mother-to-mother with Nancy Pelosi about this situation. Dead silence. The staffer said 'no, I'll put you through to her voice mail. You can leave her a message."
Only a cold-hearted bitch would do that to a mother who had lost a loved one. I hope Ms. Pelosi feels MaryAnn's wrath sometime soon.

Nancy Pelosi, cold-hearted bitch
Let's be blunt about something. Nancy Pelosi is a cold-hearted bitch who doesn't care about the survivors who've lost loved ones to illegal immigrants. I quoted MaryAnn Mendoza in this post . During Hannity's townhall meeting, he asked the Angel families if they'd like to say anything to Pelosi.

The drunk-driving illegal immigrant had a blood alcohol content of .241 at the time he ran head-on into Mrs. Mendoza's son. This wasn't the first time this drunk-driving illegal immigrant had gotten arrested for drunk driving.
What's nastiest is that Pelosi continually insists that this is a "manufactured crisis." "Manufactured crisis", my ass. It's a very real crisis. It's just that cold-hearted bitches like Pelosi refuse to admit that she's wrong on the issue of immigration.
Unfortunately for Democrats, its' getting increasingly likely that other Democrats will suffer as a result of Pelosi's attitude:

That's an understatement. If Pelosi doesn't start negotiating in good faith -- soon -- she'll soon be a single-term Speaker.
Here in Minnesota, Dean Phillips spoke often about the need for new leadership "on both sides of the aisle." Thus far, he's voted for Pelosi as Speaker, then has followed her like a little puppy. So much for being a leader wanting new leadership. Angie Craig hasn't done that much. She's just followed Pelosi's orders to a T. She's been the personification of a swamp creature.
These and other Democrats have a decision to make. Either they start representing their constituents instead of representing Nancy Pelosi or they can be sent into early forced retirement. These cowardly Democrats need to hear what Agnes Gibboney said near the end of this video:

Let us work together to get her out of office. America should be ashamed of this hag. Her work as a Representative focuses on one objective to defame families who have lost loved ones to the violence of illegal immigrants, and her endless efforts to disgrace middle class Americans who work hard to maintain the honor and dignity of this great Country. She supports and works to provide free health care and other paid services paid by middle class taxpayers to illegal immigrants and places importance on them before American families. Why?
