Pakistanis Help Foil Terrorist Plot

Unlike John Kerry, Harry Reid and John Dean, I'm quite willing to give the Pakistani intelligence units the credit they deserve for their part if spoiling this terrorist plot. Here's a brief AP article on Pakistan's role in spoiling the terrorist plot:
Pakistani intelligence helped British security agencies crack a terrorist plot to blow up U.S.-bound aircraft, and has arrested two or three suspects in recent days, officials said Thursday.

"Pakistan played a very important role in uncovering and breaking this international terrorist network," said Foreign Ministry spokesman Tasnim Aslam. "Cooperation in this particular case was spread over a period of time. There were some arrests in Pakistan which were coordinated with arrests in the U.K.," she said.

She declined to give details about the arrests, including the number of suspects, their identities or when they were arrested. But a senior government official, speaking on condition of anonymity because he wasn't authorized to comment on the matter, said "two or three local people" suspected in the plot were arrested a few days ago in Lahore and Karachi.
Kerry, Dean and Reid went out of their ways to cite the British role in preventing what surely would've been a horrific attack. They knew that Pakistan's intelligence forces played a role and they knew that the FBI and CIA were involved, too. they just couldn't thank Pakistan for their help.

That Pakistan played a significant role in this type of operation is a miracle when posed against what would've happened prior to 9/11. Pakistan's Musharraf has been targeted by al Qaida many times. He's been a staunch ally nonetheless. Musharraf's government deserves a heart-felt thank you for the part they played.
