Bracing For Haditha Reports

Never has a report played such an integral role in a congressional campaign as this report will. Here's an excerpt from Sally Donnelley's Time Magazine article on the Haditha report:
DoD officials tell TIME that Secretary of Defense Donald Rumsfeld recently set up a Pentagon task force, which meets once a week, to track Haditha and prepare for the eventual release of the investigations' results. But a Pentagon source familiar with the criminal investigation says that contrary to the suggestions of some media reports Wednesday, there have been no conclusions that the Marines deliberately killed unarmed civilians. This source also says that the bodies of those killed at Haditha have not been exhumed, which makes proving murder 'very challenging.'
John Murtha will definitely owe Frank Wuterich and the other Marines an engraved apology if this information is true. I wouldn't be surprised if Time's information is accurate but I'm in no rush to judgement so I'll just wait with anticipation for the report before drawing any conclusions.

In a little over 3 months, I suspect that John Murtha will have wished that he had waited for the official report instead of touching off the firestorm that's about to bring his congressional career to a close.
