My Questions Will Be Answered
As you know, I've been dogging the Dean Johnson-Minnesota Supreme Court fiasco since it broke. Even after Sen. Johnson 'apologized' & others said it was time to move on,
I didn't buy into that & continued asking questions. As I asked
here, why should we believe that Johnson's "embellishments" were just that? It seems that
two
lawyers
have filed ethics complaints
over this flap. My questions, and many others, will be answered.
Clearly, they attempted to duck that responsibility. Thankfully, Mssrs. Emmer & Wersal thought about the consequences of not cleaning up the mess to file separate ethics complaints. I hope, and suspect, that the Board on Judicial Standards and the Lawyers Board of Professional Responsibility will conduct a proper and full investigation into this issue.
Should Johnson be found lying, I'd urge (a) that Dean Johnson be removed as Majority Leader; (b) that the people of Willmar fire him this November for an honest leader; and (c) that the Democratic Party, which gave Johnson a vote of confidence this past Monday would pay a price for circling the wagons around a dishonest man.
Should Johnson be found as telling the truth, I'd urge that the justices who spoke on this issue (a) be removed from the bench and disbarred and (b) compelled into telling us who initiated the alleged conversations. Should it be proved that Johnson initiated the conversations, then Sen. Johnson should be removed from his spot as Majority Leader.
We can't tolerate a Majority Leader telling lies just like we can't tolerate Supreme Court justices, or any appellate court judges, prejudging their cases.
It's just that simple.

"The question remains, Who is telling the truth?" Rep. Tom Emmer, a Delano Republican and an attorney, said in his complaint. "The entire event has cast a shadow over the judiciary," Golden Valley attorney Greg Wersal said in his complaint. " The public needs to know if judges on our highest court have engaged in unethical conduct by giving pledges, promises, assurances or mere hints as to how they would rule on an issue likely to come before the court."AMEN!!! It sure does. That's been my biggest complaint since hearing about the 'investigation' & apology sham that the Senate Ethics Committee tried pulling. They should be ashamed of themselves for assisting in this fiasco. Their job was to clean up the mess & restore confidence in the system; to restore confidence in the Judicial & Legislative branches.

Deano needs to go back to his home town and stay out of a government
